Cosy couple of drinks and meals in the snug next to the log burner. Giant fish, chips and mushy peas for me and gammon, egg, chips and mushy peas for the good lady. All well cooked, good portions and chef and staff were very helpful. Will visit again soon!

This was a poor experience. Granted, we had a nice welcome and the place initially looked clean and inviting. The drinks came and the garlic mushroom starter which were lovely, and at that point we thought we was on to a winner. However, the main was disgusting. Two of us ordered the same pie main, and yet the pies were completely different, one was square and one was rectangle! The mash was disgusting, I accept some lumps, but I don’t accept raw boulders of potato in it. The veg was microwaved to an inch of its life and was served drowning in water. The other main, steak and salad with all the trimmings, was I am sure, braising steak; it was like chewing an old boot. The onion rings that were meant to be on the plate didn’t make an appearance! The chips were like the steak only not as tough. We decided to give to puds a miss. Went to the loo before leaving, the gents were disgusting, most of the previous meals were left around the toilet bowl!! And it stunk. Finally went to pay and the card machine wasn’t plugged in or charged…after a while he got it going and asked me how much was the bill. I was honest and told him the correct amount, In hindsight I should of knocked some off! We won’t be returning but kudos to the young lad serving with the little ear studd, he was working hard, was pleasant and professional, I don’t think him alone will stop this ship from sinking!

0 STARS!!! Went in waited 20 minutes for a menu, got told there was no parmos which was a bad start. Ordered the haddock and chips it was possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had I feel like I’m going to spew, the fish was covered in an inch of uncooked batter, the chips tasted like they came out of a 3D printer and the peas were stone cold. The skinny little boy behind the bar told me I could have some discount after I complained then came out laughing saying he knocked a couple of quid off. Would not recommend, wouldn’t even feed it to my dog.

Worst Sunday lunch I think I've ever had. Myself and my wife both had the beef which was horrible. It was the most fatty, chewy beef ever. How it was curled on our plate didn't suggest it had been carved off a joint but more re-warmed in a pan. Should've known really, all other pubs in the area were fully booked but this had plenty of space. Says it all really. Won't be going back here.

The front of house (one guy on his own) was polite and friendly. Help yourself to a limited choice of cereal, tea & coffee and toast. The rest is ordered from the kitchen. We went for a full English with everything. Eggs were lovely as were hash brown bites and beans. Tinned tomatoes had been over sweeted for our pallet. Although it was quite the customers that were in (locals) were really friendly and the chef was very welcoming and quiet a comedian. The portions were quite large which for many is a bonus but we are quite small eaters and so had to leave quite a lot. For us the ideal thing would have been able to get a smaller portion or light bites as I hate wasting food. Sunday meal looks an ideal choice for us as they do a child's portion so we will be back to try that.

Booked a table for 5, waitress took us to a table with 4 chairs and then left us. Never received a menu, had to ask what was available. Never received a drink menu. Waitress returned after 2 minutes to ask what drinks we want. Drinks were served. We were then left for about 30-40 mins until a waitress shouted across the pub ‘did you order yet’. Got the pork sunday roast. Pork overdone. Vegetables all came in same bowl and were soggy. Bottom of the bowl filled with water. Table next to us started kicking off about the food quality and who I assume was the owner was not professional in the slightest. Very awkward and embarrassing. Left pretty quick after food, had to go and ask for the bill because we had waited another 30 minutes with no sight of waiting staff. They ended up charging us completely the wrong bill, but it was about £30 cheaper than what we should have paid so can’t complain.

