Plenty of parking, not too busy, no dogs are allowed only outside, which is very acceptable as selling food. Large cafe area, plenty of cider deals in the shop. Definitely recommend.

Came in for lunch, took a while for food to arrive, waiting staff were super lovely. All meals well presented and hot. Everyone really enjoyed their meals - only negative being the smoked salmon and egg on ciabatta was very overpriced for what it was. Mussels were beautiful. Will definitely be back.

A tale of two dishes. We had lovely fish and chips here. However, the ploughmens was poor for what it was and expensive (the pie was tasty). Service was fine and the decor pleasant. Plenty of Sheppy on the menu

I had an amazing experience at Sheppy's Cider! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Jane, who instantly made us feel at home. The tour led by Mike was absolutely fantastic — his knowledge and passion for cider-making truly shone through. The tour itself was insightful, and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the cider-making process. The entire team was friendly and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. Unfortunately we did not get to eat here this time but we bought a few bits from their shop - the honey & mustard scotch egg was delicious! We will be back to check out the museum & eat at the cafe/bar. Highly recommend visiting Sheppy's! We'll definitely be back! 🍎🍺

Arrived here from Bristol purely for an arranged tour. From the point of arrival, the staff were friendly & welcoming and very attentive. The tour was led by a lovely guide called Mike who is a real credit and certainly the real deal in entertainment & information regarding the history of the site & extensive knowledge about cider making. We sadly didn't have time to enjoy the restaurant but left buzzing after the tour, having sampled several different ciders, looking around the museum and buying a variety of ciders to enjoy at home. Great job Sheppys, and what a pleasure to enjoy the tour with Mike leading the pack!! Full marks...... lovely to see cider making as it should be, traditional, authentic, and as good as it gets!! Staff were on point, thanks all.... we'll be back.

We held my mum's funeral reception here just last week. Cannot praise it enough. We had nearly 50 people and chose the Stable Room along with their finger buffet, which turned out to be absolutely perfect for hosting everyone after the funeral service. What could have been a difficult day, turned into the happiest occasion with all of the stress taken away from us. The staff were so wonderful to deal with and the food was fantastic and plenty for all of us. We were particularly keen to choose somewhere with access to a bar, and Sheppy's fit the bill perfectly, alongside providing unlimited tea and coffee also. Parking was super easy and we ended up actually enjoying the afternoon thanks to them. We truly could not have chosen a more perfect venue for the day and would recommend to anyone in search of a stress free location to host their friends and family.

An excellent experience!! We came here to celebrate my eldest daughters birthday, (her idea, as she's been here before) but the rest of our group hadn't so had no idea what to expect. But we needn't have been concerned as we were treated really well. We had Sunday lunch which was very tasty and an object lesson in quality over quantity, not the largest meal we've ever had but it was certainly superior in quality to most others we've consumed! The service was not the quickest, but they were VERY busy when we visited, and it's said that the best things are worth waiting for!! The staff we met were very polite & pleasant particularly one, who's name was Grace, I think. She went above & beyond to do what she could to make our overall experience as good as it could be, and she succeeded!! But this place goes beyond just good food, there's a lot more to see and do but sadly we ran out of time. However we do intend to return on hopefully a quieter day and see what else there is to do here, we know there are orchard walks here and we intend to try them, so watch this space for an updated review, but if you're visiting to enjoy the food you will not be disappointed - however prior booking is essential, especially at weekends.

Ideal setting with plenty of parking, amenities included a decent Café and a large shop selling a good variety of farm produce and naturally a good selection of different Ciders. The only downside for me was the prices of Ciders were retail shop prices. I would have thought they would be cheaper buying at source. However, I did buy 2 cases at a small discount (24 bottles) for £52.

I got two cakes from the deli. None of the name labels set out on display noted any allergens, like noting if a cake was or was not vegetarian. When I had bought the two cakes, they put ingredients lists on the box. Then I find out one cake isn’t vegetarian. So we go in to ask what kind of gelatine is used in the cake and they don’t know. Put a little V or Ve in a circle or a crossed out one so customers know. It’s not difficult. Also, know what kind of gelatine is used. What a pain. Staff were nice and friendly.

Booked a cider tasting tour and was really impressed with the quality of the tour and our tour guide (can’t remember his name but he was fab). The tour was really well paced and informative and he made everyone feel included (there were around 30 of us). It’s a beautiful location and lovely that it is a family run business. The cider tasting was great we got to try 6 different ciders and he even let me try a fruity one at the end, it was a great way to finish the tour. It was really sociable too and we got to meet lots of new people. The gift shop was great and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. There was even more cider to taste in the shop! We had pre booked a cream tea for after the cider tasting (finished around 1:30ish) and weirdly they had us booked in for 3pm even though I didn’t request that? So unfortunately we couldn’t sit in the main restaurant, we had to sit in the shop - a shame, this was the only negative of the experience. The cream tea was delicious though! Highly reccomend the tour, a great activity and well worth it! Great value too.

