A brilliant cafe next to the car park at Queenswood. It's located in an old restored timber building and contains friendly efficient staff and irresistible food at good prices. Biker friendly too, you can get anything from a quick cuppa to a full meal, all freshly prepared!

On a very wet day, when all outdoor seating was taken up with schoolchildren. We asked the manageress if it was possible to sit inside to eat. We had a 10 month old baby and a small shih tzu dog who is completely house trained and would have sat at our feet under the table. There was one other table occupied inside but we were refused point blank from a very rude manageress. I could understand if there was seating available outside or if we had a large dog with us. We were told to “leave the dog outside” and that it wasn’t her problem that all seats outside were taken up with school children. This was the first time we had ever visited Queenswood and will be the last. Extremely poor customer service

This cafe offers a good choice of lunch time options (jacket potatoes, soup, burgers, chips, sandwich etc.). I'm always amazed by the range it offers and the generous size portions that arrive. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Do give them a try and so don't be put off by the Council's car park charge as the cost of the food is very reasonable and represents good value for money!

If you visit the Queenswood Country Park & after exploring the park fancy some refreshments then make your way to the café which is located right by the car park. They have hot & cold snacks etc which can be purchased for a very reasonable price.

We started with coffee on arrival, good sized, reasonably priced large decaff coffee. No hurry or pressure to move, although we wanted a good walk in the woods. Later on we decided to return when others joined us for a sandwich. A good choice on the menu, cold drinks a little overpriced in relation to food but all in all, two good visits in one day. We'll definitely return!

If you go down to the woods today, you be sure to ... meet the Gruffalo. Or should be but the day we went it was not there! Great walks and a Gruffalo trail for the kids. The cafe is based on the edge of the car park. Not sure if the owners have anything to do with the walk except I assume most of their trade is from people walking here. The Cafe is pleasant and clean which immediately gets a star in my book. It wasnt busy as we visited early morning a weekend or two ago. The food was prepared and cooked and so came out hot which again gets another star from me.The staff we talked to were friendly and service was good. The choices you get for vegetarian, vegan and all food is large and varied. Most probably too large and there was no room to say what you actually could expect on your plate. If we have seen what the veggie breakfast consisted of, we wouldnt have chosen it.Although I cant fault what I had but I was disappointed with what actually was served which also affects how I see value for money. We were on a cheat day and so not vegan but as usual chose a vegetarian option breakfast. As you can see there were no sausages... there are plenty vegetarian and vegan options available. Mushrooms (more than usual), beans, eggs (2), hash browns(2), tomatoe (1 whole fresh)and toast (1 round) just didnt feel like a full breakfast. We suspected that the toast was placed on top to disguise the contents or lack in some way.A group on the opposite table had a normal breakfast and the plates looked considerably more fuller. We discussed how many stars we would give and just didnt feel it was anything special and so gave a mid score. Will we come back here... Yes for the walk. Will we come back here for food... most probably but it will be a cheat day and we will order the 'normal' breakfast.I do recommend a visit but follow your carnivore instincts and order the normal breakfast.Would benefit by a 'on table' menu showing what the breakfasts consist of.

Along with 3 of my close friends we enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea here this afternoon. Sandwiches ham, cheese and egg were very fresh, the quiche was so light but tasty as were the sausage roll. We also had a small pot of Eton mess, scones and a selection of delicious small cakes. My friend doesn't eat cream so not to be left out had a pot of meringue and raspberries and had a special plate of sandwiches without butter, nothing was too much trouble. It was also good to have a crisp white tablecloth and nice china all extra touches. At £7.50 I would say it was excellent value for mone and would highly recommend.

Its always hard to remember to bring cash with you, what with paying for car parking and 15 ice creams !!!!I think you would actually find more people particularly first time visitors would spend more with you. The milkshakes a nice but please consider a small size for children because at £2.50 they are really expensive.Had toasted tea cake and many ice creams, staff always polite and friendly even on the busiest and hottest days.My only criticism is please give the benches under your canopy a good scrub each night as they are really dirty.

Spent a wonderful hour here following a great dog walk. Superbly dog, children and disabled friendly: tied to very needy dog and suffering from very painful hip, a fellow customer held my dog for me and more ginger beer was brought outside for me by a kind manager/ serving staff. (Sorry about offering you euros - purely an error. ) I get the impression that the two ladies cook, serve and run the cafe themselves.) Art work and notices about local yoga and courses on walls, quirky, cosy interior and covered area for dogs and their owners; delicious homemade food (and ginger beer!!) and superb coffee; chatty fellow customers too! Thank you, ladies. Will come to see you next time I visit by daughter. Wish I lived closer.

We came here after visiting the arboretum after a friend's recommendation. It's in an old beamed (Tudor?) building and you can eat inside or out. There's a huge choice of food from sandwiches & paninis through to soup and full meals. Also a child's menu. My 2 friends had the vegetarian breakfast which they said was lovely and the reasonable price includes a hot drink. Another had an all day breakfast whilst I had a jacket potato offered with several choices of fillings. This was delicious and was accompanied by coleslaw and salad. The only downside is you need to pay to park,£3, but if paying to visit the wood anyway, I'd certainly go to the cafe. Friendly service with a smile too!

Firstly - I must mention that this establishment does not take credit or debit cards; not a problem as we came prepared. They had an excellent range of food, even for vegetarians! We had their excellent vegetarian all-day breakfast which was a bargain at £5.50. This meal consisted of two hash browns, two fried eggs, toast (or fried bread) beans, beautifully grilled tomatoes and absolutely delicious mushrooms. Not only that, but it comes with either tea or coffee! The food was cooked to order, so was very hot and fresh. We'll definitely be back as the homemade cakes also looked really tasty. Highly recommended!
