We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Dined here on a Friday night as we where staying on the park for a few nights over Easter. The menu looked good and very inviting. We ordered a starter, two mains and two kids meals. Unfortunately we waited almost an hour and a half for the food to turn up despite asking numerous times where it was as the kids where now really hungry. (I did note other people where also waiting on slow service too). Our food arrived with a simple sorry for your wait with no real explanation. The food itself other than the prawn starter was of extremely poor quality and all pre frozen (even the starter) The menu didn’t state anything was fresh, but it stated the food they served was good for your soul. I’m not sure who’s written that, but it very much isn’t. We ate it as we where starving and weren’t prepared to wait another hour for the cook to figure out how to microwave us some more frozen burgers. The kids meals where equally terrible, our 7 year old daughter even said the food was yucky and our son didn’t touch his pepperoni pizza which again was the sort of quality you get from Asda’s basic isle (if not worse!) All of that cost us £57.80 with a capri sun for one of the kids (all paid up front at the bar!). Working back the prices the capri sun cost in excess of £3 too! Speaking of drinks prices, two small lemonades for the kids cost around £7, day light robbery! I noted a lot the clientele in the bar had their ‘member cards’ which I can only assume brings the drinks prices back down to normal as opposed to inner city London prices. The bar staff where extremely busy on the night and with all the regular members and staff who had clocked off from reception swarming around the bar I didn’t fancy kicking up a fuss. I followed it up with the customer care manager who told me she had made the bar manager aware of the issues and I would have to speak to her. I spoke to her a day or so later and explained why I was unhappy. She offered us a round of drinks and some kids puddings. I politely declined and asked for some sort of refund to makeup for the poor quality food. She gave me the kids meals back, which wasn’t exactly the result I wanted but at least it was better than nothing. Hopefully my honest review here makes them rethink the food they are serving up to customers and maybe drop some of the drinks prices down a little for non park members. I can’t be the only person who thinks £15.25 for a gourmet (frozen) lamb burger and some frozen chips is extortionate. Putting a dry frozen burger on a ciabatta bun doesn’t make it gourmet. All in all a pretty bad experience. Food 1* Service 2* Value for money 0*

We visit our Happy Place as often as we can to escape into the beautiful countryside and take time to breathe again. The Old Barnhouse is at the heart of the Park and the ideal place to relax with family and to meet up with the lovely friends we have made here. A varied menu for good food is also available here, together with a good selection of wines, spirits and beers. Various fun filled events are regularly held at The Old Barnhouse, either inside, or weather permitting, on the spacious patio with its stunning views of the Malvern Hills. Keeping everything running smoothly; Dave, Donna and Colin are fantastic, they’re friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble to make sure everyone enjoys their visit.

The perfect place to go at the end of a stressful week, to relax and unwind in a Friday, but then to have a fabulous time with friends and family on a Saturday. Lovely food and drink awaits for those who come to experience our Barnhouse.

A great setting for all seasons. Snug and cosy in the winter, with the log burner adding to the atmosphere. In the summer the perfect patio to enjoy a refreshing range of drinks, whilst taking in the stunning views across to the malverns. Top this off with freshly cooked food, and I think you'll struggle to find a better setting.

We have been regular visitors to the Falcon Hotel over the years and it continues to be a pleasure to stay and eat here. From the lovely welcome from Craig and John and the delicious food over three days the visit was perfect. Jane is an excellent chef and all though the menu is now smaller than it used to be their is plenty options if you are staying for a few days, don’t be fooled by the snack meals on the menu they are not small, the lovely waitresses smile when you express surprise at the portion sizes all served with homemade bread and as for the deserts delicious ! We had fantastic weather and walked on Bromyard downs and visited Leominster our friends were first time visitors and loved this friendly quirky hotel. It’s a small family run hotel which has existed in some form since 1700s which is part of its charm. If you like modern hotels with the usual menus and people perhaps it’s not for you We have already booked for later in the year

*Reply* How you associated my review with those specific circumstances is unclear, but my review will stand. And for clarity, I did not order a 'round' of drinks. I ordered one drink with a member of your team, who turned around to another member of staff, gestured to me and I repeated my order. They both brought me the same drink and when I explained the very simple misunderstanding, your staff were confrontational and aggressive. This could have been resolved in a far more amicable and customer centric manner, but your staff chose to instead escalate an otherwise calm situation up until that point. No one should be expected to pay for the same drink twice, especially when the circumstances were reasonably clear and understandable. Forcing someone to leave your establishment on this basis was hugely disappointing, I have always had a good time at Gordon Bennetts previously and had been saying as such to my friends who had travelled from out of town for a night out in Hereford. You've taken the time to write a reply to my review, if you had made the same effort to listen to your customer at the time I would not have felt the need to leave negative feedback.
