Fantastic place great accommodation lovely warm welcome from all the staff , amazing home cooked food , definitely will be going back for a break. 😊

Delicious Sunday Carvery for only £12. Choice of 3 tender meats or combination of all, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball and pigs in blankets and then help yourself to the rest. Delightful desserts and the most cheerful and helpful staff I've come across in a long time. Beautiful hotel and the drinks were more reasonable than I'd usually expect in such an establishment. 10 different draft beers/lagers/ciders which is more than I've ever seen under 1 roof before. Just enough parking on the square to the side of the pub when we visited. We'll be back.

Saturday breakfast. Beautifully cooked tasty spread. The 'Swan' = 2x sausage, 2x bacon, black pudding, fried egg, beans, mushroom, tomato, 2x toast. Nice Bloody Mary too! Friendly welcome, roaring fire, sports on TV. Dog and child friendly. In centre of Kington so good for walkers too. Will definitely come back.

We visited here for dinner on Friday 7th February and our daughter and husband went the evening before. The welcome we received was outstanding. Such energy, enthusiasm and quick repartee .... It was wonderful! The bar/restaurant were cosy and we were particularly drawn to the armchairs in front of the roaring fire which was very welcome on a chilly evening. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. I only regret not having space for a dessert! If we are ever back in that neck of the woods we will not hesitate to return.

Great atmosphere, cozy fires, comfortable seating, and friendly bar staff, and the food was excellent. We will be returning. The steak and ale pie was made that morning, and the pizza was wood-fired and delicious! The locals seemed to enjoy the food too and are regulars to the dining room.

Came over from Australia to find a place to live and out of all my travels through England the service and meal was by far the best I have had. Outstanding. So tender and delicious will definitely be back for more

Great atmosphere, food exceptional, staff very, very friendly & obliging. Have visited here for over 30 years, was friends with old owners. The owners now have done an exceptional job, keeping up with old traditions & new. Totally recommend 100% anyone & everyone to visit xx 👍 My 13 year old grandson loves their fillet steak & peppercorn sauce.

We've not been here for a while but had a really good light lunch of jacket potato with chicken curry. Delicious. Log fire and conversation from locals gave a really welcome feeling. Will definitely return, especially for steak, cod and chips and steak pie. They sound wonderful.

Rarely do we give 5 stars but having dinner at The Swan Hotel was a 5 star experience for us!! The service was so friendly, positive and engaging and the food was absolutely delicious, home made and hearty. We shared a melted camenbert to start, I had the Mediterranean Tart for main (with added home made onion rings that were not part of the dish but we're given and not charged for) while my boyfriend had a steak with mustard sauce. We topped it off with biscoff cheesecake 😋. The food was plentiful, great atmosphere and lovely service. To top it off we thought it was very reasonably priced, three courses and a drink each for under £75.

Very pleasant evening last week in our local - this time we had dinner rather than just drinks. Three courses were all very tasty and filling - nicely presented too. Although it was busy, the service was friendly, helpful and considerate. Good value for two three course meals and drinks. I would definitely recommend!

Fabulous place we found, service was amazing wanted for nothing and nothing was too much trouble. Great banter as well with the crew. Mixture of pizza, steak, lamb and the specials ate along with pudding and vast amount of booze and soft drinks between the 5 of us. Would 100% recommend and would return if in the area again. This is an update from the original review below to respond to the owners comment. The following words are a direct quote from the hotel e mail to me on the 11 June when they cancelled my dinner booking for the first week in July .... "Yes it is correct I’m afraid, our kitchen is closed all week due to the chef being on holiday and being short staffed, we can’t find any cover to do evening meals. We do apologies for this". Perfectly located if you're doing the Offas Dyke walk. Clean and comfortable room, friendly staff. Only downside was they weren't doing evening meals due to staff shortages, so went to the Burton Hotel which was fine.

