Lovely village pub with lovely fresh food on the menu. I had a lovely meal here, the staff are always friendly and welcoming! Dog friendly too so even the pooch came along. Thanks for a lovely meal and drinks, I'll be back!

We had a fabulous meal and cant wait to go again . The staff went above and beyond to make our meal great . A lady called Mary served us and showed great knowledge in the menu and what drinks to have with our meal . Great atmosphere!

We had an excellent meal at the Railway Inn. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. The food was home cooked and fresh. I had a polish stew and dumplings that was on special and it was delicious. We will be returning very soon thank you so much! The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were so friendly and professional!

I went in the railway for a catch up and food with friends as I had been told the food was home made and had a good reputation, It didn’t disappoint it was a lovely environment nice and relaxing the food was beautiful and the lady I think was name Zoe she literally couldn’t do enough for us Thank you so much

Beer in this pub is nice food is delicious do not listen to these b.s. negative reviews you have to visit this pub for yourself and try it out atmosphere is friendly the young lovely lady i met behind the bar was a real sweetheart this is a lovely pub you have to check it out

Absolutely amazing meal. The pub was recommended to me by a member of staff so I took my family for Sunday lunch. We hadn’t visited before so didn’t know what to expect. When we arrived we had a warm welcome and quickly shown to our table. Our order was promptly taken. We ordered 3 roast dinners and were amazed at both the quality and quantity. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful, the mash creamy & the gravy thick. It was presented well and tasted amazing. We actually couldn’t finish our plates. In my daughters own words ‘that’s the best roast dinner I’ve had’ Already planning our return visit.

Went in for lunch and Chloe was very friendly. Nice food and good portion size. Would go back.

We went for Sunday lunch again!! It’s so good the service was excellent and it’s by far the best Sunday lunch we’ve had, portions are generous and very tasty

We came recently for a family Sunday lunch which was top notch, so good that I came with a friend this evening for grill night. We both had surf and turf, one with a creamy blue cheese sauce and one with red wine sauce. Delicious! Great chips too. Excellent service by Flo, she made us very welcome. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Bar lady and she was waitress too, very welcoming and friendly. Great food too.

Went on a Monday midday for a couple of beers and relax after a longish walk. Despite it being very quiet was made welcome and the Wainwright beer was good and cheaper price on a Monday. Food menu only Wednesdays to Sundays. Typical pub atmosphere, but quiet which suits me better. Guess evenings very different. Being a Marstons pub just three real ales on with the usual lagers and Guinness etc. Hoping to try the food one evening in the future.

Only had a couple of beers there. Great atmosphere, bar staff friendly and locals all good. I will be back.

This is what I would call a good old fashioned PUB. It doesn't feel rough, but at the same time it doesn't feel posh. The building and the village it is situated in is dripping in history. The food was lovely, the beer was kept really well and the staff were genuinely friendly which, in my opinion, is all you can ask for.

This public house was my Father's local and we hadn't been there for a long while. Decided to go for Sunday lunch on a hot Summer's day. I had pork which was excellent and my partner had lamb. Both meals were good. Staff were friendly but the wait was too long for my liking. If I could mark the meal good I would but it was better than average.

Went for Sunday lunch as a group of 6. We had pre ordered our food and our table was ready promptly. Zoe and her team were very attentive and checking everything was good with our food and supplying more drinks as required. The quality of the food is superb, we all ordered the Sunday roasts which were amazing and served as requested. The vegetable selection of red cabbage, peas, broccoli leeks and carrots was presented separately. All served hot and plentiful . Homemade desserts were equally enjoyable, we had cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding and jam roly-poly amongst our group and everyone was happy with their choice. Well done everyone for all your hard work in the restaurant at the railway, I will recommend without hesitation and will visit again. We are blessed in Shenstone to have several great pubs and the railway is once again up there too. Give it a go!

Fiid was amazing, we had chicken liver pate & homemade toasted bread others had steak n ale pie best they've ever had. Chloe was fantastic looking after us.

