An absolute delight from the moment we arrived. Our hosts, Johnathan and Gordon and their wonderful staff, were attentive and welcoming. The selection of sandwiches and sweet treats were outstanding. A beautiful building, well loved and renovated to the highest standard. The loveliest hosts in the most impeccable and impressive surroundings. Faultless and delightful.

This is the nearest location for hot rolls to my house. Its fine in an emergency, but their pricing is a bit random. Roll n Sausage is £1.80 extra bacon is £1, but they charge £3 because a Roll n Bacon is £2 and extra sausage is £1. Sorry if this is a bit too pedantic for some, but it annoys me. Tried their chips yesterday. I won't do that again.

Visited this cafe today, beautiful setting, lovely food and fantastic service. Even gave me a wee extra tub of ice cream for my dog! Will definitely return

This was an excellent place to take my father for his 70th birthday. A modern scottish inn with a varied menu, a a very high standard of cooking, generous portions and at a affordable cost. I believe this is likely to be one of the most visited restaurants in ayrshire despite its rural setting and certainly the flow of cars during our stay was constant. Yet due to the set up of several smaller rooms it never felt too busy and still felt intimate. Food was not slow either and quality was still good. Chilli caramel salmon was a particular hit and the banana sponge with banoffee ice cream was a treat. Service was excellent and friendly and the fire place was a roaring treat!!

We have been to the Millhouse several times and have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately on 11th December we had a very poor experience. The duty manager seemed completely disinterested. There was no welcome, apology for a wait we had until she came off the phone. No showing to a table, she just indicated it. No pleasantry when she came to take our order. Soup was lukewarm. After 15 / 20 mins she came to collect our plates, at which time I told her the soup was cold. She did say that she could have had it heated. Unfortunately neither she or any one else came to ask if everything was okay duringthe course. She did have the perfect opportunity to ask when she came to our table when I had pushed the soup forward and put the spoon down. She only came to put a candle on the table. She said nothing, leant across the table put the candle down and walked away. Then our main courses arrived. One was very lukewarm, don't want to say cold as there was some heat in it. I asked another member of staff if it could be microwaved. She duly did this. I would say that the two more junior members of staff that we had interaction with were excellent, friendly, bright and helpful were significantly let down by their manager.

First booked the Sorn Inn for an anniversary meal for 17 people and everyone (including children) loved the food. Have been twice more and will be back for the new set menu on Wednesday. Fantastic food and our host David was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Chef's menus are fine dining but at reasonable prices. Certainly our new place to eat out. Thanks David.
