Jaynes At The Railway Inn Borth in Ceredigion

We can't say enough about Sunday lunch at Jaynes. Jayne and her staff were really friendly, the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming even though it was a quiet, wintery afternoon, The food was delicious, home cooked and with generous portions to say the least !! We couldn't manage pudding so Jayne sorted a 'take away pud' for us. We will definitely eat here again.

Arrived at Borth on the Saturday and went to Jaynes to see if we could eat there that night. Oh my goodness. Jayne went out of her way to accommodate us, and we loved her home made steak and ale pie and chips, served with a separate jug of gravy. We decided on Sunday morning to see if she could fit us in for Sunday lunch. In spite of the short notice she found us a space and we both had her delicious roast lamb with all the trimmings and a wonderful cauliflower cheese. We were too full to try one of her puddings, we did consider asking her if we could take some away, but thought that was rather greedy. I think Jayne would have happily sorted some out for us, had we asked. She and her colleagues were helpful and kind but not overbearing. Thank you Jayne!

Me and my husband went for sunday lunch, we were seated and had drinks. Food is perfect, value for money staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Gets quite busy at times but perfect for family's and couples alone will recommend and will be back

A lovely little restaurant which was tucked away in the the side of a bar we were greatful to find somewhere to eat. We found a table really easily and the menu had a decent choice of vegan, vegetarian and meat meals. The only issue was after ordering we waited a little while, and then a little longer. We eventually had someone come out and ask if we had had our food and we said no, they looked shocked and could see this isn't something that normally happens. Somewhere along the lines out order had gone AWOL and not made it to us. They quickly resolved the situation and we had food within 10/15 minutes of sorting this. They were really on the ball and we're more than happy to supply my child with his obscene amount of ketchup requests. The food was decent and I can't knock that, portion sizes were good too, as we're the prices. Genuinely would rather go here again rather than The Victoria Inn which I found rather disappointing.

Jayne share's the premises with the Railway Inn. I recommend both. The Sunday roast was excellent with plenty of veg, good portion of meat, and proper roasties - not those frozen dry ones we sometimes get. Cauliflower cheese superb - plenty of cheese. Service friendly and very helpful. Lovely premises. We had our meal on the tables outside, and there is plenty of room inside. Great views. Parking around the back of the pub.

Great food for Great price great location and great service and price is very low if you want Sunday lunch you must book first

Fabulous sunday lunch for the family. Quality food and really good service. Went out of their way to accommodate my grandaughters choice of veg. Thankyou we will be back.

Visited after a long walk with friends. Lovely choice menu . We went for the specials of steak and ale pie and steak and kidney pudding. One of our group had ham eggs and chips. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. Very good portions and lovely and hot upon arrival. We had a fussy eater and even they were impressed. Delightful staff who really care about the food. Desserts looked fabulous but we were too full after our main. We will be back for more. No doubt about that A fantastic find

Our anniversary 8 years together. Getting married next year Aug 31st 24. Had Sunday lunch and being a chef it was really good fresh vegetables roast potatoes and meat cooked so tender plenty of gravy and mint sauce. Could not fault it at all. Delious and defiantly go back again . Very Friendly staff and professional.

Stumbled on the Railway Inn and Jaynes cafe. Had a very nice lunch and a few pints from the pub. Staff from both establishments were very attentive. Decided to have the home cooked steak and ale pie and wasn't disappointed. Would call again.

Just had a fantastic meal at Jayne's in the Railway Inn in Borth. Delicious home made food made by Jayne's own hand. Lovely lady who obviously cares a lot about her customers and the food she prepares. Good portion sizes and friendly atmosphere. We wish her all the luck, she deserves it.

This was the best Sunday lunch I’ve had in a very long time. Even better than my husbands lol. And the staff were so friendly and accommodating as we had a small, well behaved dog with us Highly recommended and hoping to return again this weekend

We had a late lunch here and were really impressed. The food was home cooked and tasty. I am gluten free and the sweet and sour chicken was delicious. My partner had the steak and ale pie with home made gravy and he was equally impressed. Desserts were yummy. Will definitely go back. Jayne is lovely and very friendly but professional too.

We are a group of 5 friends and family. Two of us have dietary requirements and Janye couldn’t be more accommodating and helpful in making sure we all had what we could and needed. The food was excellent as was the service, the portions very generous and everything was home made. The cakes looked delicious but we didn’t have any as was so full. We arrived at 7.00pm, and were told to go into the back room, upon entering we were surprised by there being only 1 person in the room. We got our drinks from the bar whilst waiting for someone to take our food order. Whilst deciding whether to order a starter we were told not to bother as the main meals were quite substantial, which they were, cooked to perfection. We waited to order a sweet but got the impression that this wasn't likely to happen (quite amusing).overall good meals cooked very well, but the standard of service could have been better.

We had a lovely time visiting the Railway this evening, the staff were so friendly and kind to our children, the food was homemade and so delicious! They are also open for ice creams which the kids had after food, so tasty and great selection of flavours, highly recommend a visit if you are in Borth looking for somewhere to eat x

Wonderful lunch at Jaynes restaurant borth a homemade chicken curry with chips and rice naan bread excellent value for money also choice of homemade puddings and now a variety of Marios icecream well recommended

Found by accident while visiting the area over the Easter weekend, wasnt inspired by the outside of the pub but so glad we went in. The waitress and Jayne where so friendly and welcoming, all the food is home made and I had the best chicken curry, rice and naam bread ever followed by a piece of lemon cheesecake. Hubby had steak pudding, chips and peas with the best gravy hes ever had, followed by rhubarb crumble and ice cream again delicious. We didnt think we would return again over our short stay in the area but after eating at another place the day after we decided to go out of our way to go back again for our desert rather than have one at the place we where at.

Visited this week. Lovely Vege curry. Good selection of beer from the pub. They are separate but it worked for me. Reasonable prices, good service.

The staff were fantastic and welcoming We ate here twice . The beef dinner was bloody lovely , the curries were beautiful and puddings were lush!! When we are back this way we will definitely be coming back !!