You walk through the door and it hits you, Friendly pub, A warm welcome, even for a southerner like me from the staff and a well served pint of beer, I had the chicken breast roast and my mate had the lamb and you couldn't fault it in anyway a plate full of gorgeousness and you get extras as well, But a warning to all, don't have a large breakfast in the morning as you need room for the lunch, I'm embarrassed to say I had to leave a bit, shame on me. Well recommended, no photos as I was more interested in eating it than sharing it. I'll be back......

The pub has a lovely and friendly atmosphere. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was very clean and tidy. The portions were very generous, much more so than the majority of other pubs and restaurants, and the food was of excellent quality (I had the beef and my partner had the lamb roast dinner which were both delicious). The food pricing was very fair, and fantastic value for money. The lager and wine were excellent, with a wide selection and again well priced. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do more for us on the day. They made the meal and atmosphere enjoyable. The pub has a garden area where you are able to eat and drink. The garden area is well maintained and an ideal place to enjoy a drink. Thank you for having us and can't wait to visit again.

We visited today for dinner as a family of 3, my partner had the cod and chips which was a HUGE piece of amazing cod! I had the most beautiful Cajun Pasta and my daughter had the kids pizza and chips! The staff are ever so friendly and can’t do enough for you! I would highly recommend this for a visit! 5 stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went for lunch and so I called and asked if the veggie options were good. Zoe asked me what I would like and I said a Roast without the meat. Well I had a veggie pie with gravy made especially for me. It was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfect, surroundings, service, staff, food. Going back very soon with my husband. I went to The Railway on Thursday and called beforehand to check if they had a good range of veggie options. Zoe asked me what I fancied and when I told het a Sunday dinner without the meat, she asked the chef to do just that! Img the food was beyond delicious and the chef is just amazing. This is how a pub should be, welcoming, accommodating, just fabulous. I will be back with more friends. Well done Zoe, Chloe and Yarrick ❤️

We recently held my father's wake at The Railway and from start to finish, Zoe and her team were faultless. The food was amazing and we had that many comments on how good for the food was I lost count! Zoe made the whole day so easy and nothing was too much. It was clean, very well presented and a real gem in the middle of the village. Thank you Zoe for making a tough day that bit easier with everything you did. Cannot recommend The Railway more!

It's nice to find a pub that keeps the kitchen open all day, even when they're not busy. Service was good, food was very good and huge portions too. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Really family friendly pub, accepts well behaved dogs as well. Loved the pollen toys particularly the Gnome on the counter.

Had breakfast here today and it was the best breakfast I’ve had, I had the big breakfast option and it was very taste, wasn’t greasy and the portions are very big, will definitely return and would highly recommend

The railway has recently had new owners and they’ve turned it around and make it a fantastic pub. The food is incredible, I really recommend it!

This pub is under new management and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The landlady is very friendly and welcoming and the pub is the best it has been in years. Well worth a visit, great food, great beer and a brilliant atmosphere!! What more could you want.

Second time we have had Sunday lunch at the Railway since it’s changed ownership with Zoe at the helm and the food did not disappoint. All fresh home cooked produce and so tasty. Well done - we will certainly be back for more it was fabulous.

Lovely welcome at The Railway Inn, Shenstone. I met a friend for lunch and we both really enjoyed it, good tasty proper pub food! The staff were really friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Very reasonably priced too, we'll be back!

Just had an amazing Sunday roast at The Railway, took me back 6 years. The food was fresh, cooked really well, great portions and service was excellent. All in all fantastic value. Really great to see this place rocking again and the team are so welcoming. We will definitely be recommending and have already booked for a group of us to try the weekday menu!

Lovely pub, very warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Bar staff were really friendly, good selection of drinks and great value for money. Definitely one of my go to pubs from now on!

Went with a party of friends for lunch, the food was very tasty and piping hot and the pub was clean and tidy also there is plenty of parking. Alan the landlord has only been there a few months and deserves to do well in his venture, he was lovely and very attentive and during our meal he came to make sure everything was ok for us which was nice. Only one of the party lived in shenstone the rest of us had to travel but intend to go back in the next couple of months we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Hopefully on our next visit and Alan has had more time to settle in we will be able to give The Railway Inn 5 stars.

First time at the Railway Inn and it was an enjoyable experience. The food is traditional pub grub and very tasty, three of my party of 4 wanted chips but they only had 1 portion left but offered fries or sweet potato fries instead which was acceptable to us. Good food at a very reasonable price, will definitely go again.

