Not best experience. Lasagne and seabass risotto taken off menu which is such a shame. Alternative is no way as nice. Wrong wine served which was unpalatable, especially at over £10 a glass. Admittedly replaced. Bone found in burger. Thankfully no harm done but no apology or explanation provided. Very inexperienced waiter/waitress. Dont think we will be rushing back.

Nice spacious dining area with a good menu that more than caters for all tastes We were served by Emma who was very pleasant and made us all feel welcome, we have been visiting the Hollybush now for over 12 months and have had good food with nice portion sizes and have not once had any cause for complaint. This is one of my favourite restaurants as it has a beautiful energy, great food, welcoming atmosphere and all staff are professional and personable on all levels. Thank you again for being so marvellous and making my afternoon so very lovely.

Visited on Fathers day for the Sunday lunch. Service was very slow and waited over an hour for stater. Waited another 30 minutes for main and when arrived was cold. Had to ask twice for cauliflower cheese that we ordered and several times for more gravy. They did re do my lunch but rest of family could not wait and started theirs. If this was my first visit I would not visit again, however have been previously and always had a very enjoyable meal and excellent service. Maybe over stretched being Father’s Day.

We had not visited The Holly Bush for a long time and when we received an offer to visit we decided to visit one evening in June. We were welcomed by the Manager who welcomed us back and said that she was pleased to see us. After asking about the offer we both decided on the Lamb Shank Shepherds Pie that was described as: 8-hour slow-cooked lamb shank, baked into a minced lamb & vegetable pie, topped with creamy mash with a Barber’s of Somerset Cheddar crust. Served with buttered greens at a cost of £23.49 each. When it arrived it was not exactly what we had expected but after we had tried to eat the Lamb Shank it was clear that we could not separate the lamb from the bone and after testing it with my finger it was clear that it was still frozen. I asked to see the manager and she apologised and asked if we would like another and we declined and chose the Fish and Chips that were nice. She returned later and explained that the chef had not pushed the temperature probe far enough into the lamb and as an apology did not charge us for the first round of drinks. Whilst the manager was aware that we had a voucher this was not shown on the bill so we paid the full price for our meal. We had expected much better from a Chef and Brewer restaurant and will not be visiting again.

Lovely food in a chilled pub. The guy serving us was really helpful, professional and family. Used Tesco vouchers which made it even better. :-)

Family Birthday meal late Sunday afternoon. Four of the group chose the Sunday roast. Cabbage/greens were well beyond their best before date & all shrivelled up & faded. Carrots were floppy (? Out of date) but uncooked & hard to bite in their middle. Broccoli was limp & clearly microwaved. All these were left uneaten. Yorkshire pudding dominated the plate but was impossible to cut with the blunt knife so left uneaten as well. We chose not to bother with the expensive desserts as main course had been so poor. To top this expensive bad experience off, two of the group then had upset stomachs!

Excellent place to eat, very fast service and the staff were wonderful. Emma the manager was polite and on the ball with her customers and Luke and Sophie who served us were really attentive. Will definitely be back soon:)

Apologies, this review is well over due. We went for a celebratory meal on 20th March following my daughter passing her driving test. The meal was lovely. The service provided by staff, Ash & Luke, was excellent. They were both extremely attentive, held great conversation & made our evening very enjoyable. Thank you Ash & Luke. Your a credit to yourselves.

Lovely meal out with work mates top class food and well kept beer a nice Cople of pints of Guinness and a mixed grill , brilliant staff who looked after us well and brilliant service , would highly recommend going

I'm afraid I don't have a good thing to say about this trip. Food was mediocre at best. Empty starter plates were left on the table even while the mains were given out, I ended up just sitting with a plate in my hand that I had to move out of the way, it wasn't taken from me. Nobody checked to see if the food was ok, or if we wanted extra drinks. Nobody cleared the desert plates away. The service was awful. Very long waits in between courses. We felt forgotten.

We were served by Ash who contributed towards a most enjoyable evening. The manager was also part of the team that served our table and, once again, she was efficient and easy to talk to. Not always the way these days, sadly. Meals were well prepared and tasty, but another sign of the times was that prices had increased and some of the portions had decreased in comparison to previous visits to Greene and King establishments. Two members of our party planned to return the following evening for a meal with other family members, so this should be taken as a positive.

We again returned for our annual club dinner. There were 36 guests in our party and the food was served very efficiently. The food was well received and enjoyed by all our members and a good night was had by all. Thanks go to Emma and her staff.

I thought I must leave a review because I had a great experience eating here with my family for Sunday lunch .We were served by a great guy called ed and he was outstanding at his job . We never waited for anything he was there making us feel welcome and attended to our every need . All the staff are great to be fair and the Sunday lunch was the best I’ve had in a very long time . It was very well sized portions and absolutely delicious. I will be going back there very soon and might give there breakfast ago because it looks splendid.

Emma and her team are always so welcoming. . We tried some new dishes on the menu which were delicious. I had the asparagus and leek pie and my husband had the salmon. Both dishes were very good. Excellent value, lovely atmosphere and staff so friendly and welcoming.

Today was our very first time visiting this gorgeous old pub/restaurant and we absolutely loved it. Lovely place, great staff and just full of old world charm with delicious food! After ordering our drinks (a large glass of Vinoand a pint of Abotts Ale), I chose the steak and ale pie with creamy mash, a mix of freshly cooked vegetables with a very generous jug of gravy to share. Hubby chose the Glazed Pork Belly with creamy mash, vegetables. Afterwards I had the mini dessert with a generous pot of tea. All this only came to just over £50 which, for two meals with drinks and a dessert we thought was excellent value. Their new menu has just been launched btw and I can't describe how delicious every element of our meals were, the chef(s) are clearly exceptional. We'll definitely be returning soon!

A really great spot. Came out for dinner on a spontaneous night with the family. Luke, the manager, Served us and his service was spot on, could not fault him. He made time to speak to the kids and the rest of the family and was making us laugh throughout the night. We had a Chicken and Ham Pie and My husband had a steak, which was cooked to perfection, so credit to the chefs. Overall a great night. Will be back again soon.

Lovely pub always very welcoming food always good standard. Not loads of choice for vegetarian options but the options ptovided are very tasty. They are starting a new menu so looking forward to the changes.

Went for a Mothers day meal. Food was good. Josh who served us was friendly and professional- a credit to the Hollybush. Very busy but overall an excellent meal enjoyed by all.

A superb meal, we had the Rib Eyes and everything was lovely. The menu had a good range and the staff were very good. The decor and atmosphere added to a relaxed visit. Hard to find any faults, the only thing that could be improved was the Steak Knife which could have been a little more sturdy. Overall a really nice place to visit with a good range of quality food. Will revisit soon.

Ashley our server was friendly but professional. The food was lovely! Had a mixture of the chefs menus, set menu and main menu. Puddings were delicious with a coffee at the end.

Not sure where to start . Came for my birthday and it’s my favourite pub . Absolutely delicious food . Had the mushroom ale pie just so delicious. A lovely venue but Sunday dinner a big disappointment. Slow cooked rib eye steak OK but vegetables were undercooked and hard. Had refund because so poor. Everything would be so much better if the chef could learn how to cook the vegetables.