My partner and I visited Sheppy's due to the advertised walks around the orchard, and for a bite to eat. Firstly, we opted for the walk and followed the 'yellow route' - meant to be 20 mins. After 30 minutes of following the yellow signs, the next arrow pointed to a locked gate. Not only did the sign point to a locked gate, but also a large herd of cows behind said gate! It was a very hot day and due to my mobility issues, I would not have been able to turn around and walk another 30 mins back the way we came. Therefore, we carried on walking a little further to find another gate, which was unlocked, and another, so we went through it. After walking no more than 20 meters, a very abrupt member of staff who was gardening approached us and rudely asked where we were going. We explained that we were lost and just wanted to get out! He was really quite nasty to us, saying we 'must've gone through the gate!' Yes, we had, due to all other gates being locked! He made it clear that he did not believe us, and implied we were trespassing/had untoward intentions when it was their own fault we could not follow the standard path. As a young couple we are not at all threatening and we clearly looked lost and just wanted to get out of the grounds. The rude staff member then told us some directions, which led to a very busy main road whereby we had to walk approx 100 meters with no pavement and bad visibility of the cars speeding past us, just to get back to the car park. We had planned to stop here for lunch, but this left such a bad impression that we did not want to spend any money there or give them any business on sheer principle.

Attended with a colleague in order to have breakfast. Disappointed at the lack of options to be far - wanted a smaller cooked breakfast but they only did the one. I opted for a baguette with sausage - I have to say that what I received was disappointing to say the least - A very dry baguette with virtually no butter with very small sausages that were all but tasteless. I have to add that despite the poor food the service was excellent & the staff very polite & courteous Sorry to write this but it is an honest appraisal

We went out for lunch on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday, just the two of us. Our first waitress, who was in training, was lovely and down-to-earth. However, she was told to bugger off by another waiter after serving our drinks and preparing to take our food order. This second waiter was a bit OTT and was speaking in a condescending way. Our starters were ok, though the scallops were slightly undercooked and the pork ribs were dry and overcooked. Midway through our starters, a third waiter interrupted us, asking if she could clear our plates and serve the main course. With food still on our plates and our mouths full, we told her we were still eating. For our main course, we ordered a Sunday roast for two and were very disappointed by the lack of meat. We were served just one thin slice of beef each, one small piece of pork each, and half a chicken breast to share. We then asked for a bit more chicken but the waiter then came back from the kitchen after speaking to the chef who said that was all there was. Throughout our meal, the staff was again overly keen to clear our plates and sides, even while we were still eating and there was food on our trays and plates. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience. The staff was not communicating with each other, the roast was highly overpriced for how small it was and the staff seemed like they wanted to turn over tables quickly. But at least the cider was good, and we would've had another pint but we didn't want to stay any longer after our mains.

Food was average. Not good value for money, bacon was rock hard, tomato was tiny and air dried. £14 was very expensive for what it was. Toast was inedible. The lady with the pony tail who sat us and took our order was pleasant. Other than that we were ignored, no check backs, eventually cleared plates without saying anything. No one in the room to ask for extra drinks had to go to the servery to order. Second coffee was horrible so asked for it to be removed when we eventually paid. Couldn’t ask anyone for the bill, there were 4 tables in the restaurant when we visited and we were told there were only 3 people serving so that’s why we had to wait. Very poor. Woman on laptop rude and ignoring us. Good service really shouldn’t be that difficult.

Thinking of our later twilight years we recently visited a Churchills Retirement Living premises in Taunton and on leaving called in to Sheppy's Cider Farm. I was born in Bridgwater and had frequented Sheppy's in my youth hood on occasion. We needed a snack and beverages followed by a toilet inspection prior to us travelling back to our home in Cornwall. Unfortunately I chose the baked Camambere which was a mistake for us both but I hasten to add the meal itself was delicious but the accompanying craft style bread chunks could have been described as having an acquired taste but time was not on our side but if honest I would decline those and request toast,. You know we all do that now and then. To commemorate the occasion I purchased a bottle of Apple Brandy for my wife. Not cheap by a long way but sometimes we only pass a way once. Funny how you know what you want to say and then read it and think we'll maybe a rewoding is required. But you know what? I shall leave it as it is. I will eventually review the Churchill Premises later.

