My friend and I do visit the Turnpike quite often. On this occasion we decided to celebrate Mother's Day as my family had been unable to visit me today. The meal was delicious as always. First time I have had the carvery and I was really impressed. So much choice and it was all delicious. Had a good laugh with Mary. She is always very pleasant and helpful and is always ready to have a laugh. She is just such a lovely lady

Arrived without a booking on Mother's Day and a very helpful staff member named Tony, greeted us he was very pleasant and helpful. Food waa hot and effiieient service. Well worth a visit.

We visited turnpike for the Mother’s Day menu. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and the staff were very polite and welcoming. We normally come to this restaurant regularly. Over the visits we have become friendly with Sav. Sav is always welcoming and has a huge smile on her face every time we see her. Sav can’t do enough for you probably by far one of the most friendliest staff members. We have created a friendship with Sav and always look out for her when we come to the restaurant. Sav is friendly all round with all customers and is willing to help everyone that she greets.

The Sunday carvery was lovely and the food was spot on and Ryan the chef deserves 5 stars as he was been very present to his customers

5 star breakfast as always, fast friendly service as always. You can’t beat 9.99 for all you can eat. Can’t fault the place.

Certainly won’t be going in here again. Food was dreadful. Nachos were like eating cardboard, absolutely tasteless. Tables dirty and sticky. Not recommended I’m afraid

Mind boggling how this restaurant is still able to trade. Absolutely filthy. Food inedible. Staff at the end of their tether. We stayed at the Premier Inn next door ( another story for another review!) I suppose we shouldn’t have been surprised. Just avoid.

Amazing welcome from Tony at Brewers Fayre after a 3.5 hour drive. Clean, spacious and power sockets to work whilst here too.

Got to be the worst tasting beer Iv ever tasted. The mixed grill. Was half a chicken breast. Half a gammon and half a stake. About 10peas and a smal very small had full of chips costing me £17. The worst by fare. Do not eat here and when you do compline you are treated with rudeness from the stafff. Absolutely disgraceful

What a fantastic carvery shame about the attitude of other customers towards Stacey they walked in with no booking and children after been told there was no seats available in children play area was offer one table which they could see there child through the window but wasn't happy with either saying you might be happy to do that with your child but I'm not no member of staff deserves this the staff at the restaurant are absolutely fantastic and deserve to be treated with respect not abuse

Excellent food cooked to perfection. Staff couldn't do enough 4 you especially Karen and Tony. Good selection of food only thing my partner said and Karen agreed would be nice to have tinned plum tomatoes as a option. But all in all Excellent experience.

Tony the manager went above and beyond to make our experience as pleasant and as easy as possible. Travelling with a disabled person is difficult, but Tony ensured that we were seated well and had everything we needed. Tony also assisted with putting mobility equipment...

Was sat down and only had 1 person on till. 7 in queue to order food. Booked table for 5.45 and didn't leave till 8.15. Only 2 course meal, shouldn't take 2.5 hrs to fetch a main and dessert fetched to you. Overcharged me too...

Absolutely fab breakfast, amazing value, kids well looked after and a play park and soft play to run around in whilst we relaxed over coffee. Highly recommend. Really attentive service from Karen, she warmed our croissants! 🥐 Totally made Shrove Tuesday a breeze!! 🥞🍋

Breakfast very poor eggs were pre cooked likely hours ago on the buffet and were not good at all. Bacon overcooked - they can’t even get the basics right at breakfast - poor effort. Staff very pleasant - mentioned the poor food quality to them...

Food was sub par. Staff were rude. Really diss appointed with the experience. Over heard another table having a horrible experience too. When they complained they were met with an angry response from the manager. Who then went and laughed about it behind the bar...

Absolutely disgusted with the Managers attitude towards myself and family. My family over from Spain so thought soft play area and lunch would be great. Play area not open till 12 so after waiting 45 minutes told it was shut for the day...my two nephews...

