Stayed with a friend who I was walking Hadrians Wall with. Great place - nice staff lovely evening meal, good local beer and wonderful breakfast. Importantly, an effective, polite, well considered and low key approach to Covid - so refreshing after some really weirdly experiences elsewhere on the walk!

Lovely village pub with lovely fresh food on the menu. I had a lovely meal here, the staff are always friendly and welcoming! Dog friendly too so even the pooch came along. Thanks for a lovely meal and drinks, I'll be back!

I have been to the Trooepr a while back for food which was good but first time trying the bottomless brunch there. A 3 course meal plus a selection of prosecco, cocktails or soft drinks. The food was lovely! There was a good selection of drinks for a bottomless brunch. Between our group each drink was sampled and they were all nice. Service was really good and quick! Staff were friendly and helpful and the pub had a busy good atomsphere. It’s also nice and cosy. Would return for brunch or just food in future 😀

Bit of weird one. I used to come here all the time. But it has been a few months since my last visit, I came here with my husband for a little date, the service was good, and our waitress was sooo lovely !! Couldnt fault her at all and was so helpful. My Husband ordered a Venison burger. He said it wasn't great, and even I was shocked on the portion of his fries. There was barely any on his plate, lol. But we brushed it off maybe it looked small portion because the plates are humongous, lol. However, when the people next to us got their order, it was a hell lot more generous size of chips. So we just brushed it off and he said oh well more room for desert lol. My steak was cooked very nice, however it came with the thicker chips, that was so undercooked it really ruined the meal, yes I ate most of them as I was starving, but my husband fries were cooked lovely, ( just not alot of them) but mine were awful, the neighbour looked at mine and said they look like they could break the windows, his words not mine haha. Also they forgot the add on to the steak which is a flat mushroom, however this was taken off the bill. We finally got to the deserts, we both ordered a salted carmal sundae, this was really nice and we both enjoyed it, however .... there wasn't any salted caramel!!! Or if there was we couldn't taste it, or again we're we unlucky and had 2 without them lol. But it was still nice without it so we didn't really mind :). Also when we arrived alot of things on the menu, we not available and we heard throughout our time there more and more items were out of stock, Maybe we caught them on an off day, as I havnt had a bad meal from them before and I've been going to them on and off for 25 years lol. The service was still really good though, the blonde waitress went above and beyond !!. Just didn't feel this time we didn't get our £70 worth.

Fantastic breakfast and lovely service from the ladies at Willow and Boar this morning. I enjoyed the pancakes and the hubby had the Crumpet burger. Amazing toilets too! Thank you, we had a relaxed morning enjoying time together.

Panini over toasted and Brie cheese consisted of rind, hardly any cranberries. Salad with panini was sad, not worth putting on the plate Salad and coleslaw had been made with old products. Staff who was waiting on in dirty T/shirt. Thick with dust on top of drinks fridge which could be seen from sitting down. All seat covers stained Skirting boards and paintwork and walls in need of a facelift. Very grubby place , won’t be going there again. For the price of over £30 with coffee , very poor.