Lovely historical pub, friendly staff. The only thing that let it down slightly was a bit of a communication issue - the waitress didn’t seem to have been updated on items that were sold out by the kitchen. Otherwise thoroughly enjoyed my steak and cider. You get a free drink with your meal on steak night apparently, which is a nice touch 🙂

Truly, with no exaggeration, one of the best steaks I've ever had! Cannot fault the food or the service! Bed was incredibly comfy too! I stayed for work but I am planning to return for a holiday based on how good the food and room was! My only slight negative is that we couldn't have a hot breakfast, breakfast started at 0800 (I think off the top of my head) which felt quite late

Coffee is unbearable. Cold and from a machine the staff are rude, not a place if you are expecting a decent coffee. The bear on tap is poor.. I could not comment on the food…

i went to dis restarant yesterday and they tell me i have to leave becaus of me religion and ethnicity, very rude woman talk to me and tell me she don’t like me, i had me food thrown in me face and got thrown out by de rude rude woman, would not bludclat recommend

Right in the heart of picturesque Kington, the Swan Hotel is a friendly welcoming place and the perfect combination of traditional country pub and modern hotel. The room was clean, airy and luxurious. The beds are very comfortable, and at £100 per night for a double, not unreasonably priced. The food was absolutely delicious, of a high quality and was generously sized portions, again for a very reasonable price. The selection of beers was very good, all of which were well kept and delicious. The included breakfast was a bonus that I'd missed on the initial booking, using quality and presumably local, ingredients. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and accommodating. I will inevitably find myself in the area again and when I do, I can't wait to stay again!

The food is stunning all home made tasty as my mother used to make. And the staff are top notch friendly and chatty. Highly recomended

The Swan is a brilliant country pub with a great atmosphere. The menu caters for most tastes and budgets, and the bar is likewise. They have five comfortable rooms for those who need to stay the night. Easily one of the most comfortable hotel stays I've had this year, (and I've had a few)

Good pub. Only one in the town that appear to show any sports. Good modern decor and good selection of beers and snacks. Do check food opening times as on the door it says lunch until 2pm and we arrived at 1.40 and told the kitchen was closed

Always a good choice on the A44 route to and from the Midlands, or a trip to Hereford. Good food, friendly staff and a nice clientele. Dogs allowed, and a good range of drinks. Our favourite place in Kington. We use them whenever we visit Kington- impeccable service, nice food and drinks and a good social atmosphere.

Gone up from last visit last year as I expected ,portions have gone down though not expected.

We have had a fantastic time staying at The Swan Hotel. Luke & Casey have been outstanding as always, they go the extra mile. Fabulous food, hospitality and accommodation! Highly recommend The Swan Burger. The Swan is a 10/10.

Perfectly adequate accommodation for a 2 night working trip. Room was simple but comfortable. Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was great, and their coffee machine is fantastic! Will stay here again.

Had delicious lunch here at the Swan today. Couldn't fault the food and comfortable surroundings. Service was good and staff helpful and attentive but not intrusive. Will be returning again soon.

The Swan is a good place to eat. We found the meal rather sadly got less good as it progressed - starter was 10/10, main was 7/10 (we didn't have steak) and the dessert 5/10. However it was excellent value for money, the staff really attentive and quite happy to squeeze us in on a Saturday night without prior booking. Both the house Merlot and Shiraz were excellent.

Great atmospere. Very reasonably priced food. They have meal deals I had fish and chips with mushy peas and a coke for a tenner. You can't grumble at that at all.

We arrived just in time before the rush started, and the poor girl behind the bar was rushed off her feet. It was the day of the food festival, so I thought the management may have planned for additional customers. Additional staff did eventually turn up to help her. We agreed to share a table with another couple who arrived at the same time. The food we all had was well prepared and tasty and we all enjoyed our meals very much. I had the pie with mash and a lovely gravy, and my wife said her fish and chips was excellent. We will return to this venue

Ate in restaurant didn't stay. Steak was good the rest poor. Limp chips and salad garnish but the peppercorn sauce was a travesty. Glutinous, congealed and lacking in flavour, hands down the worst I've ever tasted. No sign of cream involved and precious little pepper. More than disappointed but easily fixable and it'll be a good steakhouse.

We went for sunday lunch it was very nice. It was a 2 course meal started with a carvery of 3 meats and a choice of 6 puddings and with 2 drinks £38 very good value for money. Staff was very good and the place was very clean will be going back when in the area again

Pre wedding stay over ,welcoming staff ,had an evening meal that I would highly recommend, rib eye steak cooked to perfection, can't rate this hotel any higher ,brilliant well worth a visit or stay over .

We picked the wrong night to meet up with my brother and sister in law over from Canada. It was so noisy because Liverpool were playing Chelsea in the fa Cup final. Couldn't hear ourselves speak. But never mind at least Liverpool won. 😁
