The best restaurants serving British food in The Meres Shropshire West Midlands

Searched for pubs in the area to eat at whilst away for a night in Clive and we found this absolute gem of a pub. Although it was busy they found us a seat in the window. Cozy, welcoming and the most delicious food. The lady who took our order was so lovely as were the other members of staff who served us. I had steak and ale pie, my husband had steak, both were mouth wateringly good. If we ever visit the area again, we will be sampling more of the menu. Thank you for an enjoyable evening meal

A lovely pub close to the canal

We visited the Dickin Arms on Saturday 29th March whilst holidaying nearby. We had visited last year whilst on holiday and enjoyed our meal so much we wanted to return! We were delighted that they could accommodate us, having not booked, despite them being extremely busy. The staff and service were impeccable! The food was absolutely delicious, we had the 8oz fillet steak and the tandoori half chicken. We also had the white chocolate and ginger cheesecake which was incredible! Thank you to all of the staff that made our evening so lovely - we were away celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary and this was a highlight of our weekend!

Stayed her for 4 nights wish having a break with friends. The owners are friendly,and really welcoming. The breakfasts are spot on and cooked to order and of a really high quality. We ate in the restaurant all 4 nights -again the food was excellent loads of choice so there was no issues being in the same place 4 nights running. Our room was plenty large enough, loads of storage and a good sized bathroom which would benefit from a blind on the window 😁 This is a great place to stay if you want to visit Shrewsbury and everything it has to offer

The hunters chicken was amazing, the best I've had. Fish and chips was good as well along with the pie. Clean plates!!!!

Heathers entire team is an absolute credit to her. I have been staying here for the past 8 weeks whilst working away from home. Every staff member went above and beyond to provide excellent service for the duration of my stay. Barbra quickly got to know me as a regular and always ensured the food was of the highest quality. Highly recommend this busy little pub. Thank you for making my stay feel like a second home.
