Great atmosphere ,cheap prices, great choice,

I love a pub with a great atmosphere and you can't beat this. Tuesday afternoon, and it's buzzing. All having a cracking time playing bingo, extremely friendly service, and betting slips available on the wall, and it serves John Smiths Bitter. Pure class !!!

Always a great place to visit. Good choice if drinks, excellent prices and a great atmosphere to boot.

I was surprised at how busy it was. I went on a Friday night. They had karaoke on. The Dj was very good. It was a great atmosphere. Everyone joined in with the singers.

What can I say, we loved it, visited on a Saturday afternoon so full of locals meeting up , watching the sports on TV'S and enjoying a good selection of beers and wine 🍷, say no more.

It's an old-fashioned scruffy pub with scruffy people and smelly toilets. Ok if you want a couple of cheap pints, and it's always full, but I would rather go to spoons for a cheap drink. My husband likes a couple here so I tolerate it

It's a lovely place we go on a Tuesday and play bingo and enjoy a good pint my girlfriend is disabled and they help her the landlord and wife are lovely and friendly so are the people

Visited Knaresborough from Leeds - it was a lovely hot day, however my pint was spoiled by a yapping dog that would not stop barking. Please landlord or landlady, have consideration for customers drinking outside.

Lovely pub in the city centre, mainly for the older people who like a get together and a chat,sports on the T.V. with a good bit of music in the background, good choice of beers, lagers and ciders, wines and spirits. Excellent table service and great prices ,would recommend,with a rest room, wheelchair access and short stay parking,pay and display about 100 yds away .

Free for all and drugs outside the back been taken.

Very good. Drinks very reasonably priced with Sky and BT Sports channels showing the main live games. Excellent . Staff always friendly and helpful. Covid precautions in force and well implemented. No complaints at all

Very surprised here. The premises is spotlessly clean. It is so cheap for a pint. All social distancing measures in place. Well recommended

Pretty standard pub, pretty quiet. One pool table with no music and limited lunch time menu. Fairly priced but not a lot of choices when it comes to booze.

It was no trouble at all for them they made us very welcome.

I love this place. Spent many great times in here, they get the best bands and the best karaoke nights! Love the pub dog, snoopy and Eugene too!

Scruffy pub! sofas ripped to bits by dog or claws, soft furnishings have more animal hairs on them than a mohair jumper.. Smell of animals is strong. Could be a decent pub as landlord is friendly. Wife went to loo and said they were disgusting the public loos in the car park are cleaner so worth using them instead. Will update review once the flea bites are showing!!!!!

Came here while visiting the area, well I can’t fault the welcome from the landlady, she made us feel very welcome, lovely food, we both had the sausage mash fresh veg & onion gravy !!! Wow amazingly good value, two meals for £10 yeeeeh we will be back 😀

Lovely place to stay, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff are very helpful and will do anything to make your stay great. Breakfast was beautiful, struggled to eat everything as there was souch. Thank you will definitely be back again 🙂

Very friendly staff. Lovely welcome on arrival and Wendy certainly went out of her way at breakfast which was lovely. Beautiful place to go and have a break. Accommodation was comfortable.

Stayed here a number of times. Fantastic guy Eugene, great staff, nothing too much trouble. Clean, tidy, great breakfast, omelette for breakfast recommended, disco noisy, on Friday and Saturday, but hey its not the Ritz, definitely value for money. Go on book it.

Good range of food and drink. Had to wait long time to be served though. Atmosphere good. Facilities (washrooms) need improvement.

We were pleased to see the "Dogs Welcome" sign so we called in for lunch, there was a very friendly welcome from the landlady and the offer of a bowl of water for our little fella. The pub has an olde world charm about it, is very clean and the regulars appeared a friendly bunch. The menu was usual pub fayre and it wasn't difficult to choose what we wanted. The prices are reasonable for a pub in the centre of town close to the castle. As mentioned by others despite not being over full the food took an age to arrive but when it did it was well cooked and presented. Based on the food alone I would rate the pub as average for the area but considering the welcome and cleanliness it gets a very good plus we will eat there again when next in the area.

Terrible beer, tasted like it had been sat in the pipes for ages. Felt threatened by the larger group of "lads" getting ridiculously hammered. Left quickly.

Proper Pub.. a bit rough round the edges but the burgers they serve are very good.

proper old fashioned pub with a great atmosphere and a very bad darts team. Great beer and a fantastic location and good car parking nearby. Accomodation is old but very clean and the breakfast is out of this world. Worth a visit
