My son loves it here so much he makes us come at least twice a year on our holidays down here. The staff are always friendly, helpful and offer great alternatives if you want to take something out of your meal choice. If you want a decent value for money meal I would definitely recommend this wimpy.

This is the second time we have had meals at wimpy and both times we have all been really impressed. The restaurant itself is really clean and you can even see the chefs cooking the food. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. Cooked to perfection and good value. Will definitely be coming back.

Called in for lunch today and we both had the cheeseburger and Chips. Husband was really looking forward to one of their lovely strawberry milkshakes, but the machine was out of order. He did grumble in a good natured manner. The burgers were ok, except for the big slice of tomato in the bun. Big meal which neither of us could eat all of it. Nice waiter who was fun when we joked about the lack of milkshake. Quite expensive compared to other burger/fast food venues, but at least you can be seated comfortably and served quickly.

Have left reviews before but have again as this place is superb and never disappoints. We ate early evening during half term week, service is great, food is hot, tasty, with a very little wait Saw so many people look in and at the menu but not stop, please don't walk by! Go and give it a try!

I had a delicious takerway from here was skeptical as this place had bad reviews BUT was no more money than Burger King and tasted great and didn't take too long to cook although it was not very busy. Dated furnishings were present perhaps for an authentic 'Original Wimpy' look. It seemed clean and the cashier was friendly and food well packaged.

What an absolute treat it is here. Just filled with wonderful memories of my childhood and fabulous food. Great to have some vegan choices on the menu too. The beyond meat burger was superb. Service was superb too from lovely staff. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you.

We were so pleased to see there was a Wimpy restaurant in Dorset and in the beautiful seaside town of Swanage. The burger and chips was exactly the same as what we remembered eating over 50 years ago in Wimpy restaurants in Kingston-Upon-Thames and Guildford. The meal was cooked to order and delicious. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Will definitely return.

Before arriving we had checked what time they closed which ion the website it stated 7pm so we decided to make a visit. We arrived at 6 o’clock. We ordered straight away. By 6.30 we were about to order desserts when the waitress decided to barricade us in with chairs and sweeping the floors under our feet. The waitress had a very bad attitude stating that she had a life and wanted to go home. After speaking to the Manager he reconfirmed that he also had a life and basically we were just a hindrance. £35 for dried up food and a belly full of insults. Such a shame. Our advice is to stick with the independents as I’m sure they would be more grateful for our custom in these testing times

We had a cute lunch date here. American style interior. Crispy fries, tasty burgers and delicious milkshakes! Will be coming back here in the future 🙌 The staff was smiley and polite.We’ve tried a few places in Swanage and this one is one of my faves because the food is always fresh! We’re very picky with the quality of the food that we have while we visit places in Dorset and we were very impressed with the overall experience at Wimpys!

I can say I’ve eaten a few full English breakfasts in my fifty or so years and this place really surprised me perfectly cooked and two of everything. Friendly staff served with a smile, will be back for sure

We regularly drive over from Ferndown especially to come to Wimpy. The food is always freshly cooked and hot, you cannot fault the quality of the food and will be back again soon. The staff are great and very welcoming. Just hope it never closes down as the only one left in Dorset

It is with a very heavy heart that I author this review. We have been regular patrons of Swanage Wimpy over the years, driving the 22 miles from Poole specifically to visit here. We noticed that quality had slipped slightly on the last couple of occasions, but after our most recent visit we're uncertain if we'll go again. The International Grill has always been expensive, but I enjoyed it. The salad first lost its lettuce, and last time it was just a piece of tomato. The signature Wimpy Pork Bender has always been very distinctive, and along with the Wimpy beef burgers had a taste like no other. This time, it was substituted with a bog standard frankfurter. The service remains fast, very friendly and polite - we cannot fault it. The staff are great and the venue, including the toilets, is always spotless, but sadly the cost cutting measures now evident have gone just a bit too far for us. Maybe we'll give it one last chance, but perhaps it has had its day. Very sad.