To start with the positives. Staff were pleasant and car parking easy, probably because it was practically empty. After eating the food it quickly became evident why. Food was lukewarm and not value for money. We will not be back.

Absolute shambles from start to finish drinks purchased to then told 40 minute wait on food due to big party. Fine. Ordered all food to come together. Starter came, on its own, no one cleared starter plate then told waitress that was cleaning table next...

We decided to eat after a long journey ..just to relax without going out as stopping next door in the premier inn. Was hard to order drinks as it seemed like to much hard work for staff who couldn't be bothered. We booked a table for food and wished we hadn't bothered. Took 45 minutes for them to take our order then another 45 minutes for two starters to arrive. We finished them then waited over an hour for our main courses. I work in hospitality and would say they wasn't busy as you've got to pre book a table..Next morning we booked for breakfast . What a difference. The staff was so different..Fran who served us couldn't do enough for us. She is a real credit to you. She could teach the evening staff a few things about customer service. Many thanks to Fran for the fantastic breakfast service..

Just had breakfast at the Turnpike with my daughter and granddaughter and the service was brilliant. Fantastic choice of food served especially as I'm vegetarian and sometimes struggle. Tony and Fern were the perfect hosts. We will definitely be making return trips.

My wife and myseld went to eat at that "joke" for a restaurantwith a "joke" for service by staff who do apparently do not know how to serve and how to do customer service in general plus quite rude. We ordered two dishes and mine was served with hairs from the people who are supposed to be called "chefs" but apparently have not a clue neither about cooking or about food safety and hygiene. I told the waitress not to bother ordering another as I already was put off.

Every year me and my 5 friends and our 6 children meet up for our annual secret Santa swap, I use the turnpike regular for softplay as its clean and tidy and tables are close by so I can monitor my child, the food is always quick and tasty and the refill drink machines are really good value. But I've never been as a 12 we had no idea they were hosting breakfast with Santa so the restaurant was very busy, the whole team was very quick to help us find a big enough table and to fit us in for a visit with santa, the breakfast was brilliant great selection of warm and cold choices that kept all 6 of the little ones happy and quiet. My little boy is quite shy and takes a while to warm up, so I was so impressed with the patience and care santa had with him, it was very busy but instead of rushing him to get to the next child, santa asked him questions until he warmed Up, Thankyou I really appreciate the extra time so that his experience was special, I went into the grotto part on my own so thought it was such a lovely touch that Mrs santa asked if I had a camera or phone so she could capture it for us ❤️ thankyou! Debbie and the whole team were so friendly and helpful we had such a lovely secret santa swap thankyou for taking such good care of us.

I visited Brewers Fayre Turnpike this evening, I brought my niece and nephew out for some food.

Visited today for the first time with my son. Alana was incredibly cheerful, fantastic with my son and the epitome of fantastic customer service. She is an absolute credit to the place. Nothing was too much much trouble. Food was good, play area clean and good size.

We were staying at the premier inn next door and took advantage of the breakfast and evening meal deal , well we pleasantly surprised the dinner, and breakfast were excellant all nicely cooked and presented, the staff were very pleasant and friendly will definitely visit when we come this way again

Stayed at the premier inn for the weekend with my family, had two meals and two breakfasts here and couldn’t fault the service. Food was lovely and so quick, pleasant staff. Fran and Mel were excellent at breakfast time! Can’t wait to come back again.

As always the service and food were 1st class atmosphere good, staff friendly and Emily Johnson is a credit to your company attentive without being to pushy making sure you feel welcome and a valued client well done staff your a credit !!!!!

We had the rib-eye steak last night, two for the price of one. The steak was a good sized portion. I asked for medium to rare my wife asked for medium to well done and I must say the steaks were cooked to perfection! The staff were friendly and attentive, and despite being busy the food was served quickly, piping hot and presented well, a really nice experience and will come again

Stayed in the Premier Inn next door so booked in for breakfast. In offer were both cooked and continental and children can have whatever they want as long as one adult pays for cooked.

