We were so thrilled to have had our daughter’s wedding reception here. Ginny you were professional from wedding planning days and on the day . We cannot thank you enough for all you did . We had total confidence in you from the 1st time we met you . Your staff were very welcoming and helpful and courteous to the very end of the night . Thank you for helping our daughter and son in law have a wonderful memorable day .

We booked a table here for 10 plus pushchair, 9 of us attended. The meal was okay but after getting home we realised we had been charged for 10 carveries not 9. Iv gone in to explain and collect a refund, being met with the manager who called me a liar multiple of times and after reviewing the CCTV still saying I was wrong and there was 10. After 45 minutes of waiting she then came out and said there was only 9 of us there and she would give me the refund. I left with no apology and feeling very angry and deflated. This manager made me question myself and her attitude towards the whole situation was disgusting. We will not be returning due to this.

Myself and 4 family members attended a recent ball at Oake golf club near Taunton. It was a superb location. All staff were attentive to your needs, table clearing, making sure you had what you'd ordered etc. Speedy bar service with offers of double up drinks for £2 more. The venue was superb. The dance floor area was perfect. The whole meal for the ball was 5 star stuff. Not one of our group finished our delicious carvery as there was so much. They do carvery every Sunday usually too. The horseradish sauce was hot and spicy perfection. I will be intending to go again next year. Plenty of car park space too.

The food and service was perfect and the venue itself was ideal, with great views and plenty of car parking and space inside. We used Oake Manor Golf Club for my Mum's Wake because we wanted something near to Taunton Crematorium that could accommodate a large group. Its difficult to know how many to cater for when organising a funeral. We went for 180 which was ample (just over 200 attended the Crematorium so 180 was about right for the Wake).

Oake Manor do a variety of themed evenings but I'd not been for donkey's years! I booked into the Harry Potter quiz night with 3 friends at a cost of £12 pp. The date had been pushed back a few months due to covid, but they kept in regular contact, even phoning the day before to tell me what measures were in place to make it covid secure. The £12 included the quiz, a buffet and disco (although the disco couldn't go ahead due to covid restrictions). The buffet was also served by staff but I was really impressed. There was a choice of 2 meats, or halloumi, veg and hummous in a bap, served with salad, potatoes and coleslaw. It was delicious and a really good portion size. The quiz was fun but some of the questions were rather obscure and the quiz master welcomed feedback on any answers given that attendees deemed wrong (there was one we knew of!). It did feel quite amateur if I'm honest, but it didn't stop us having fun. I almost went in full Bellatrix Lestrange costume. I'm glad I didn't as no one else was dressed up!The only downside for me was the extortionate price of drinks! £23 for 2 gins, a bottle of WKD blue and a pint of tap water. Needless to say, we didn't drink much!Overall, a fun night, well organised, safe and friendly staff. Lots of parking available. We came prior to face masks being mandatory in public areas.

Played golf at Oake Manor yesterday. Lovely course, great meal afterwards and we thoroughly enjoyed the day, as we usually do here. However, we noticed that there was a gathering of at least a dozen people on the terrace with plenty of hugging and kissing going on? If places like Oake Manor don't take responsibility for what is going on on their premises how are we going to avoid another serious Covid outbreak and goodness only knows how many more deaths!!!

We visited for a Sunday carvery as we had had such lovely food at our Christmas party. The vegetables were a huge let down - everything tasted overpoweringly of margarine! Also, a lot of it was obviously frozen. Much prefer fresh veg. & don't need to ruin the flavour by adding marg. Probably won't go back for carvery, much nicer food elsewhere. The service as always was outstandingly good though.

We booked for 11people for the night for the Beatles. We all had a great time. The staff was brilliant from start to finish the food buffet was great and very tasty however we all ordered deserts after. and the cakes wasn't the best very sickly. For what you get for £15 with the night is very good just wish there was little cheerful deserts included in the buffet. The Beatles was great but the sound system isn't it was shocking on how it sounded in the other rooms where the tables are and at some parts very distorted hope this isn't the sound system that Venu uses for all there groups as it needs to be fixed. part from this we all would like to say thank you for a great night and we would be back soon for other events :)