Took me right back to my trips to Wimpy in the 1980's.. Fast friendly service. All the team seemed happy to be there and provided great customer service. The food was lovely.. I just love the fact you can eat it with a knife and fork.. from a plate and the pepsi is nice and chilled , served in a glass. Good choice of desserts. I had a make your own Sundae.. which was lush. Good offer on the burger.. Thank you Wimpy Swanage.. we will return!

As always, Swanage Wimpy didn't disappoint. Perhaps not the cheapest but definitely the yummiest fast food/diner joint around. Wimpy is a gem that I miss and sadly, for a bit of nostalgia, often come here for a birthday meal ha ha. The food and staff were just slas good as always. We will be back again (and again)

Nice old school Wimpy bar. Various offers on throughout the week. Lots of veggie and non- burger options available. Good tasty burger followed by a Brown Derby ice cream sundae. Place is spotless and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Low key but really nice well priced experience

So happy to find a Wimpy. The Beanburger still tastes great. The staff were friendly and approachable. Clean restaurant and very quick service.

I haven't been to a Wimpy Restaurant, since the late 1990's, where I visited poole Hight Street branch. We had gone round the town Centre and seafront looking for somewhere to go and it was very hard because Restaurants, were not open, not serving food or there was enough seating for seven of us. We finally came into Wimpy, where a nice server greeted us and make us feel welcome , by putting tables together for us to sit in a group. We looked at the menu and chose our meal. The Server came back to take our food and drink orders and we didn't have to wait too long, as we had to get the 1.30pm stream train back to our cars, but they were quick at cooking and we ate in good time. i had the Wimpy Grill, which was very tasty and delicious with a cup of coffee. I would go there again if i was in Swanage for the day? Nice small area, with friendly helpful staff and I went into the ladies, so i don't know if they had a Disabled Toilet for people in Wheelchairs? We had a Wheelchair person with us and she could manage the step up to the door way. Thank you for having us.

I’ve not stepped into a Wimpy since 1984 I was pleasantly surprised! Incredible staff. Ratio of staff to customers incredible service was amazing. Food basic but really good quality and well prepared.

We visited today, having read differing reviews I was a little hesitant to visit but so glad I did.The tables and chairs were wiped down after each use. The food was a real hit and reminded me of the fun I used to have visiting the one we had in our town centre.The staff were friendly and attentive, a wait to be seated policy is in place and at no point was anyone left waiting for more than a minute or two.It's a shame we no longer have one in our town as the use of proper plates plus knives and forks is a real treat when you choose fast food.

As always, the food and service was great. It's not a la carte, but they are great burgers and well priced too. Will most definitely return, again!

As we didn’t want to go inside because of covid we had a takeaway. We took it back to our holiday caravan and it was nice. Nice burgers, perfectly done, chips that you can salt yourself, milkshakes good. Onion rings were glorious. 5/5

My boyfriend had never been to a Wimpy before - shock. So when we saw this during a staycation, I couldn't resist. The staff were really lovely. Food was to be expected - a nice change from some of the other burger chains we have local to us at home. Particularly enjoyed the pork bender and mozzarella sticks. Left feeling satisfied.

Talk about a blast from the past - we ate here to rekindle childhood memories and for the burger sauce. It isn't fancy but you don't expect that. The tables were socially distanced and cleaned immediately after being vacated. Service was fine and cheerful. Would go back again.

I visited the beautiful town of Swanage with my family at the weekend. As it was a little chilly, we decided against chips on the beach and visited Wimpy instead. We have one local to us in Worthing and it’s a great restaurant.This one however, I wouldn’t visit again.Firstly, the young girl who met us at the door wasn’t very welcoming. We had two babies with us and asked for two high chairs. This seemed to be a bit of an issue but we ignore it. We then ordered burgers and chips, a couple of drinks and some onion rings! For what we paid, the food was definitely overpriced. It was bland and not much salad or sauce in the burger. My boys are young, so therefore we’re quite excitable but not too much. The two young girls stared at us constantly, making me feel very anxious and uncomfortable. When I asked if they had changing facilities I was told no, change the baby in the hall in the pram! There was absolutely no room for a double pushchair in this “hallway”. Thank goodness a lovely lady, Jo, started work as we were finishing up. She is by far the best member of staff. Polite and helpful and guided me to somewhere along the beach to change the babies. For a family restaurant, it’s not very family friendly!