Debbie is absolutley amazing, came and got all our girls names to identify our birthday girl. Came singing with our birthday cake, came with plates and a knife to eat cake with. Brought ballons to table, kept checking our birthday girls was okay. Debbie was really polite helpful and very child friendly, not just with our kids. Debbie made our visit so special, she usally works on breakfast so honoured to get you on a night shift. THANK YOU SOO MUCH to debbie xxx

I stayed here a couple of nights for business, and really enjoyed the breakfast and evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We attended as a group of 5 with a baby and were greeted by Fran who pointed us in the right direction of our booked table. Staff at the bar when ordering drinks were friendly and quick to serve. The restaurant was busy the evening we went so when ordering our food a lot of the dishes were unavailable but because the menu is extensive we selected alternatives. Having ordered food we sat waiting, the atmosphere and ambience was nice. Fran made sure we were all ok throughout the evening, apologising for delays with food due to it being a very busy evening. Our food arrived and it was very nice everyone enjoyed it. There was a bogoff offer on which made it better for us all but prices generally are good and they run a daytime offer. Fran made sure we were all ok and happy with our meals throughout and after our meal which we appreciated. We noted that at the end of the night she seemed to be the only one that was tidying and cleaning the tables as we didn't see anyone else for a food 20 minutes. Excellent work :)

We came a little later for a carvery and it was nice and calm. We were seated immediately and the staff were very hospitable. Tony, behind the carvery was really welcoming. Altogether I had a very enjoyable experience.

Hubby & I fancied a nice pub lunch and decided to visit the Turnpike - what a waste of £34 - the food was awful. I had the Caesars Salad, the dressing was bland, the croutons looked like they had been deep fried and glistened with the oil, the bacon was extremely fatty and the chicken was completely dried out! Hubby had a whole rack of ribs that had hardly any sauce and were also dry and tasteless. Wish we'd gone to the Carlton instead.

We decided to walk out to our local. The Turnpike. It’s friendly staff and amazing value for money food is just a little walk away. Tonight we pre booked our table which was ready set out and reserved for us. We had plenty of room as it was round table so felt comfortable. I ordered the fish platter and a house Italian white wine, finished off with a mint aero desert. Tonight was busy but the team still had chance to take us to our table and gave excellent customer service with a smile. The wait time to be served was fine and we had a little chat in the queue on what dishes were were going to have. Sav served us. She is great. I would like to think Laura for her attentiveness. She made us feel very welcome and valued customers. Her customer service is second to none. Thank you for having us and we look forward to seeing you all again.

Excellent service and wonderful food. Good value for money with great deals. A lady called Fran served my Dad and I, we received excellent laid back service. 10/10 recommend.

At 2 main meals for £8.99 or bogof this was well worth the visit. My partner had fish & chips and had good sized fish. My curry with rice and naan was tasty and portions both adequate. Will go again.

Just to say we recently had a great 5-night stay as a group of us, and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality by restaurant staff - in particular Fran who looked after us every morning at breakfast. Nothing was too much for her and she cheered up our mornings with her chatty and bubbly character. She deserves a massive pat on the back for excellent customer service!

Wow! What a difference it makes having someone like Fran around to welcome you and assist you while you get your breakfast after a very restless night with two over excited kids! Super friendly and warm welcoming us for breakfast and asking if there was anything else we needed then to give her a shout. She couldn’t do enough for us all (kids included) and gave the vibe that she was happy to be at work and serving us!! :) what a contrast from the evening before when the staff obviously didn’t want to be there, as well as the very slow service! We wish every customer service type person was just like Fran!!! Thanks again! :)

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The smothered chicken is a banger lads. Would highly recommend Chloe as shes now an honorary member of the lads. Cheers mush :) Definitely roll through if your in need of solid bit of scran. The atmosphere if i were to describe it in one word that word would be welcoming.
