Just wanted to share my lovely experiences at The Trumpet Corner Tearoom. I'm always made to feel right at home. It's a really charming tearoom with genuinely welcoming and attentive staff. They make sure you have everything you need. The food is delicious, fresh and tasty plus they offer a gentle coffee blend. The cake and pasty selection is yummy! Everything on the menu seems thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients. My recent evening visit with friends for the speciality 'Harvest Supper' was delicious, everything 'Harvest' on the menu - great food and services with a wonderful ambience. Trumpet Tearooms are a little gem, I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly spot with excellent food, coffee & cake. Can’t wait for my next visit.

The young staff were lovely. But the stuck up miserable old woman who runs it, shouldn’t work with people. Breakfast was disgusting and over priced. I’d advise avoiding.

Took my friend for her birthday. We were extremely disappointed. £9.50 for a salad bowl and it was a small bowl. Coffee was served in mugs and Luke warm. The owner wasn’t very friendly either. Small steps on way in, my friend tripped and so did a little girl that came in. Cakes didn’t look particularly good either. Hasten to say we will not return. Such a shame, it’s nice to go to smaller independent coffee shops.

'Greeted' by a Basil Faulty esk lady who had zero patience with our order. Her manner was worse than indifferent to us intolerant is a better description. and we felt very uncomfortable. The young girls serving were giggly most of the time we were eating and drinking in the pleasant cafe. A sense of being bullied by staff came upon us. Though the food was of good standard we couldn't get over our early treatment. I appreciate people have bad days but surely customers go to a cafe as a treat and surely staff must realise customers have hard times too. A warm welcome is little to ask. Even a neutral welcome Our treatment was neither if she is the owner she needs to seriously amend her customer service If not the owner would do well to appoint different staff. L

Had a lovely lunch at this tearoom, we both had the salad bowl and the dish was adapted slightly to make it Gluten Free. There is a Water dispenser in the tearoom which was ideal for us on a warm day. There is a small gift shop with some local crafts. Well worth a visit.

Where do I begin? The coffee is always great and we can never resist the amazing selection of homemade cakes on offer. The tea rooms are very welcoming and have a beautiful outdoor area which is perfect for summer days. We are regulars as we love to support small, local businesses. It is a perfect spot for a table for two or for bigger parties. We hired the whole place for my Mum’s 70th and Annie and her team went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend.

What a HUGE MISTAKE it was to return here. Only giving one star because I have to but this placed doesn't even deserve one. My friend and I visited a few weeks before but there was no food available due to staff shortages. The woman serving was offhand then but we put it down to the situation and made a plan to return to have lunch. So today we went and had been really looking forward to trying something tasty for lunch. We arrived and I asked if there was a vegan option and the reply was "No". That was it. No apology. So my friend and I discussed about going elsewhere when the same woman suggested the Greek Wrap without Feta. So I thought ok that would be fine and we ordered coffee as well. The coffee arrived before the food and the cups were in a shocking state. A chip on one and a crack and cracked glaze on the other. The wraps arrived and my friends had a side of crisps. I asked why mine hadn't got crisps and was told that they weren't vegan only vegetarian and had been produced in an environment were milk may be present. I explained that it was ok as it was a preference being vegan rather than due to allergies and yes I would have some crisps but the woman repeated that they're not vegan. I said it was ok so I got crisps. Then halfway through our lunch I noticed that my friend had green olives which I didn't. So all in all my wrap had half the ingredients but I was still charged £8.95 !!!! Not even an offer of a reduction or an attempt to include more hummus or salad. By the time I got to the end of my coffee I noticed how stained and dirty the mug was!! When the waitress came to collect our plates and asked if everything was alright I explained that actually it wasn't and why had I not been given green olives. The owner came and explained that the olives come together with the feta cheese so fair enough. However, why couldn't she have just explained that when I asked about the absence of the crisps? So to top it all off as we were browsing in the gift shop next door and chatting to the owner of that shop in came the cafe owner and accused us of not paying for our food. My friend assured her that we had but it was a hugely embarrassing situation and all in front of the shop owner. After we had finished in the gift shop my friend wanted to go back to the cafe and confirm that we had paid and how upset and embarrassed she had been made to feel to which the cafe owner merely said sorry. I also pointed out that given my wrap contained half the ingredients I should have paid less and also commented on the disgusting state of the cups. The cafe owner had the audacity to call me rude which is laughable given how rude and inhospitable she is. We absolutely will not be returing.

Amazing afternoon tea. I bought a voucher for my parents and it exceeded expectations on all levels. They could not stop raving about the sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, cakes and especially the freshly baked (still warm) scones. Completely recommended if you want to pop in for coffee, lunch or a light bite but especially if you want to give a gift. The gift of afternoon tea at the Trumpet corner tea room is definitely a gift that will be welcome.

I never leave reviews but I'm still fuming. I had booked a table for 5 at 2pm. I was meeting my elderly parents and we had both come about 45 minutes from difference directions (Cheltenham and Leominster) so I wanted to ensure we had a table. We had first come on Christmas Eve 2020 and had a lovely time so we were looking forward to coming back again. I had unfortunately booked a table at the same time as another lady had booked for a full afternoon tea for 5. The manager instantly assumed I was this lady and was so unfriendly when I said we weren't having afternoon tea. She said I had asked for it and she had made it all now. With terrible grace she said 'just choose a cake then'. It was so embarrassing and I felt awful because I knew I hadn't booked afternoon tea. My poor little mum said 'we were just trying to be helpful' (in booking a table in advance), At no point did the manager think to ask my name and check she had the right customer and I was obviously unaware of this other reservation. She did have the grace to look embarrassed when I showed her my reservation message and the mistake was realised and she did offer us 5 scones, jam and cream on the house (which were delicious) Still that too late for me - We'll be meeting at the Trumpet Inn next time - dreadful customer service. Never again - still fuming. Feedback - remember you're in the customer service industry so don't look so unfriendly and check your facts before you speak to a customer like that.