With the distinct lack of Wimpy restaurants we were thrilled to find one still up and running. Overall the visit was OK. Staff were friendly and on the whole the Covid restrictions were adhered to. Service was fast and the food, whilst not quite as I remembered it, was good.

We had a takeaway which we was all looking forward too, to be very disappointed it tasted cheap with no flavours the burger was in a whole meal bun which to me didn’t go, the thick shake was not thick!Very expensive foe cheap food we won’t be returning.

It’s no surprise to me that Wimpy restaurants are rarely found nowadays when the quality and price of the food is way below all of its competitors.I had the southern fried Quorn burger as a meal, the fries were terrible, the Pepsi was either watered down or not Pepsi at all and the burger was nothing special. The price was ridiculous at over £9 when KFC do a similar quorn burger at a much lower price.I won’t be visiting again, the business is outdated, the food is poor quality and meals are overpriced.Also in relation to COVID 19 I was surprised to witness their staff telling people to wait outside due to them having exceptions from wearing face masks, the person I witnessed being told to stand outside was clearly disabled so there’s no excuse for this.

I cannot fault the food as always at Wimpy, staff were very attentive and polite. However the covid secure protocals were not consistant and the staff were not obiding by them properlyWe (a family of 6) were asked sanitise our hands on entering which was reassurring, but then a family of 4 walked in after us and they walked straight in and even though the shift manager saw them walk in there was no mention of the sanitiser.The shift manager had a face visor which was fine, and everyone else had masks however the waiter had his below his nose which is not the correct way of wearing it and the 2 ladies cooking the food (while having a conversation together) had theres around their necks and kept wiping their faces and noses while cooking the burgers.. which besides the current conditions i think is very unhygienic at the best of times!Other than those issues sounding covid.. the service and food were great but if you want to go somewhere that is covid secure then Id personally advise you go somewhere else.

whilst sitting in the restaurant, a mother came in with her two children, she was after a takeaway, she had her mask on, the two young boys did not, however they are not required to, one of the boys was autistic.She was placing her order when the manager approached her asking her to put face masks on the children, she explained they didn't need them and that one of her boys was autistic and could not wait outside, he was rude to her and even one of his staff was embarrassed and she even tried to explain they didn't need them, however he snapped at her saying tough they need them, they're human aren't they.Two other customers walked out as well and I won't go back in there, and apart from that the food isn't great and was only warm when we got it as it sat on the pass for ages because he was to busy upsetting customers.

Exited to see a Wimpy, bringing back fond memories, we popped in here for a takeaway one Saturday lunchtime . As with most places plenty of hand sanitiser available as you walk in and extra screens to protect staff and customers. Friendly staff member took out order , and we waited outside for it. She then kindly brought it out when it was ready. Freshly cooked we went to sit in the sunny beach to eat it. My daughter was thrilled at having more than one vegetarian option and went for the Quorn southern fried option. I had the chicken fillet burger and the others had quarter pound. They were all very tasty, lovely chips too and salt, vinegar and ketchup provided. My only criticism was the burgers were all wrapped in the same packaging and so I had to taste the chicken and Quorn before my daughter would eat it , just incase it was the wrong one!

A Wimpy is very, and I mean VERY hard to find! It’s like the Unicorn among Horses, The Guinea Pig among Hamsters! I really love the taste of it to! ( Because it is not drowned in Chemicals! ) It’s a real shame that there is no wimpy restaurants anymore.The taste is like the king of fast food. Meanwhile, short wait times and very friendly staff!

