This cafe was an excellent find as we were new to the area and very welcoming it was on a very cold day. The porridge was excellent as were the scones. A must visit tea room.

Not having been back to Pontefract for over 25 years, we found this little cafe quite by accident as we were desperate for a drink. Although it is small, the welcome was anything but. We only had a hot chocolate each, but had my better half not been on a diet, he would have tackled one of the many specials on offer. What I saw coming from the kitchen looked very nice indeed, and there is a vast amount of choice on the menu. An excellent cafe in every respect.

This is a very nice cafe - that I travel from Barnsley to when going to Ponty I's a very nice place indeed and good vaule for moneyfor meals Though it has changed owners it's still good, but I'm missing the Chicken Pie and Lasgne from the Menu - 2 personal faves, but it's still a very very good cafe and ashas been said elsewhere here - the best in Ponty!!

I sat outside with my elderly mum and we each had a coffee. The staff were friendly and service was good. It was mid-morning and the café was quite busy, outside and in, so we were grateful to get seats, The atmosphere was really nice and the surrounding area was very pleasant with St. Giles Church being the dominant feature. we could have been in Cambridge or any other affluent town or city with this wonderful backdrop. My mum's passed away now, bless her, and I'll always remember this café with fondness.

It was quite a small place which felt somewhat unclean and cramped. The food was alright, I had an English breakfast, but it wasn't anything special. For the price, however, I didn't mind. The one strong point here is the price, it's very cheap. The experience there isn't exactly something to praise though. It's just too small and the whole seating area just feels a little unhygienic. It's good for what you get, but I probably won't eat here again.

We were looking for somewhere to have a cuppa in Pontefract and unable to find the usual chains of coffee shops we passed this cafe. On entering it was almost full of what seemed regular customers so we stopped for a coffee and hot chocolate and a custard tart. All very nice and not overpriced. One small criticism is there was a very limited choice of cakes available.

Although on the small side, and very simply furnished, I really like this cafe. There is nothing modern or pretentious about it and the menu is likewise. From the ubiquitous all day breakfast it ranges to healthy lunch dishes such as salads and baked potatoes, to more substantial fare such as meat pies with all the trimmings, and a good selection of other main meals. We only wanted a snack, and how nice to have to choose between comforting favourites like cheese on toast, chips and gravy and an array of hot and cold sandwiches. We opted for bacon butties, which were very good. The cafe was busy while we were there, and the constant hubbub of chatter between customers and with staff made it almost feel like a local lunch club. The atmosphere was good; the service was friendly; and the prices very reasonable. Cracking cafe.

Tiny little place full of friendly staff. Basic menu but well cooked and presented. Too small to have a loo but public one is around the corner.

This place is so well priced and the menu is fantastic. Old fashioned hot chocolates, great breakfasts, lovely meals and puddings. I can't wait to go back for my next meal. Elaine is very personable and many regular cutomers walk in and it's clear she knows what they want without asking. Breakfasts are £3.95 to £4.95 for an all day breakfast. I HIGHLY recommend this cafe.

Passed by here many times before but as the main part seemed a little run down we hadn't given it a second thought. This time however, We were in need of a break as our journey had been fraught with heavy traffic so we pulled in and were so glad that we did. A very pleasant refreshment stop, with helpful, friendly and smiling staff meant that we stayed a little longer than intended. We shall definitely call in again when travelling this route.

Visited yesterday, very pushy staff. I like time to spend looking but seemed to be pushing too much to buy so went without buying anything. I wont visit again.
