The service was so friendly and efficient; typical Yorkshire! Would have liked a better range of cakes (really fancied a curd tart!) however they don’t do them. Cakes were a bit on the “calorific”‘side.

Booked for an early evening meal. The pub was extremely warm and welcoming and the service was excellent. There was a good menu supported by a comprehensive specials board. The meal was delicious and really quite faultless.

Sat at an outside table in the sun. I ordered Fish Tacos. Took a while to arrive as they were busy but worth the wait. The scones are my usual go to as they are amazing but they didn't have any left! Have eaten here many times but never experienced their Gin bar.

Average Sunday lunch. Not great, not poor just average. Being nearly Christmas the menu included Turkey which we had. There was a lot of food, in fact too much for the plates which made eating it difficult. Absolutely drowning in gravy as well. Vegetables were OK apart from the almost raw sprouts. I am not keen on mushy sprouts and prefer them to be firm but these were definitely not in the pan long enough. Service was very slow even though it was not too busy. They should invest in larger plates.

Got vouchers as a gift and then was saddened to hear they were closing, love,y ride across to find it very welcoming inside, the menu was varied We had the lamb and shepherds pie, small portions but beautifully served hot and very tasty. The desserts were tasty and presented with a tasty dressing The Venue is excellent, the food was beautiful and the staff were an absolute credit to the owner, sad it is closing

The Green Tree used to be our go to pub for a Sunday lunch treat, we went a few times last year, always enjoyed the fun staff & atmosphere, but now seems to be under new management? No welcome on arrival & food is now mediocre at best. Will not return.

We stayed here as a pretty random stop between Cambridgeshire and Scotland, and what a great choice. The pub is the life-blood of the very pretty village of Snape and run by a delightfully obliging couple. Breakfast was great and the lunch/dinner [5pm so between the two!] was top quality with locally sourced meats, far surpassing our expectations. Very well kept Theakstons Best ale. Our room was cosy and while a little cramped, had all we needed for a one night stay including kettle etc. In a really helpful gesture, the owners called us on the morning before our arrival to warn us about that evening's early closure so that we could arrive in time to eat.

After a visit to the Polar Express we decided The Reuben’s looked like a good option for dinner. Oh how wrong we were, the food was dreadful, our children opted for the home made Pizza with chips and beans, they took one bite of the pizza and that was it. It didn’t look great and after trying it myself I couldn’t bring myself to force the children to eat anymore. My wife had the beef pie and that was poor with poor quality meat and the pastry was rock hard, the accompanying veg was also dry and some of the carrots were black. I had the Lamb Curry, the meat in it was tough and more like mutton and the curry itself was not very tasty at all. I decided to finish with a latte that tasted like hot water with frothy milk! Onto the service, not once were we asked how our meal was and given the waitress took every plate back to the kitchen with at least 50% of the food remaining on the plates, my first question would have been was everything okay with your meal. But nope the waitress did not enquire if everything was okay, my wife even said to the waitress that the kids food was inedible which the waitress did not acknowledge! The service was slow and the staff not very attentive focusing more on the locals in the bar. Whilst waiting to order we enquired as to what the soup was the waitress wasn’t sure and went off to find out never to return with the answer! I am not one to complain and have never left a review of anything previously but given our experience was so poor I felt compelled to write this review.

Living locally we use Thomas The Baker fairly often and find their rolls tasty and good value for money- their Wensleydale Cheese and chutney roll is my favourite. Staff are friendly. Would recommend.