Haven't been in one of these in years. Couldn't resist and was not disappointed. Half pounder with cheese and chips is what was needed on a breezy afternoon in Swanage.

Went to get takeaway as grandson staying - didn't expect a lot but was really great. The two ladies serving were extremely helpful, polite and professional and the food they prepared was packed so well not one chip had fallen out of its packet by the time I walked home and it was also still lovely and hot. Even the milkshakes made it in one piece thanks to the holder. Thank you both so much will certainly be returning.

Had to leave a review. We were visiting swanage and came across a Wimpy. Had to try it out as haven't seen one for years and years. The lady who served us really helpful and friendly. The food was cooked fresh and served piping hot and was tasty. As soon as people left the table was cleared and cleaned immediately. Would definitely return if in area.

Arrived later than planned and needed food. Only found this place open in town. Service was quick, food was better than expected. Staff very friendly. All good here.

How exciting is it to find a wimpy in this day and age! can't be many of them left. So we had to give it a go and see if it was as good as we remembered, and it was.Great friendly staff, quick service and lovely burgers at a reasonable price, keep up the good work wimpy!

If you're looking for gourmet food then you wouldn't go there, but if like me, you were looking for a decent brunch on a Sunday, that won't break the bank, I can highly recommend this place. The staff could teach many establishments a lot about customer service, as they are genuinely lovely, welcoming and efficient. Food was good too!

Average food nice milk shake my mrs had a a ham and cheese tostie she said it was nice and the staff where nice

Called in here again a few times since my last review and I have to say it's still as good and full of nostalgia as it ever was. The young lady behind the counter told me that there are only 63 left in the country now so go before it's gone! Had a breakfast and though the grilled tomato was raw it was still good value. If you youngsters want to see how we treated ourselves in the 1960s then this is the place!

It's like going back in time, everything just as you remember it. In a very busy location with hard working friendly staff. Loved it!

On our trip to Swanage we decided on a whim to drop into Wimpy, and we were not disappointed. All the food - burgers, chips and sides - was freshly cooked and as tasty as we remembered from so many years ago. Decor a bit shabby but the place was spotlessly clean and the staff sweet and attentive. Really pleased we went in and we'll do so again when we're back in town.

Went to Swanage, mainly to walk to Studland and knew there was a wimpy. Reliving old memories is never a good thing as we don’t see them clearly. The staff were friendly and we got our drinks within 5 mins. The chips were nice very much like other places . The burger although freshly cooked , which makes a change from McDonald’s. The actual burger was a bit grisly and dry. Please use proper 1/4 pounds. These had no flavour. The knickerbocker Glory we had, was the same . Very nice. I wish there were more Wimpy’s as it is such a lovely feeling not to be rushed so other people can have your seat. The only thing to change would be the burger.

Whenever I goto Swanage, I always try to pay a visit to Wimpy. The food is always consistently piping hot, well presented and served quickly. The staff have always been welcoming and friendly. I love this place because it reminds me of when I was a kid back in the 80's. The decor and menu seems to be unchanged! Wimpy restaurants were a lot more common back then and it's a shame there aren't many left on the high street these days.

This is one of the best Wimpys we have found. The food is good and at reasonable prices. It is open until 7.00 pm which is convenient if you visit Swanage out of season, as quite a number of eating establishments close at 5.00 or 5.30 pm.

We decide to go her as I had my first ever saturday job working at a Wimpy store and wanted to see if things had changed. Varied menu but not good variety for our granddaughter who has wheat, gluten and dairy free. All she could have was half a jacket with beans. Needs to be more choice.

Wimpy swannage, get involved in the chicken cheese and mayo toastie wit chips and wings on the side,top top quality,was seriously 10/10.Great service and not full of chavs

Well this is a typical WIMPY restuarant, just like the 60's and 70's.

