The View certainly has the Wow Factor! From the comfortable, modern vibe to the fabulous hosting, Lorraine with her team made our Sunday lunchtime ( and Friday coffees) an absolute pleasure. It really did feel like the customer’s needs were at the heart of what is offered. The carvery totally reached the spot with a very reasonable price tag. What more could we have hoped for. Thank you x

We can't say enough about Sunday lunch at Jaynes. Jayne and her staff were really friendly, the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming even though it was a quiet, wintery afternoon, The food was delicious, home cooked and with generous portions to say the least !! We couldn't manage pudding so Jayne sorted a 'take away pud' for us. We will definitely eat here again.

I got a real feel for this place in the short time I was there. I would have liked to have stayed longer and tried more of their beers.

Ordered cream tea. Scone fell apart as I picked it up. It had been heated up. Partner took it to counter to explain, very politely, that we didn't want it hot and it had collapsed. Counter staff girl explained she's told to heat them. Partner attempted to explain cream tea scones aren't normally hot as clotted cream will end up melting but it was obvious she was now upset. The next customer had the coffee pot slammed extra hard on the counter. Then the girl, after disappearing out back with another staff member, came back behind the counter and made some reference to 'people shouldn't tear a strip pit of people just because they're disabled' (I'm a stroke survivor in a wheelchair). I was horrified and couldn't wait to get out of there!!

Friendly and accessible bar. Great staff, quality real ale and delicious food. I was served by Jenny and Jane in the restaurant and very pleasant staff at the bar. The gaffer is a great character and it was a pleasure to visit. Everything is spotlessy clean and the atmosphere is lovely. Made my holiday.

No complaints about the quality of the food [we chose fish, chips, peas from an extensive menu]. Our service was also satisfactory and the bar is well stocked and not overly expensive. But the owners really need to try a bit harder. The corner of the bar area boasts a collection of builders materials. There is no heating, An ill fitted TV adorns the back wall and there are panels missing exposing plumbing in the toilets. Add the bewildering allowance of dogs in the dining area and what could be an excellent dining experience is left in the somewhat disappointing category. A pity because they get an awful lot right and the location is awe inspiring.