The quality of the food at this pub is very poor and if you challenge it all you will be met with is the "manager" talking absolute rot and threatening to bring the "chef" out. I had sirloin steak and couldn't cut it with the steak knife. It was cremated on outside bleeding inside. THE WORST STEAK IVE EVER HAD. Neither me or my friends could chew any of it. I was told by the waitress "chef has taken this off your bill", however, the manager changed her mind 10 mins later and only took half the cost off the bill. Another dish to avoid is the cod loin...I've never seen or smelt anything as weird. Their homemade chips would be nice if they changed the fat more often. All in all, menu has wrong serving times on (says 12-9pm on it) which is 12-3pm, they can't even spell sirloin, I had a SIRLION steak and my friend asked for a margaritta from their menu. 🤣 it's completely laughable. The only nice thing was the frozen garlic bread tbh. The new owners need to make some serious changes. Was reviewing the pub for a very busy holiday let so they could have had some regular business, but in its current state we would not recommend. AVOID THIS PLACE

What a shame, we chose to eat here for business purposes. The food was awful, I had the cod loin with a 3 cheese sauce, but on arrival the cod was caked in a smelly dark grey sauce and cod smelt off. We could all smell it while the plate was being placed in front of me. I cut the cod open and left it, advised the waitress there was a funny smell coming from the plate and that I can’t eat it. She took the dish away and advised no charge because I did NOT Eat it. Lots of spelling mistakes on the menu, too much choice and the salads on the plate consist of egg, fruit and flowers ( what’s that saying, you can’t polish a t….. ? ) The manager was cleaning cutlery in a bucket on the shop floor and when it came to paying for the bill I had to pay half the price. As I questioned this she then replied with “ I can’t give away free food “ Missing the point completely that I did not even eat any of the meal. Assertiveness skills are needed along with chefs training course, grammar skills and better food suppliers. They should also stipulate what 3 cheeses were used to make the sauce because by the stench of it it was made with blue cheese which is the least favourite cheese eaten in the UK. None of us will be recommending this facility at all.

Well.. where do I start... To say this place has just 're-launched' itself, I'd make the suggestion to give it up as a bad job already. We were seated and almost instantly heard a bellow from the kitchen of 'no more pizzas' yet it was only shortly after opening at 5pm? Underprepared kitchen. One member of staff 'rearranging' himself on full view of paying customers before strolling back into the kitchen.. Staff unsure of what was actually available off the menu, the menu which was so badly done (wrong times as to what is advertised on the Internet, different items and half of which was misspelt). Food arrived and half of our group's food was inedible, foul smelling clearly off fish, cremated yet still bleeding steak all served alongside a salad drenched in dressing and random bits of fruit and egg floating around. The lovely young waitress took the inedible food away as the smell of the fish was terrible and told us they wouldn't need to be paid for. We finished our drinks and asked for the bill, to which we had already been told the two items would be removed off and told 'the manager has taken off £10' 🤣 so we questioned this and were told she is behind the bar if you would like to go talk to her. Having heard the people before us also expressing their dissatisfaction with their meal, she was stood hands on hips just waiting for the next complaint. We have never been addressed so rudely, now a manager (clue is in the job title) is responsible for managing the establishment, all their staff and responsibilities lie with them, yet the Cat Slater of Beeford seemed to think differently. Embarassing herself and her staff is all I will say. I think it's quite clear we will not be returning here, and others should definitely think twice before considering wasting their evening and money.

I wanted to try this place after everyone seemed so positive about the food. Unfortunately my experiance was not as expected! The salad on both starter and main was drowned in dressing making it not good at all. The prawns were average, the steak was average, the mash tasted of powder, the sausages were not high quality butchers meat (which the price would suggest they are). Majorly over seasoned peppercorn sauce which was unedible for myself, shame really as the place does look alright. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

We chose this pub after doing a search on local dog friendly pubs, and chose it based on some positive reviews and feedback. It is indeed in a lovely location and is very popular, especially on the summer Sunday evening we arrived. However on approaching the door we saw the dreaded Sorry No Dogs sign at the door. No matter we thought, we can perhaps sit outside on the benches. My wife went in to enquire about the booking I’d made where I’d stated we were coming with a dog (to which we had no reply saying no dogs), and if we can perhaps sit outside instead. The woman who spoke to my wife was abrupt and rather rude. She told us we need to leave the dog in the car (!!!) . I thought we can do better than that and we all got back in the car and went to Knaresborough where we had a lovely Sunday evening dinner in a dog friendly pub - all three of us.