The food was pretty good - no complaints there and the tea room is nicely laid out. But we got the impression that all was not quite well amongst the staff - no real bonhomie going on and did not really feel particularly welcome compared with other places visited on our Herefordshire visit. The signage for the car parking is also a bit ambiguous off a main road.

We’ve just had the best breakfast since lockdown! We haven’t ventured to many places since the pandemic started as most coffee shops seemed overcrowded and not very Covid safe. The trumpet corner is neither of these, loads of space between tables and hand sanitiser before you go in.Now to the lovely food, both my girls had the American pancakes and the portions were huge! But being young and always hungry managed to eat everything. My husband and myself had the normal breakfast and the veggie breakfast. All really nicely cooked, not greasy and the portions were just right! My only regret is not having enough room for any of the lovely homemade cakes on display. If you are in the area, it’s a must. I had tart of the day with salad which was delicious. I especially liked the fact that it wasn’t just the usual pile of salad leaves - there was cous cous salad, homemade coleslaw, roasted summer veg, a tomato salad and leaves on my plate, which all added up to a substantial and tasty lunch. At £8 it was excellent value. I will definitely visit again.

This is a quintessentialy British tea room. Is is full of vintage charm. I love the tea pots that where scattered around the room, they each had different designs on them. The food was very good, a good selection of dairy free cakes, that tasted just like normal cakes. I cannot have dairy, so it was a delight to find a cake that tasted so good, knowing it would not upset me. Popped in for a quick cuppa and cake to refresh us on a long journey from the West Country to Cheshire. I always get a little worried when one approaches the counter to find oneself ignored a full 30 seconds by staff standing inches from you. Not a good start. I told the very unsmiling girl that we were in the garden as we had a dog with us and ordered two teas and a slice of cake. She said it would be brought out. Now after ordering tea and cake a lot you have a rough idea of how long it will be before a pleasant smoking waitress appears with a beautifully laden and much needed tray of refreshment. When after 10 minutes we were still sat there I went in to see if she had forgotten as the tea room was not busy, which she obviously had.

Visited for a family tea lunch break. Limited menus but delicious food. The cream tea was particularly good with warm scones and delicious thick clotted cream and home made jam. The seeded paninis also tasted fresh. Definite recommendation for anyone in the area.

I found this tea room while looking for a place for a coffee break while driving up to mid-Wales. Delightful place, every thing a traditional tea room should be. Lots of choices of food that I am not allowed to eat for medical reasons - great pity. But the coffee was excellent and the decor very relaxing. Exactly what you need for a driving break.

A beautiful little tea room serving a good variety of home made cakes. The Guinness chocolate cake is outstanding. The surrounding garden is beautiful. Well worth a visit.

I messaged the Trumpet Corner Tearoom, on the Thursday before a bank holiday, hoping they might have space for my family (13 of us to be exact) on the Sunday for lunch. Realising this was quite late in the day to be trying to book for a bank holiday Sunday for so many people I thought my chances were pretty slim. Jo came back to me very quickly saying they would be able to accommodate us and would we all require lunch. I said that we would and looked forward to seeing her on Sunday. We had a fantastic lunch there and even enjoyed some brownies and scones. It was a great place for all my family to meet as we were coming from South Wales and the rest of my family from Wolverhampton. Jo couldn't do enough for us and got toys out for the children, even not minding the younger ones toddling about. I will definitely be returning here and cant wait to sit in the beautiful garden on a sunny day with one of their lovey coffees.

I dropped into the tea room after finding The Nest up the road far too busy. I'm so glad I did. The panini's are fab and the service unobtrusive. It was so nice I returned the next week.

A chilly March day, but sunny enough to have tea in the pleasant garden. Efficient service and the food on display and being eaten by others looked great. Also liked the interesting community feel to the place, with information on display and a gallery. Have marked it so I can stop again, so much better than a soulless chain!

They were so helpful & as it was so cold outside, the lady in charge allowed us in. Don’t assume, ask! The food was good, but no sausages for the dogs. Instead they found them some meat.

A really pleasant place to stop for tea and cakes with attentive staff and quality food. We only dropped in for a tea and cakes but there is also a good menu for more substantial food for lunch etc. There are a couple of galleries to look round if that interests you and a good car park.

Coffee and tea were fine, as were homemade scones (cream good, jam in a small jar and not homemade) - but were not made to feel very welcome as we just had this and not a meal - so think they wanted our table back. Shame, but will not be visiting again as it didn't make for a relaxed outing. Quite understand needing tables, but not as if customers were queuing out of the door. Competitor around the corner (The Nest) much more relaxed and welcoming.

Myself and my family attended Trumpet corner for afternoon tea on Mother’s Day. It was truly sublime! From the friendliest of welcomes to the quaint crockery I really couldn’t fault our visit. Tea was brought to our table at request (English breakfast and Earl Grey). A platter of homemade and locally sourced sandwiches accompanied this followed by Welsh rarebit and quiche. The flavours were exquisite, we were then enticed by scones with homemade jam (my mums favourite) cakes, brownies and biscuits. I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing. Many purchases were made in the gallery which is composed of stunning artwork. I couldn’t recommend this tearoom enough, and I will be returning!

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣

Beautiful scenic spot, absolutely stunning. Dog friendly. Food was amazing and atmosphere good too. Boat was running as water was too high but didn’t matter to us!