What I say, The wimpy has not change since I was a kid, good food, clean, cheap..Milkshakes are the best in town and everything is not an arbor a leg, great for the kids and good on your pockets. A+

When I was a teenager, there seemed to be a Wimpy Bar on every high street. Then along came other chains, and they seemed to disappear. But there are still some around, and the Swanage Wimpy is my family's eating place of choice whenever we visit Swanage, which we do regularly to travel on the railway.

The food was burnt chips cold salad looked terrible and waitress couldn't speak English. I left all the burnt chicken and was not asked why I had left it.

Stopped off for a good old wimpy ! Did not disappoint ! Brilliant really miss them ! So much better than any other burger you can get ! Fast service and lady behind counter wasn't English but amazing understanding and well spoken English think she was still learning she was lovely and friendly ! Well done def be back when we are up that way !

Couldnt beleive seeing Wimpy here after probably 35 years after seeing last one, had assumed tehy had all gone years ago...Or so I thought... anyway, remember the days before macdonlads hahah of course still what we call junk food but was a bit of fun one lunch

Wow - not many of these around and remember these were one of if not the very FIRST fast food burger joints. Me & my 2 mates just had to give it a try for old times sake - it would have been rude not to. The staff were lovely 7 we shared some banter as they say nowadays.

Have been here a number of times over the last 18 months with my family. It never fails to deliver as is perfect for a quick and price friendly family meal. Food always hot and fresh, service good and never had a bad experience. If I had one criticism it would be that it needs a lick of paint. Apart from that it's perfect. Lookimg forward to visiting next time I visit Swanage.

We always come here its cheap chearful and the milkshakes are amazing! Its far from a five star reastraunt but it aint to bad.

Wimpy has been around many years, today not many left, but this one is very much worth a visit. the food in here is as wimpy should be, the best burgers around. service is good as is the food.

I used to go to Wimpy a lot back in the day. When I found out they had one in Swanage, I had to go! For those that have never had a Wimpy, it's basically a 50s/60s themed fast food diner. Beats McDonald's and BK hands down. Although it is a bit pricey, the food is made to order. My only gripe with this place, is that the toilets could be better. Not saying they are not clean, but it's literally 1 toilet each for males/females. So you might end up waiting to go after your meal.

Was not impressed with the wait and the Wimpy did not come up to scratch. Lots of add ons. Does not compare to Wimpy Bars of old.

We decided we would have a burger for lunch i have not been in a wimpy for years ! very filling and service fast and friendly .

Our 'double' cappuccinos were so milky they were basically mugs of luke-warm milk and you couldn't even taste the coffee! The Americano was too hot to drink. However, I do like that you get a complimentary biscuit with every coffee and the staff were very friendly.

I visited Swanage on a hot day in July and decided to dine at the centrally located Wimpy Bar. Many Wimpys have closed in recent years of course, including the one in my nearest town, so this might be considered a throw-back but it is perfectly OK. I chose fish,chips,peas with a cappuccino from the varied Wimpy menu and that cost me £9.20. The service was good (though there were only a handful of people in this 50-seater cafe at the time I visited) and the food and drink were lovely. The furnishings are of course that rather old fashioned cream and red table and seats but everywhere was clean. This cafe takes credit/debit cards.

Not been in years to any wimpy but we fancied a burger and chips for lunch. Not busy inside, it looks dated and after they took our order they served our drinks then we waited half or more watching people get there food who had ordered after us and people who ordered takeaway get their food but no sign of ours so went to ask, the excuse was the other people ordered before us but I know that was not true they definitely ordered after us. We was told to walk out if we was not happy we nearly did but we was hungry and the cook brought us the food and told us it take time to freshly prepare food but if I at home it would have took me less time. Honestly I long does it take to cook a small burger, cook a few fries, warm a bun and put it all together. Also it was not that tasty, if we was not hungry we would have walked out without paying, will definitely not be visiting this place again.

Went here for afternoon tea yesterday don't know why we bothered! Toasted tea cake toasted on one side only - cold and uncooked on the other. I ate it but .... did not enjoy.