Three of us went for lunch. We were the only ones in the dining area, which is undergoing a spruce up. The food was very good and Alex was friendly and attentive. There was another young man working there who seemed new but he did his best. I don't know if other days are busier, which would have added to the atmosphere. Good luck with building up your clientel.

Nice place pity owners can't make a go of it every time I go in it has new owner's 3 possibly 4 in the last 2 years shame really.

Very intolerant attitude towards guests. My Ukrainian guest was treated to dog food in this bar. MANAGER: PENNY EDNA PARKER, instead of apologizing, asked us to come out so we wouldn't investigate the matter. It is very disgusting that an English person said that Ukrainian guests are so welcome in this bar. I don't recommend this place It was very miserable experience.

Looks like a nice place. Good service, friendly staff. Music was too loud for me and definitely not for people over a certain age. Shame we won't get to try a meal there. I understand that the management is fairly recent, i wish them all the best, as it can't be easy at the moment

Randomly popped into the Railway early evening Sunday what a fabulous place, especially the proprietors Penny & Dave very welcoming & friendly as were the locals, we were entertained all night and did not want to leave. Will definitely be returning.

Went in at two today, planning to meet five friends, no one at the bar serving , waited ten minutes, no one came out , went to the bull instead.

Personally i Wouldn't recommend for food or service unfortunately, we were very disappointed with Christmas dinner and the service. Won't return which is a shame.

Came in for first time since new owners. Ordered cowboy burger and was served very quickly and was honestly the best burger I've ever eaten. Credit to penny the landlady. Highly reccommend

My daughter, granddaughter and I had a superb meal last Sunday, we were all made to feel very welcome, and had a wonderful time. Edna the barmaid was very accommodating, and understanding with my granddaughters dietary requirements. Would highly recommend the railway for either a meal or just pop in for a pint, in fact I can’t wait to go there again. Once again thank you all.

Warm welcome and good food. Pleasant garden. The menu is the "normal" Marston's rather than the upmarket version, which I prefer. Not busy when we visited on Friday lunchtime.

Waited 2 hours fir food, when it arrived the chicken had been deep fried, God only knows how many times, but it was inedible. We were a large party and only 2 of us had Chicken but no discount t was offered. Non of us will eat there again. Cannot recommend!

Lovely little pub came upto it by chance. Served by penny the landlady Steak plus a drink £10.95 cooked perfectly served within 20 mins I shall be revisiting with friends to try other daily offers. Well worth popping in for yourself!

Popped into the railway this afternoon. We come in very regular! Excellent customer service as always! Penny is top notch on customer service and a cracking landlady! This is our new local! The afternoon has been brill with a bouncy castle for the little ones, food and a singer for entertainment!

Have been coming to the railway in for a number of years the food has always been amazing but today day the food was ok the menu could do with changing back to how it used to be the food prices are quite high for the food that we ordered overall the service was good and the new managers are trying their best

Not impressed with the Pedigree, just about drinkable. Need to sort that to match how Dave used to keep his beer. Dave and Sharon are now at the Royal Oak in Stonnall, if you weren't aware.

Visited on a very hot Friday evening. Enjoyed a lovely meal in a relaxed atmosphere. New owners are working very hard to raise the profile of this delightful village pub . Well worth a visit .

Has it changed owners ? We went a while ago and found the food good and the staff really friendly We went the weekend thinking it was a good place to eat but the food was overcooked the staff weren't friendly and all in all it was a bad experience

We had rang a couple of weeks in advance to book a table for a family meal and asked what the menu would be, told it would be a Sunday Roast plus a small selection off the main menu. Arrived on the day to be told it was only a Sunday Roast due to the main chef being on holiday. Nevermind we thought but then when a table arrived after us they seemed to be able to order whatever they wanted! Staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Then when it came to pay they messed up the bill and we were told that it was our fault. As a final insult they even overcharged us! It was meant to be a family meal for a special birthday but the poor service and unprofessionalism of those in charge spoiled the occasion. We've been to The Railway several times and enjoyed our visits before but after our recent experience we will not be going again or would we recommend it.
