My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Verzon House. I was so pleased we chose to stay half board as the food, both breakfasts and evening meals were perfect! The taste and presentation of all the food we had was incredible, we were both very impressed. All the staff we met were very professional and polite and we were made to feel very welcome. A welcome that also extended to our dog Ziggy, who also enjoyed accompanying us for the short stay. Our room, Midsummer Hill was everything we’d hoped for and more. The bed extremely comfortable, the decor lovely, the shower was excellent. Having a small jug of milk in the fridge was also great to see, it’s normally the first thing I ask for when we stay somewhere, but this time i didn’t have to! Our room and the whole Hotel was extremely clean, decorated to a high standard and has a lovely character. If we lived closer we’d be a regular for dinner but I can say we will definitely return for another break.

Just wanted to share my lovely experiences at The Trumpet Corner Tearoom. I'm always made to feel right at home. It's a really charming tearoom with genuinely welcoming and attentive staff. They make sure you have everything you need. The food is delicious, fresh and tasty plus they offer a gentle coffee blend. The cake and pasty selection is yummy! Everything on the menu seems thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients. My recent evening visit with friends for the speciality 'Harvest Supper' was delicious, everything 'Harvest' on the menu - great food and services with a wonderful ambience. Trumpet Tearooms are a little gem, I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly spot with excellent food, coffee & cake. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Today was the first time I've come away disappointed. We had a cup of tea and an americano which were fine but i noticed - and remarked upon- that the size of the chocolate cake had been almost halved. It did however remain THE SAME PRICE. i did get a slice for my husband as we had come especially from Newent (we come almost every week) for tea and cake. I guess i was already disgruntled as i decided to forego my 'much smaller than usual' piece of cake and go hungry. When the drinks arrived there were none of the usual biscuits that we so enjoy to accompany them. I was told they had run out. When i commented on the size of the cake and the fact that it should have been accordingly cheaper, i was told there was a mistake in the cutting. As i said, i left very disappointed today....and we were good customers.

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

We have been to the cafe numerous times before and thought last time that it was not as good as it had been. This time we were queuing ready to order 10 minutes after they stared lunch. Both quiche options on specials were not available (an alternative quiche was ordered and was described as the worse meal ever had there), the crisps on the toastie were stale, the lamb and cranberry casserole, although judges as tasty had little or no cranberries in it and the steak and kidney pie had become a casserole as there was no pastry. Very poor.
