Fantastic breakfast and lovely service from the ladies at Willow and Boar this morning. I enjoyed the pancakes and the hubby had the Crumpet burger. Amazing toilets too! Thank you, we had a relaxed morning enjoying time together.

The Willow and Boar is an amazing little cafe. It's in a beautiful location next to three well maintained fishing lakes. Both the food and service were excellent. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Our breakfasts were cooked just as we like them. We'll definitely be going back. I really don't believe the very negative reviews that have been written about this place. Seems to me as though someone has a grudge against the owners?

Honestly shocked at what I experienced here on the weekend. The owner (I assume) and chef shouting at customers, totally unprofessional and quite scary actually. The chef was looming over these women in a really threatening way. Shocking show from what I previously thought was a nice place to get breakfast. Food has also gotten worse. Assuming this is new management, they need to consider how they run a business, I will certainly not return.

I am gobsmacked at the terrible experience my mum and I had at this café. We regularly go out for breakfast and totally understand how small businesses work - especially hospitality- but this was like no other visit we had ever had before. I had queried a few extra charges on our bill, and was met with horrendous customer service, a very patronising Jane and an extremely aggressive Mark. I am vegetarian so had asked to swap the normal sausage for veggie sausage in the bagel option, which they charged me £2 for. I also ordered the menu option “egg on toast” (£5.50), and asked for the egg to be scrambled, which was an extra £1.50. I had then realised I was paying £5.50 for a piece of bread. After politely asking, Jane was very patronising telling me I “did not understand hospitality” and how it cost £1.50 for Mark to turn on another pan and stand to scramble it. This is not mentioned on the menu anywhere. The menu does not say “fried egg only included” or that there is an extra charge for veggie sausages. I then asked for a refund due to Jane’s attitude (approx. 5 mins after ordering), when Mark came out of the kitchen raising his voice and saying he had already starting cooking so it was tough. Mark then proceeded to shout at me for asking for a refund, when I queried this, he threw his hands in the air and said “the silver gates you entered in, please leave through them”. I was gobsmacked and quite upset!! I am not one to complain at all! They need transparency on their menu for any hidden charges. We decided to take the food away as I would not be granted a refund, fine. The Egg on Toast was extremely bland, with thick pieces of undercooked bread. How disappointing! Avoid at all costs!

Mark, Jane and all the team have always gone above and beyond for their customers and are always happy to discuss any issues (which we have never needed to do in the years of going) at the time. Please ignore the personal attack in the other review as this is full of lies. Never once have any of the staff been rude or aggressive. Keep up the good work. Lots of people do really appreciate it.

Been coming here since it opened. We always feel welcome. Jane, Mark and staff bend over backwards for a fussy bod like me and I'm still welcome. I was witness to the experience for the trip advisor comment in February regarding the £1.50 surcharge to ensure the woman's egg was vegetarian and not cooked in the fats of meat, and to be honest I am flabbergasted as the review is inaccurate. Yes , the woman caused such a fuss the entire restaurant had the joy of hearing it, and throughout Jane remained calm and was simply explaining the reason for the additional charge. How the woman understood and took this information is her grievance and bordering on pathetic. I checked my purse, I had £1.50 I would have given you my change to aid your cause. In this wonderful world of austerity [sarcasm] where families are on the brink of losing everything, we still fail to simply be kind. For those who can, we need to support our small businesses, those businesses that bring both joy, time out from life, and revenue to your towns and the people who live there. Afraid conglomerates like Starbucks do not contribute to UK taxes. Otherwise, you can say goodbye to the unique selling points of the places you live and visit. Our small businesses are on the brink of collapse it's sad that people still can't see past the end of their own noses. So let's break it down into simple terms...businesses can't stay open to no customers with the costly gas and electric left on... simply put it costs too much. So let's break it down... For a small business it costs on average £3000-£4000 per month for gas, electric, water rates, internet and business rates. In addition - staffing costs which include minimum wage £10.42 /hr... plus additional fees for sick pay, pension contributions. Oh and double that if someone's off and need to get a replacement employee in... x 5/6 members of staff. - business tax and council taxes. - upkeep and repairs. - purchase of equipment cooker, cash register, tables, chairs, shelving, cooking equipment, saucepans, plates, cups etc and any replacements. - oh I haven't even started on the cost of the things that small businesses sell which has to be at least £1000 a week probably a lot more. -99% sure there are additional costs. The costs above alone are toe curling, financial worries are not something anyone wants. In short, stop, think, take your feet out of your own shoes and put them in someone else's, when you take a bite out of your meal in a quaint cafe, or mooching round a small unique shop, look past what you think you can see, think about the gamble the business owner has taken to provide you with a service, and support our small businesses if you can, rather than behaving as this woman has, and who has trolled most of the internet as she felt aggrieved by paying an additional £1.50. Before you post on social media, review sites, such as trip advisor and Google take a moment to simply think and be kind.q

Used this place before but never again. I travel a lot in my job all over the UK & Northern Europe & so have visited hundreds of coffee shops in my time but never before have I ever been charged extra for having my coffee as a De-caf. This charge is not displayed anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu & we were not informed that de-caf carried an extra charge. This is really bad service. Many people enjoy coffee but cannot tolerate caffeine for medical reasons & are penalised in this restaurant Sorry Mark & Jane but we will not be returning for coffee, food or fishing in future.

This once was a great pub for wkend evenings for people 30 and above,,great music, reasonable priced drinks, such great atmosphere,,not anymore, plastic handled jugs for your drink, manager said someone was glassed recently so plastic for your drinks on evenings...just shows how catering for the younger generation as ruined this place..I refuse to drink out of plastic jug in a pub,,unless its outside events/festivals in parks etc.. us older generation as lost what was a fantastic venue we visited regular in Lichfield....such a shame.😔

Lovely looking restaurant with pleasant and efficient front of house staff but unfortunately the food let them down. My wife and I both had the pork belly for mains which unfortunately hadn't been cooked long enough as it was quite chewy. The starters and desserts were quite nice but that doesn't really compensate for a poor main course

Tried putting a review on just eat but Samsung have off when I tried submitting by taking me back and canceling the review so here we are. So the food is bang on quick service and they even found our address first time even chucked a free-bee in on the house can’t ask for any more. Bang on
