Ludlow has a plethora of eating places for all tastes and all budgets but the Rose and Crown has hit the sweet spot. Owned by the Joules Brewery, there is a great selection of real ales as well as lagers and soft drinks. The food menu again caters for all tastes and the meal we both had was fresh and tasty whilst also being a perfect portion size. Hospitality was first class with a special mention for Morgan who greeted everyone with a welcoming smile showing immediate attentiveness to all. She was able to talk about all of the drinks available and was extremely efficient I her role. There is no doubt that Morgan is a real asset to the Rose and Crown, so thank you for a fantastic visit. We will definitely be back!

With all the good choices in Ludlow we chose the Feathers tea room for lunch!!On arrival we requested to sit in the garden terrace. Because of Covid we had to walk back to order, pay in advance, walk back to collect with no trays (because of Covid - excuse). The sandwiches which offered 'side salad' actually came with mixed lettuce, most of which was in a state of rotting (pictures attached). On reporting to the gentleman on the till, he abruptly answered it was delivered fresh today, no apology or offer of refund. Will not be returning here ever and advise all others to use the more suitable tea rooms offering better service, cleaner food, at more affordable prices, as we paid £17.00 for 2 sandwiches a coffee and a pop in a can.Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

We went to The Clive for Game Evening tonight. 4 courses. 1. Pheasant & smoked bacon Scotch Egg with pickled red onions, with a Cumberland sauce. 2. Partridge breast, fine green beans, beetroot, Jerusalem artichoke & truffle dressing. 3. Venison loin, pumpkin, smoked potato terrine roast parsnip, braised red cabbage, sloe gin and venison jus. 4. Blackberry & almond tart, honeycomb ice cream. Absolutely amazing.

Visited regularly for a fortnight. Much depended on the Barista on duty. On occasions the coffee was excellent but on occasions it was average and on one occasion unacceptable. Toilets were often of dubious cleanliness.Too often seats were taken by older clientele who seemed determined to make a cup last for ages so they could chat to their regular friends for an unreasonable duration.
