We were staying in an AirBnB opposite the bakery so popped in to get some lunch to eat later in the day on the way home. I had a lovely wholemeal roll filled with Cajun chicken and salad and it was delicious.

We visited this carvery on October 27th 2024 and i have no words! Firstly, Staff greeted us soon as we walk through the door and got us a table straight away! We had a toddler (2 year old) and we didnt even have to ask for a highchair. Our 2 year old is very picky with food and cutelery and they had a box of plastic spoons/forks/knifes. They even brought her a little yorkshire pudding and she enjoyed very much. We went to get our food and as soon as i tried my meal (i got mash,broccoli,turkey,yorkshire pud and gravy) it was speechless. It was so tasty but my only no about this carvery is the dessert price.. I think it was £5.50 or closer, personally i thought it was a bit pricey.. but overall it was a great experience and i would definitely come again!

Absolutely stunning pub! Fantastic food (amazing gluten free options!!!!) staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, they catered to all of my food intolerances and allergies perfectly and where happy to talk through options and modifications. Will definitely be back thanks so much!

Cannot believe reviews from Dan P, Tracey H and Paul Sanderson, £18 for a starter and main course is not expensive unless you usually eat at wetherspoons or similar. Food is excellent, staff are excellent. If you want more meat on the carvery they are more than happy to give it to you, all you need to do is ask. Keep up your good work chequers inn.

Honestly awful!!! couldn’t check in as the reception was full to the brim with wedding guests. The wedding aftermath continued on and our room was shaking from the music until 1AM. Literally had our tv on full volume and could still hear the music over the tv sound. Reception reccomended using their library room … yes sure we will sit in a library room until 1AM :/ honestly would avoid at all costs

Always consistent. Lovely traditional pub in great location with top notch food.and beer. A Sunday favourite for us and would definitely recommend.

Excellent amount of vegetables although would have preferred it a bit warmer. Staff excellent and couldn't do enough for us.
