The best restaurants serving British food in Teignbridge South West

I believe this pub was recently sold off by Heavitree after many years of neglect. I'm not sure they do food yet but I was very impressed by the lady behind the bar (Kelly?). She knows her job and has a very good rapport with the customers. We'll be going again.

We ordered fish chips took over half hour to come so hoping be nice fresh the fish batter was so hard it was dark so over cooked fish like rubber and dry .... chips where stale like kept warm on hot plate for hours ... safe to say that was worse fish chips I have ever tasted complete waste money and staff are also most miserable people i ever met not helpful at all .. most definitely won't come again I can understand why it was so empty on weekend if that's food they dish up .... new chef required I think !!!!!

We have been going to kings fry for years and the food is great but the fans in there are disgusting and dirty and there is an atmosphere in there is strange. The young fryer is not very happy they seem to be having family arguments all the time. The cloths they are wearing are dirty and should be changed everyday. If the food hygiene people saw this they would get closed down. Never going there again.

Massive portion of not very nice chips, pale and soggy. Would rather have had fewer, better cooked. Try somewhere else next time.

Been here twice a month apart, visiting family who live in Dawlish. This didn’t used to be the place to go, but locals say it is now the best in town. Crispy chips with soft centres and nice batter on the fish. Not the biggest but, who wants a big piece of naff fish. This place gets my vote hence why I came back and paid twice.. £44 for four fish and chips. If it was my local I would have saved the lest over chips for the air fryer the following day. I just know they would have been spot on. Allan

I can’t understand why this lovely cafe gets such bad reviews The owner is always pleasant, the coffee is excellent, the menu is interesting, there are large clean seating areas and wonderful views. What more could you ask. I’m really worried that this excellent cafe will be forced to close and there will be no choice but the truly dreadful Starbucks nearby. Now I shall keep driving past that.