The place looked old and dated. Staff were totally uninterested and customer service was pretty poor. Would say it was very over priced for what I received, and when I questioned the price the only answer they could give was that it was freshly cooked. Didn't taste it that's for sure!! The meal deals are not deals at all as you can buy them separately for the same price. Would I go there again??? Definatly not.

Ok this is a bit random; I’ve rated fine dining and top restaurants to Beefeaters on here but a Wimpy! I didn’t even know they still existed tbh. Happened to find myself in Swanage at lunchtime doing a long coastal walk and needed some food and spotted the Wimpy. Didn’t seem busy so in I went, first off nice friendly welcome and table service in a burger bar!! My burger and chips was very nice indeed and better than any MacDonald’s or Burger King I have had - well done Wimpy.

We popped in as we were looking for somewhere quick for a late lunch and thought we would reminisce. Food was as you would expect, service was brilliant. Both waitress and chef very friendly.

My sister and I visited swanage wimpy on 20/03/18 a trip down memory lane as we don’t have one where we live . Staff were amazing very accommodating and great service , food lived up to our lovely tasty memory (bender burger ! Cheese burger & coke float !!) took us right back there!!! Will definitely go back , nice to eat with crockery and a knife & fork .

Had a Bender with Chase in a bun and sweet potato fries and a Wimpy burger also with sweet potato fries. Good value, quick service and surprisingly busy for a Sunday in February. Friendly, polite staff. Recommended for reasonably priced fast food. I believe that Wimpy is having a resurgence !

No frills here, but you can take a step back into a different era and enjoy burger bars as they used to be.

We arrived here a minute before breakfast had finished, and we were seated quickly and allowed to order breakfast. Very nice friendly staff and were very accommodating with my dietary needs as well. well priced and good location to just pop in at any time. Food was hot and nice, and i ate everything. Can't really fault it for what we paid. Thank You

I'm really glad there is a Wimpy still nearby, it's a bit of a drive but Wimpy is a part of my childhood, so I always love a trip out to Swanage. Love the bendy sausage, it was the only sausage I would eat as a kid lol.

I'm not a fan of burgers but called in for lunch in the Swanage Wimpy today. We were greeted with a smile , served at the table and the food came on China plates with real steel knife and fork. I had a baked potato with cheese. The potato was perfectly cooked and very nicely presented with a salad garnish. My husband's cheeseburger was tasty and also nicely presented. We had cups of tea with our meal. The cups were a generous size and came with Lotus biscuits.

Decided to go for a little something different today, so on our 2 granddaughter's request (16 & 13yo) we headed for Wimpey's...... Me and the wife haven't had a wimpy in years!

Es un restaurante antiguo Wimpy llamado pero la comida es del 100%, estado aquí un par de veces, bien servido bien cocinada, llena de sabor. Que si en Swanage.

Horas de apertura no son excelentes pero con comida como este, eso no es una mala cosa. No como el viejo de Wimpys

I used to visit Wimpy in Cornwall in the 1980's and this brings back great memories of my childhood! Wimpy was the British version of fast food. Lots of burgers and grills but served by waitress/waiter on real plates with cutlery.Wimpy has updated their menu since the 1980's. I usually opt for a childhood favourite but there is a good range. Where it beats the other fast food venues is that its chips are gluten free and they can cater for celiacs! Even their ketchup is gluten free. The staff are very helpful.The restaurant is typical of a fast food venue in terms of decor but the food is fresh, cooked to order and better than other chains. Wimpy just does fast food better.

We are here because we couldn't find anywhere else to eat at night that didn't cost a lot and that we liked. We weren't expecting much but were met by a friendly member of staff. I ordered something different to the menu and my order was accepted. The tables, etc, were spotless and our meals arrived quickly and hot. We were asked if everything was satisfactory and our meal was tasty. Well done Swanage Wimpy. We even got a wave goodbye as we left.
