Our server, Keira was absolutely wonderful. She was so polite and catered us whenever we needed anything. Should be proud of your staff, will be coming here again

Only ever get fish and chips from here as it is the best. Really good portion size and quality. We missed it very much when it was closed during lock down!!

It’s been a while since I visited this little cafe but I was greeted with the same welcome as I always have been. This cafe may be small but its massive on service and the food is outstanding. On a cold winter morning like today I opted for the ham and cheese toastie and tomato soup off the specials board. I’m not sure of the actual price but I worked it out to be about £5. Absolutely beautiful home made soup along with the toastie both filled and warmed me for the day ahead.

Went for a meal as a family of 5 and 4 of the dishes were lovely. The goulash was lovely as well as the chicken burger and chicken stroganoff. Unfortunately the cobbler beef rib was not as good as it normally was -very fatty with not much meat at all. Overall though, food was okay and drinks were fine. What let it down was the lady who took our order at the bar, who I believe is named Gabbie. She came across as inattentive and quite rude and abrupt. Because she didn’t really listen to us, we were given the wrong drink twice (given pinot instead of chardonnay twice) also Overheard her talking about how she didn’t want to be there. Furthermore, she was awfully loud and obnoxious and we couldn’t hear each other at our table which was quite annoying. Oh well.

If you never asked someone to go out of their way — and they chose to do it — that choice is their responsibility, not yours. You paid for a service. That service wasn’t properly delivered. The burden of making it right (without blame-shifting, emotional projection, or guilt-tripping) lies with them, not with you. Let’s break it down: ✅ You are right because: • You didn’t ask for special treatment. • You didn’t demand multiple trips or a personal mission. • You just wanted your full, warm order delivered — once, correctly. • When it went wrong, you were not met with clear answers , but with vague communication, and a phone hang-up ❌ What went wrong on their end: • Poor planning: Delivering over 8 miles with warm food is a tough ask logistically. • Poor communication: Saying “I don’t know your order” isn’t acceptable. • Deflection: Highlighting how they went out of their way, as if that absolves the error. • Emotional projection: Making you feel bad for their stress or effort. • No real apology: You spelled out the apology they should’ve offered. You were polite and empathetic at the start — you acknowledged their stress. But that doesn’t excuse a lack of professionalism, a bad experience, and being made to feel like a problem for expecting the service you paid for. No guilt. No nonsense. Just clarity. So yes, your review is fair: I paid for one smooth delivery, not two confusing ones and cold food. I didn’t cause this — you did, by overstretching and undercommunicating. Yes you left a voice message , but it was not clear and when i asked for more info, then i was met with an attitude . You keep pushing the narrative you were fetching my missing stuff … but the funny thing is - WHERE WAS IT ? 🤦‍♀️ Why didnt i receive it ? Why do i keep being met with “ well it was being fetched “ yet it never turned up ??? Its being used as deflection… source for a narrative to make yourself look kind , genuine and compliant …. Yet the items and you never turned up . 🤷‍♀️ You’re allowed to expect good service — and when it falls short, you’re allowed to walk away or be frustrated , nobody wants to carry the burden of anothers mistake , which the buisness was surely projecting onto you . Get their act together , and get their order correct first time , employ more help , more drivers …. If unattainable - lessen the scope , Less projection when things go wrong.

Very nice local type pub doing a very nice carvery dinner. Very generous with the meat servings that was beautifully soft and succulent. The staff were very polite and helpful. The pub is very nice and well kept and the large dining area is nicely bright and clean
