We managed to get a seat in this fabulous eating house. Staff were SO friendly, and we had the BEST bowl of soup ever - carrot, red pepper, and paprika with lovely wholemeal bread and real butter. What a delightful. The ambience was so cosy, rustic, and welcoming. we can see why it's often necessary to book. we wished we had room to try their amazing selection of homemaked deserts, cakes and pastries. We will return..........soon!!

Bloody brilliant. Food and ambience superb. Service with a smile. Superb plaice and monkfish Thai curry. The desserts are all made by the chef. We had a pavlova but look forward to coming back for the chocolate torte. Very underrated restaurant of the highest echelon.

We are regular visitors to the Seventh Wave restaurant. The food, large fish and chips was as good as ever. The fish was haddock in a lovely batters with good chips as well. The service was good and very friendly and the meals nice and hot. All in all the standard of this unpretentious restaurant remains very high. There are many restaurants that would do well to come here and see how it should be done. Another point is that they do not add a service charge on the bill. There is a tip jar on the counter and if you do come here then please consider using it.

Had breakfast here twice. Very nice full English breakfast, very reasonable price and quick service. My review would have been excellent but the cafe seating area needs cleaning (dusty and dirty round the counter and skirting under the windows) and a small overcharge on the 2nd visit. With a bit of attention to the little details this place would be even better.

The chuck eye steak was probably the best steak we've ever eaten!!! Every bite was mouth wateringly delicious. A huge portion, definitely go there hungry!! They other meals were excellent, just felt this deserved a special mention!! Angela excellent choice for lunch or dinner in Swanage!!

This has to be the best restaurant in Swanage. There are no end of fish & chips and burger places in Swanage but if you want a high quality meal, home cooked with excellent ingredients and a feeling of ‘class’ then this is the place for you. The food is reasonably priced too and cook by the owner. Book a table to avoid disappointment and the house specialty is the local Purbeck pie. An absolute gem.

Chanced on Brooks accidentally on 16 Nov, looking for lunch and escape from the cold. Very good service and good sized portions. Mum had an enormous fish finger sandwich with chips and salad. My wife had a small English and I had a pie and mash. Everything was piping hot and very tasty. Don't live locally but would visit again.

Same experience as the last reviewer, the barman (manager?) made us feel unwelcome. It was late afternoon and the pub was almost empty other than two families with young children and pushchairs. We were told when we arrived we had to sit with them (no explanation and we were made to feel a nuisance even going into the pub!) After getting our drinks we went to sit at one of the many empty tables, we were immediately told we had to move to the crowded area. I would add we are both around 70 and as it turned out the families and children were delightful unlike the manager!