From walking into the building we were greeted by rude staff. We had booked a table for a group of us. We were told our table was around the corner (not even showed to the table) which I found rude in itself. We were asked even before we had ordered if we would be paying separately (which I think is fairly standard these days!?) when we said we would be, the waitress scoffed and rolled her eyes. Plates were slapped down on the table by the waitress. When asking for the bill the waiter was quite rude about how we were paying. They charged my friend for more drinks then she had and when she brought this up to the waiter he rolled his eyes and scoffed. Having spent over £200 I was shocked at the customer service we received. We will not be returning again- shame as the food was nice! As a group of women who are nearly in their 40’s, we were treated like a group of teenagers!

Have visited the Tiger Inn on a number of occasions before but felt disappointed this time. Despite booking in advance we were made to feel quite unwelcome from the onset. I don’t believe we are particularly tricky customers yet we were treated as if our table took great effort and was frankly a bit of an inconvenience. The food was generally OK but not up to the standard I have experienced before. However, due to the way we were being treated, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable to give any constructive feedback on the food if we had been asked, which we were not. I have recommended this place to others often but my recent experience would make me reconsider doing so.

My wife and I were really impressed with the tiger inn, we had the mushrooms and pate for starters and sea food pancake and the belly pork for mains all the dishes were really tasty and the portions were impressive. The staff were really friendly and nothing was to much trouble, all in all a great experience and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Chose this place as it was close to where we were staying. Its nicely decorated and looks appealing. We waited ages for someone to take our order, they went to the next table who asked for a few more minutes to look at the menu but didn't ask us if we were ready to order, then when they went back again and took the next tables order they still didn't come to take our order for a further 5 minutes. However, no sooner had we ordered than our meals arrived! We were slightly surprised at the appearance of the chips which were a very dark brown but didn't comment as we thought they were maybe skin on fries or something like that. Unfortunately they were burnt and everything fried after them in the same cooking fat would also taste burnt. My fish was superb but both of the meals were spoiled. We mentioned this when the server came to clear the plates and she did apologise and said the chef often overcooked the chips and she would let him know but when the bill arrived nothing had been deducted at all. We paid at the bar and after our disappointing meal I didn't feel inclined to leave a tip which appeared to irritate the barmaid who appeared surprised when I waited for my change and didn't get as much as a thank you. Additionally the car park is a nightmare, it's just a free for all, people just parking everywhere blocking others in and not giving a second thought as to our other drivers are going to get out of the blocked in spaces. One to avoid in future..

Family Birthday meal for 12 today And it was a very pleasant experience. Nothing too much trouble and the food was the quality of a top Restaurant. I will say that the black pudding starter was the best that I have ever tasted and I’m a “fair” age. I was informed it is home made, and if so it shows in the finished product. Simply Devine. If you haven’t tried this place then the only thing you have to do is put it on the bucket list and just do it.

Would have given this no stars if that were an option! I made a reservation for a lunchtime 2 weeks in advance. When my friend and I arrived(we had both driven a considerable distance to meet up) the pub was closed. Was it too much trouble for them to telephone and let me know they would not be open? However, we went to the Dacre Arms at Brandesburton, instead. That was fantastic. We will go there in future. Won't bother to try and get into the Tiger again.

The Tiger is not what you would call sophisticated dining but it does what it does well. It opens all day during its opening days and serves food throughout the day with discounts before 4.30pm so it attracts a lot of retired folk. The food...

This place has changed its name now and I can’t remember what it’s called. I went in for a sandwich which was lovely but the place…. Oh goodness! It really needs a rethink. It’s tiny and full of heavy tables and bulky old furniture that makes it really difficult to get around. It’s not shabby chic unfortunately, it’s missing the chic!! Outside looks ok but the new owners need to have a rethink of the interior. Also, when people leave it’s a good idea to clean the tables! Its not inviting to come in and see that tables haven’t been cleaned and there’s no excuse when the place is so quiet.