Just had the most fantastic tour of Sheppys. On a weekend away to vist friends in Taunton, we pre booked online for a 2pm tour. We arrived early and it was suggested that we take a look around the museum. Fantastic farm equipment from bygone days including a 17th century wooden apple press. Our tour guide was Mike (Morris dancer and cider maker extraudinere)Mikes passion is so obviously cider making, he conducted the tour with so much enthusiasm and humour it took the tour to another level. He answered any questions we had with great knowledge. The cider tasting at the end was fab, the tour over ran by approx 30minutes and would've been more had Mike not had a prior engagement ! I personally could've listened to him for a further couple of hours. If you're thinking of doing the tour please do not hesitate it's absolutely fantastic, you may even be lucky enough to have Mike as your guide. Neil

We have been customers for a long time, and although we have noticed on our most recent visits that service has been much slower than before (as I see other reviews in recent months have mentioned), we have continued to visit due to the quality of the food and our enjoyment of the meals there. We arrived for our lunch on time at 13.45. What with it being a Saturday, and also the fact there was a wedding, we knew that it would be a bit busier than usual. We waited for a few minutes at the entrance to the restaurant; I made eye contact with one of the waitresses and said hello. She said hello back, and then went and stood behind the coffee counter instead of asking how she could help/explaining it would be a few minutes until we were served. At this point, between 4-5 staff were stood behind the coffee counter. I found this a bit disappointing to start with, as one of our party was stood with a walking stick, and we had 2 small children in our party... After a few minutes, a member of staff came and took us to our table. We waited roughly 15 minutes before someone came to take our drinks order. As I said, it was a Saturday and with an ongoing wedding, we were ready for a slight delay - however, we were annoyed that 2 tables were seated after us, and each had their drinks and food orders taken before anyone came to our table! We waited roughly 15-20 minutes for our starters and children's food to arrive. This was, as usual, tasty and enjoyable food. Around 10 minutes after we'd finished our starters, we thought we'd let one of the waiting staff know that we'd finished and were ready for our mains, as the children were still eating which may have looked confusing. The waitress said, "Yes, I'll clear them in a minute." She then laid up all the empty tables in the restaurant with clean cutlery, while our dirty plates continued to remain on the table. A few minutes later, we were able to ask another member of staff to take the dirty plates, and again said we were ready for our mains. At 15.10, 1hr25 mins after we had arrived, our mains had not arrived. Unsurprisingly, the small children in our party had reached the end of their patience, and so we asked for the bill to pay for what we'd had, and that we wouldn't be able to wait any longer for food. A few minutes later, while we waited for the bill, our mains were brought to the table! At this point we had our coats on and the children packed ready to go. We explained again we couldn't wait any longer. A waitress came and said the manager would have to be consulted about removing the mains off our bill. We were told that our ticket had been submitted 1hr previously, and that the chef had said our starters and children's food had been served during that hour, so they couldn't see a problem. Firstly, this would mean that our food order wasn't submitted until approximately 14.15, which was around half an hour after we'd originally sat down. Secondly, even though our starters had been served during that hour, it was still a long time to wait for the mains to come. We stood for several minutes waiting to speak to the manager, who was busy with the wedding. We didn't actually speak to anyone in charge in the end, but were told that the mains had now been taken off the bill. The waiting staff explained that they weren't able to help, what with being front of house. This is understandable, but equally frustrating when no-one was able to take responsibility. In spite of there being a wedding happening at the same time, the restaurant/coffee shop were very well staffed during our visit, but I can't say that any member of staff was understanding, apologetic, or made an effort to explain a reason for the long wait and slow service. Unfortunately, in spite of being loyal customers for a long time, we shall not be returning and shall no longer be recommending to friends or family.

We had a nice brunch here with friends recently as it was a midway point between us. The setting is nice and the venue is completely level access for wheelchair users, offering ample parking for such a small place. The flagstone floorings make it easy to get around and there is plenty of room in the restaurant for wheelchair users to get around easily enough. Our food was nice enough but too a long time to be served, missing one of our parties off when we were the only people there so early. They did apologise and compensate. Staff were friendly but it seemed a bit odd that our food took so long!

We arrived too late for lunch but the staff were more than happy to do us a toasted cake and a pot of tea. They couldn't have been more accommodating. We did a cider tasting and the Asst Manager was very knowledgeable and informative and was a pleasure to deal with. Overall our visit was brilliant. We could praise the staff enough.

Fantastic place, first visit as staying in the area. Really great cider and the shop is stocked with amazing food. Spent a fortune - haha! Special mention for the ladies in the deli area, really friendly and chatty, a credit to Sheppy’s.

Hands down the best cider farm I have ever visited! The shop is glorious and incredibly welcoming. The staff are all so friendly and very knowledgeable about the cider available. They even do free tasters and even offer you if flat or fizzy. (Flat cider for me is the best) It's reasonably priced too which makes it even better! If you're in the area or even driving past you have to pop in here even if you're not a cider fan! The cafe and restaurant food looks absolutely beautiful.

We had a table for 9 today and had to preorder our food the day before. On arriving we ordered coffee and had to ask where it was after 20 minutes of waiting. A waitress came and confirmed our food order but we still had to wait for over 20 minutes for it to arrive . We like visiting Sheppys but have found the waiting time for food and drinks needs to be improved.

went there with my boyfriend after a hospital appointment on Tuesday 10th September around 5pm - it was the 2 pints of Estrella that got us in the door ! We ended up having a lovely meal of chicken
