We didn’t have a reservation, it was a Sunday around 1 pm and they seated us quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful however there was a distinct lack of the! We got drinks quickly however sat for over 30 minutes before someone finally came to take our food order . Food was fine . Upstairs room and view is pretty sweet !

We went in for a beer after visiting the church, when I saw one of the dishes they served for lunch I knew we had to come back. Booked a table for the night, had a very tasty three course dinner. Everything we had was really delicious. Best food I had in Ludlow.

Great night at the Church Inn. Tables nicely spaced, service really good - staff attentive and helpful, there when you needed them, but didn't hover. Food really good - roast beef exceptional - as were the puds (friends said the Rum Babas were the best they had ever had - and it's a favourite of theirs!). Would definitely recommend.

Went here on a weekend break here in Ludlow to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Had seen reviews, history and it was on a list of recommendations from the cottage we were staying at. From first entrance to being seated, served and leaving, the staff without exception, were so very polite, friendly and accommodating. We went for the full three courses, and unusual Black pudding scotch egg for my husband, he loved it. A delicious baked goat cheese for myself. Heaven on a plate for himself in the form of a fish pie ,my trio of pork was equally amazing. Following this with two naughty puds which we shared , alongside having drinks of recommended tasty gins and a lovely Pink, we were sated . Someone here is a wizz and obviously loves cooking. Without a doubt this meal was tremendous. We would not hesitate to recommend this venue for a meal and ambience. Thank you to all staff for making our evening one to remember for all the right reasons.

Warm, friendly atmosphere where there seems to be a mix of locals and tourists. The building is undergoing some significant exterior renovation work, but this shouldn’t put you off a visit. The only negative was the side entrance door that was left to bang shut every time someone came or went. There were four of us, and we had a cross section of the menu. I enjoyed my calamari starter served with a dish of tartar sauce, a segment of grilled lime and some lightly dressed salad. I then had the trio of pork for the main course, which looked very appealing on the menu. However, on the place it was a little variable: the pork ball was overcooked and dry, whilst the filet was nicely sliced into bitesize pieces, some of which were dry and some less so. This seemed to be because they were waiting on the plate while the pork belly was being finished. Served with some ordinary green beans among little mounds of creamed potatoes and sweeps of apple sauce, it could have been so much better. My dining partners were happy if not effusive with their menu choices. I can certainly recommend the Argentine Malbec from the wine menu, however, and confirm that the service was friendly and professional.

6 of us called in for a drink. Saw the menu and thought it looked really nice. However 2 of the party felt that their Ludlow gold was below par. Went to the bar and mentioned it. Landlord looked to his mate at the bar, 'is yours OK??' yes he replied. His look told me everything. Most places would have at least asked to see the beer, maybe even replaced it. It was 2 halves of Ludlow gold, both drinkers knew the brew and knew it wasn't quite right. I know I sound bitter, however just being acknowledged that maybe there was a possible issue would have have made us feel better. Didn't bother earing there after that. Won't be back. I'm sure they won't care.

This is an amazing place. it’s a traditional English pub serving beautiful food. There was plenty of choice on the food menu. My colleague and I both chose the Steak and Ale pie. There was a choice of 3 locally brewed ales. The service was 1st Class by Donna and her colleague. I can’t believe that the experience was so good. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Sister pub to where we are staying. Hadn't booked and it was a busy Games Night, but we were fitted in upstairs, on our own, but that was fine. Very good host, and nice staff generally. Delicious food, especially the pies. Plenty to eat - went back to our hotel stuffed! Huge wedge of cheese, but only three small crackers; likewise with ample crumble dessert, but could have done with much more custard. Would be very happy to return.

This 14th century restaurant must have been the oldest we’ve eaten in and we’re not disappointed. Their ‘Game’ menu was brilliant. We had wild boar for starters followed by venison sausages and finished with a good old apple and fruit crumble with custard, what’s not to like?

We hadn't booked anywhere for dinner, but fortunately the Church Inn had space for us. I had excellent, perfectly cooked duck main course and my friends enjoyed their main courses. Good range of drinks. I tried the Ludlow gins! Downstairs was pretty full with the...

1st night of break. Pub quiet, quite happy to accept my business. 2 night, we wanted 1 drink before meal, walked in and approached bar, 4 staff (young lad pulling off beer). As we got to bar, "Are you eating?" "No, just want drink." I...

Right in the centre of Ludlow and clearly a popular drinking pub as well. I thought the food was very good and not particularly expensive. My hake dish was well cooked and well presented and their sticky toffee pudding was a good example of that...

Stopped off for a light lunch on a brisk day in Ludlow. Comfortable surroundings, friendly staff and great food. We tried the Camembert and Squid, followed by the Scotch egg and Ham Hock. Small portions but very tasty.

Very average meal. I had fish and chips. The fish was just about edible. It hadn't been cooked sufficiently. The mushy peas had seen too much of the microwave. The beer was off and I had to ask for a replacement. The atmosphere was more...

Strangely their sunny beer garden is right next to the Church, like having a drink in the cemetery but seems to be a fun place for the locals to meet up and was popular when we were there. We only had a drink so can't...

We were recommended this cafe and we weren’t disappointed. My husband and I had the ‘Chocks Away’ full English and as the delivery guy hadn’t been yet we had home made hash browns which were fabulous, and the eggs were double yolkers. Our friends had scrambled eggs on toast and had mounds! Highly recommend this place and the view was great.

Defensive manager does not value feedback! This place will therefore not improve. We visited the restaurant as believed it to be part of a good quality complex. Our arrival was greeted cheerfully and we were shown to a 2 seater table. That’s where any notion of customer service ended. My partner went up to the counter to order a starter and 2 meals…. Our drinks arrive promptly. …tick tick… 20 minutes go by. People who arrived after us start getting their meals… …tick tick… I go over and ask what’s happening. I’m told “It’s busy“ …tick tick… I ask again. “It’s busy.” More people who have subsequently come in are served. Eventually the manager (who I saw looking at tickets behind the kitchen) came over with our mains. No starter of soup. What followed was incredible! She insisted that the cock up was our fault! Apparently, the lack of soup was because she could not possibly know what was ordered, what should be a starter and how many people were at each table. That excuse would work in a service station, but we are talking about a place that charges handsome price’s commensurate with table service - but with no table service. We will never go back.
