Met family at this half way point , lovely olde, country village pub . The welcome was lovely , the young bar man very friendly and helpful. We ordered our lunches with the lovely waitress who was also so helpful and friendly . The food arrived quickly and was beautifully presented and delicious , clean plates all round ! The idea of ‘small dessert and a hot drink’ as an option is great ! Two of us enjoyed this , perfect sized cheesecake and crumble . As a fellow waitress I understand how important certain things are when out for a meal - I honestly highly recommend this little gem of a pub , you’ve got a great team and I must also say a great chef ! Well done 👏👏 we will visit again

We were invited here for a group dinner. Perhaps by poor luck or poor menu choice, my meal was as disappointing as the last time my wife and I visited. I don’t think we will be coming here again of our own volition. It’s a shame that a pub where the food used to be so good has fallen so far. I chose salt and pepper squid rings followed by fish pie. The squid rings in batter were pale and barely cooked, with little or no flavour. There was a small blob of mayonnaise on the plate but this didn’t really help. The fish pie was served in a pie dish, and appeared to consist of a tablespoon of fish with a spinach leaf, squashed under a pile of mashed potato. There was no sauce of any type, nothing on the top of the potato (no cheese, no pepper even), and the top wasn’t toasted. At least my wife’s fish looked a little better. The only positive - apart from being amongst friends - was that the pub served a very acceptable pint of porter.

We attended a wedding at Sheppy's Cider Farm last weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! The setting was stunning, the staff were lovely, and the food was gorgeous. There’s an old superstition that the Maid of Honour has to bury a sausage the night before to ensure good weather—and let’s just say, it worked, because the sun shone beautifully all day! A special mention for Sheppy's Low Alcohol Cider —hands down the best low-alcohol drink I've ever had. If you love cider, this is the place to be, and I can’t imagine a better venue for a wedding. It was a truly wonderful day, and we wish the bride and groom all the happiness in the world. Huge thanks to Sheppy's for making it so special!

Came here for the first time today and while the food is very expensive for the portion size(it was child size at best ) it was nice. We came on a Sunday and they do have a limited menu so if you are a fussy eater like me and don’t want a roast I wouldn’t reccomend coming on a Sunday I think it was £16 we paid for just one small roast I personally won’t be back I mean I don’t know what they portion sizes would be like during the week but I don’t think i would risk it.

Fine, the food and beers are ok but it lacks atmosphere and has a much older demographic than many places. We were out as a large family our 2 older teenagers were aggressively asked for ID in front of parents and grandparents when they ordered an alcohol free cider (sat at table in restaurant whilst eating food). When we asked why as they were clearly old enough the answer was ‘maybe old enough by law but our policy is different’, so they just had Pepsi. They are old enough to have alcohol, let alone alcohol free, but we have to respect the landlord’s decision. However he will have to respect our policy to only visit hospitable places and to never go back. This possibly explains the older demographic. Also they add a service charge to your bill which annoys me, particularly when it’s not warranted.

Very relaxing atmosphere, really good food and wine. The staff are friendly. Outside seating when the weather is warmer. It has a huge car park. I highly recommend