Well becoming a regular place to visit these days .but last Saturday my youngest son had his wedding day here . Iam so impressed by the food the staff the venue & everything .WOW is a word I'd use . If your thinking of a place to use for a wedding please make this your 1st point of call . Ask for Ginny ,she is the lady who is the wedding planner . From beginning to end she was fantastic. Nothing was to much trouble for her. She is an absolute credit to Oake manor & very lucky to have her.the food was fantastic, the staff were brilliant looked after us so very well.the tables were set out brilliantly as the wedding couple wanted .the night before we came to one of their many entertainment nights which ave several through out each month .we did the Elvis Presley night for £15 which included food the live entertainment & disco to 12pm again great food and great value for money. I suggest you go on their web page and have a look on whats on or your goung to miss out on some of the south wests best nights out. There are hotels stone throws away from this place as well . We visited for Sunday lunch . The starter of the day , salmon fishcake , had a minimal amount of salmon in it . The carvery for mains had a good meat selection . The beef was OK and the roasties but it was let down by soggy vegetables . I made the mistake of having a desert , it wasn’t as tasty as I expected based on the description although I appreciated a small addition of clotted cream . Drinks were OK . What really let the occasion down was indifferent service . We were towards the end of lunch and the main focus was on clearing up and chatting rather than attention to customers . To have a table next to customers loadded with all the items from the tables and staff sorting it out was simoly unacceptable . I would not return .

We booked at Oake Manor for the Sunday carvery to celebrate the in-laws 55th Wedding Anniversary. We are quite a large family and unfortunately had to be sat at two tables. The food was plentiful and the staff were friendly, if a little busy. The drinks took a while to arrive but the order was correct and we were given a small table for gifts, flowers and cake. The only downside was the wait for the staff to produce the bill and how to divide that between each section of the family. I understand that staff phoned in sick in the morning but there were not enough staff to cover the number of tables.

We’ve been before when we visit the area and it’s been amazing so comparing to previous visits we were a little disappointed in the food quality sadly. We had our main meal and asked to move to the bar (we asked, they didn’t offer). That was pretty full but not a kid in sight. Left and decided to complain. Took 4 weeks to get a reply from the owner and he feels it’s ok for us to sit in noise and mayhem and that they cannot control peoples kids. So others have to suffer then. We went for Sunday lunch as part of a group. The place was packed and our tables were squashed together making it difficult to leave when it came to the time to collect our main courses. Their system is to serve starters and desserts at the table, but you get up to collect your carvery main course. One starter was breaded brie, which was served stone cold and looked as though it had just come from the freezer and had not been cooked at all.The queue for the carvery was long and slow moving, the pork that I had was tasteless, the roast parsnips and roast potatoes were so tough that none of us could cut through them. On the other hand, the desserts were mostly regarded as being very good. The entire lunch took far too long, and, coupled with the poor food, probably means that they were ill-prepared to cater for the number of people whose bookings they had accepted.

We had been to Oake Manor for various events before but this was our first experience of their Sunday carvery. When we arrived, the place was very busy (obviously very popular) and extremely noisy. In fact the noise levels were rather overwhelming! We were shown to our table, and then sat there for at least 10 minutes wondering whether we were supposed to purchase drinks at the bar or whether someone would come over to the table to take an order. My partner eventually got up and asked one of the waitresses, who said to buy them at the bar, but before we could do that, another waitress came over to take an order for both drinks and any starters we required. It all seemed bit chaotic and disorganised to be honest! As regards to the food, we felt that the starters and desserts were of a much better standard than the carvery itself. I had creamy garlic mushrooms with garlic bread to start (as did several on our table) and they were very nice. And the creme brûlée I had for afters was delicious, and as good as I have ever had! My partner had the chocolate fudge cake which he also said was good. When it came to the main course, the meat was very nice and I at least was lucky enough to have been given a decent amount. Unfortunately my partner was not so lucky and was served a rather mean portion! Possibly, this was because he was in a different queue to the one I was in, as there were two people carving and serving meat from either end of the counter. This obviously leads to some inconsistency which seems unfair! We also felt that the roast potatoes, veg and yorkshire's etc were pretty mediocre. The potatoes were not crispy and were swimming in oil, and the roast parsnips were positively drowning in it! The cheese sauce that came with the cauliflower and broccoli was watery and completely tasteless! On the plus side, the vegetables (there was also cabbage and carrots) were not overcooked and were served al dente which we like. We had heard such good things about the carvery here and how good it was, and were looking forwards to trying it. But in the event it did not live up to expectations! We have had plenty of carvery's in the past and so are well able to compare one to another and this was by no means the best we've tried. We can't help wondering if it's reputation has grown to such an extent that it has got too busy and is now a victim of it's own success! Shan't be rushing back!

