as always the food was excellent, really hot and served with a smile on their faces. The hot chocolate was superb and my friends pot of tea, she said it was just right.as always the food is superb, tasty and well cooked. Served by staff with a smile on their faces. Polite and friendly, nothing to much trouble. Lovely clean and tidy cafe,toilets are spotlessly clean

Visited this lovely cafe today. We received a warm welcome from Tracy the owner. It is fully accessible and has a well thought out accessible loo for a wheelchair with plenty of grab handles. It is also on one level. The cafe offers a delicious varied menu We had prawn sandwiches in warm ciabatta and salad and chips followed by chocolate cake. The coffee is delicious too 🤩 The cafe has a lovely atmosphere with twinkling lights. Well done Team Tracey. We will return 😊

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Everything made fresh on the day. Got a bar in it too. Hidden away down a side alley down ropergate by The Bank pub which used to be The Yorkshire Bank. Got a nice little outdoor area too.

This hidden gem halfway down Ropergate is one of the best places to eat in Pontefract. Great, friendly staff with excellent food, this place is always spotless. My wife and I visited for an early afternoon tea (12.30). Nothing is too much trouble for Caroline and her team. The food was plentiful and tasty. My wife is coeliac and often the food she gets when we lunch out is bland, but not here, she thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

Caroline and staff were amazing when they went out of their way to cater and make our small wedding reception of 20 special. We had a cordoned off area and L shaped seating. The food and ambience was just right. Can't recommend place enough. Was perfect on the day.

Carolyn and her team did an amazing birthday bash to celebrate Kathryn’s Birthday. All night the staff made us feel special and they went above snd beyond. The food was high quality and all our guests commented on this. Music tastefully played at a level that people could talk without shouting, but at the same time loud enough so you could enjoy some dancing… The professional dancer from Hitman & Her went down a storm and I’m sure the staff enjoyed such an eclectic night. My wife and I had breakfast there and, as usual it was spot on. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful, and everywhere is always clean and tidy.

I have been a customer of this lovely cafe bar ever since opening. Caroline and her team have always been very accommodating and helpful. I had my 50th birthday party there and it was fabulous. The food is always made fresh to order and very reasonable prices. The breakfast and lunches are delicious they will adapt the menu if needed. The coffee is always hot and well presented with a wrapped biscuit. Overall the cafe bar is welcoming and friendly. Lots of regulars meeting place. Also you can make new friends as so relaxed.

After holding a 90th birthday party for my mother in law at Alleyczam recently and I can highly recommend them .The food was amazing and the staff were brilliant , nothing was too much trouble and the whole night went perfectly . we had around 75 guests and everyone enjoyed it .This is the second function we have held here and wouldn't hesitate in using them again . 10/10

Whenever my friend and I meet in Pontefract we always come here. Great food and great service. Today, however, was a very different experience. We arrived around 10.15am and found a table. There were 3 or 4 free tables so we chose the one near the bar. We sat down and chatted and then realized we had been sat over 10 minutes and no one had come to take our order. Looking around we could see tables that had arrived after us getting their drinks. My friend asked the young waitress if we could order. The waitress bluntly replied ‘ Go and order at the bar, we’re really busy’. Now neither of us would have had any issue ordering at the bar, had we been told this when we arrived or the numerous times we had been passed by the waitress. We articulated that we didn’t know this and had we known we would have been up to order. The waitress shrugged her shoulders and walked on. We decided to leave. As we left I mentioned to the waitress that communication was poor and we were not mind readers. Again, she shrugged her shoulders, rolled her eyes and walked off. This is really poor service and not the norm.

Great staff, who are welcoming, efficient and always helpful. Alleyc'zam is always clean and tidy and they serve lovely food.

We never new this cafe was here until we were shown by members of the public. A bit busy for us on a Saturday. The breakfast baps were lovely and tea for 2 good too. Staff very welcoming

Booked exclusively for a Christening and was not dissapointed. We provided the decorations and the ladies sorted everything out the room looked lovely. Nothing was too much trouble the food was lovely, everyone enjoyed it and the day was a success.

Hi people it is quet a few weeks since I have been but both me and my wife have been we have both only had drinks here me a coffee my wife a Tea but they was both nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful and it was very clean and tidy we have been several times and will definitely go again

I love going to this cafe as its the only cafe in town that is spacious and the staff are all friendly and they don't rush you like other places do and I really love caz who owns it as she is a really good friend to me and she always makes me smile and she gives me a cuddle and makes my day I went in today with my friend and had a cuddle and a chat with caz

We order our work lunches from here quite a lot and pop in for a gin after work sometimes. First time we've been back since everything reopened and its still fantastic. Really friendly staff, the place feels really safe and clean with all covid measures in place and the food is awesome. Definitely worth a visit ifvyiu want a relaxed atmosphere, great food and loads of types of gin!! xx

I came for a meal at Alleyczam on my lunch break on a Friday. It was very busy but that didn't inhibit the quality of the food. It was well cooked and it was obvious that the ingredients were fresh. The atmosphere was buzzing and all the other customers appeared to be enjoying each other's company. The staff were so consciencious, hard working and catered to my every need. A waitress called Kate was fabulous and her great sense of humour made my experience of Alleyczam even better!! I will definitely revisit Alleyczam and would recommend it to anyone I meet! Thank you Kate and the team!! Merry Xmas. 10+/10

I hope they were just having an “off “ day - but we walked in and were ignored by the two ladies behind the bar having a loud conversation. After a wait we asked if we could sit anywhere or whether we had to be seated. We were waved in the general direction of the main part of the room. The first table we reached had been cleared but as we went to sit down I noticed it was very grubby. We tried the next table and it was the same so we left. 😢 The staff weren’t busy (except for the loud chat) so there was no excuse for dirty tables and a lack of welcome.

Beautiful food! Can get very busy lots to choose from on the menu. Home made food! Serves coffee, tea, soft drinks, cocktails, wine and beers.

Having passed by so many times without visiting, I now realise just what I have missed. As it happened, I had my dog with me so it was a bonus to be able to sit outside (in the sun as it turned out and without a downpour occurring every five minutes) whilst I decided what to order. I only fancied something light so I asked if they 'did' omelettes. 'No' came back the reply but there is no reason why we cannot, "what would you like?" So that is why I ended up with a cheese omelette, side salad and cappuccino. I did not leave so much as a lettuce leaf so nicely was everything presented. The service was excellent, the food delicious and nothing was too much bother. At just over £5 in total it was excellent value for money. I do not know why I have walked passed for so long and never entered but it certainly will not be long before I visit again.

Really nice place to visit for breakfast, lunch and evening drinks. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the food is homemade and really good quality. They brew freshly ground coffee and offer a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and cocktails to die for! A great place to meet for a business lunch / meeting also. A must visit!

What's happened to the delux fishfinger sandwich, these used to be really nice, nice bread, and lovely fish fingers My last one was on a rather bland French stick and the fish fingers tasted the opposite of delux It's a lovely restaurant in other respects...

We came on a night out round Pontefract, this place got recommended, the best cocktails in town they told us and they were right. The staff were friendly and accommodating, there was live music on and a free Buffett, had a blast thank you.