We paid £12 each to watch a fab drifter/motown show that included supper. The food was lovely and the show was great, all the singers were excellent. We went as a party of four and we all agreed what a great nights entertainment and very good value for money. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Water jugs on table are refilled throughout the night and the bar prices are very reasonable. The onky criticism we had is that there is not much room between tables. Venue was packed with people and atmonsphere buzzing

I am told by members that this is a very nice course to play and a good , though apparently quite expensive club to join. There are public footpaths across the course, which I have walked on numerous occasions and the course is always very attractive and appears to be very well kept.In the clubhouse regular tribute evenings take place, with top class tribute acts appearing. Food and drink are always available in the clubhouse and the club is famous for its Sunday carvery, which is always a sell out. The carvery is also used for special occasions (Six weeks around Christmas) and for private functions. Not the cheapest carvery, but always very good.

We always visit Oake Manor for large family gatherings when we are in the UK. On this occasion the venue was very busy and we had a short wait to be seated as we all wanted to sit together (15 of us). We received a very nice bottle of champagne from the Manager due to the short wait, most unexpected! The food was excellent, lots of choice and as always the carvers was beautiffuky laid out and very hot. A fantastic day with family and friends.

I was recommended this venue from a friend. (Make sure you book, as extremely busy). When we arrived, you could tell it was going to be great, as the car park was full. We were shown our table, and we had a 2 course Sunday Lunch for £12.95 each. Great presentation of food (and good for coeliacs). The food was hot and tasty. Looks they know how to run a great business, and the themed party nights looked good. We will certainly be returning.

Had visitors drop in on us today so decided to take them out for lunch. As we have been to Oake Manor Golf Club for meals on several occasions and been well satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food we decided that this would be the ideal venue and believe me today's lunch was everything we had expected and more. Well worth calling in if you are in the area, even better if golf is your calling.

Visited recently for a themed evening event. Very busy, buffet was ok, however I know the usual daytime and evening fare is sooo much better. But when you are only paying £12 for food and entertainment what can you expect. Usually we visit midweek for lunch and the food is usually excellent, evenings it is a popular venue for lots of events and we will be going again.

Off the main Taunton to Wellington road - take Bradford-on-Tone turn off and continue quite some way towards Oake. Oake Manor Golf Club on your right hand side. Very clean and smart restaurant with plenty of seating. Most meals are 2 for 1.We took our relatives there for their anniversary and they were very impressed. Plenty of choice on their menu. Three of us had the roast of the day, we asked for "softer" vegetables - which is what we got. Home cooked roast potatoes too. We were all very pleased with the portion size and the tasty well cooked food. My husband had the cod, chips and peas which he thoroughly enjoyed. Delicious looking desserts, but three just had ice-cream (3 scoops and a wafer). Waiting staff were excellent and attentive. I am fussy - but would definitely go back again!!!! They also have functions there and tribute band nights with disco and buffet included for approx. £12.

You must book, especially on a Sunday, go for the 12 midday sitting as then it gets into long queues from 1pm onwards, best carvery I have ever had, ever! Also great for special evenings, we attended a Molin Rouge evening with Carvery and roulette recently, wow, it was a great night, brilliant price! They do lots of tribute nights, wakes as they are next door to Oake Church, and Weddings.

We drove up from Frome,Somerset and booked a nearby B & B as a Birthday treat for me to see the Bee Gees Tribute. We went to have a meal at lunchtime at a pub as we thought for £12 a Ticket it would just be finger food or nibbles. We were really surprised to find there was hot food [4 main choices] plus rice, chips, poppadoms and salad. I am Gluten Free and allergic to onions and most of the dishes were Gluten Free but contained onions. I asked if I could just have chips and salad, but the chef offered to get me some lovely sliced ham, we thought this was exceptional. The whole night was amazing and we so enjoyed it, there is a big screen in the huge dining room so my husband was able to sit and watch the show while I went down to the stage to get closer. Fantastic night with great atmosphere and wonderful value for money, if ONLY we had this in Frome.

Played today as a 4 ball. Easy to find just off M5 near Taunton. Warm welcome on arrival, and enjoyed bacon bap & coffee in the club house... Again warm welcome friendly service. Practice on range then on with business on the course..... Course in great condition - fairways generous in part but rough sometimes punishing! A good test of golf. Bunkers well maintained with plenty of sand and lightning fast greens. Lots of water around some of the holes! Picturesque setting and good but challenging course layout. Coffee in clubhouse after golf, again friendly service. Brilliant day and many thanks to Oake manor making our 4 ball welcome and for a well maintained course....definitely on the 'return visit' list!

Have been coming here for many years but last Sunday wasn't great, service was average and the meal it's self was sub standard, the cauliflower was covered in a cheese sauce but not baked, why? The only option to have beef was red, no option of well done or it offered and the potatoes the worst I've seen, not even crispy and one of mine in the middle was black. Desserts were nice tho
