We came here first after the beautiful coastal walk anc had yummy hoe made cakes - a pistachio and lemon slice and an almond cherry frangipani slice. We sat in the garden over looking the stunning coast. Plates of gorgeous food were coming out as we sat there and so we decided to come back for brunch. It did not disappoint!! A fully loaded back bacon sandwich with the softest brown bread and for myself avo on sourdough toast with poached eggs and herby tomatoes… so yummy. Perfectly seasoned. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and we can’t wait to go back next time we are here and try the enormous fish (whale) n chips!! Easily the yummiest food in Swanage in the best location, with easy parking, dog friendly and a coastal walk with stunning trees and views. Thank you

Lovely café, serving very good restaurant-quality food. The people in the kitchen know what they're doing! One of our favourite places to eat in Swanage. Lunch is served 12pm until 3:30pm, can be worth eating a bit later to avoid the rush.

Amazing views, tasty food and drink and a beautiful setting in a clifftop castle. You can walk up the staircase to the Belvedere Terrace above for even more amazing views of the Jurassic Coast.

We enjoyed the Fishcake, Scallops, local ham egg and chips and the Cheese and Ham Panini, all the dishes were fresh and tasty. Good friendly service and great views back towards Swanage.

I visit Durlston Country Park once or twice a year so was already familiar with this beautiful setting. On this occasion my partner and I decided to actually plan a lunch visit to the restaurant so that we wouldn't be in a rush to get anywhere or too late for a meal. We both agreed that the food we had was astonishingly good quality, and hoped that the chef(s) get the recognition they deserve. I can't digest large amounts of starchy food so chose soup and a dressed side-salad - light dishes that are roughly thrown together with basic ingredients in most cafes - but here they are truly exceptional with flavours I could not replicate at home. My partner's fish and chips was also amazingly good quality and clearly made from scratch with freshly caught cod. Being nature-nerds we also enjoy reading the hundreds of names of species found locally that are engraved on panels around this light and airy venue.

Visited for lunch, two adults and two children one of whom is Coeliac. Waitress was lovely, very clued up about gluten free with separate fryers etc. All of our food was delicious and excellent value. Would definitely recommend booking as it gets so busy.

Having read the good reviews and having struggled to find a place to cater for vegetarians and vegans, I was really pleased to find this place and when I made the booking the lady on the phone was really nice and helpful. However, on the day, which was a special family reunion, I was disappointed by the really obvious "couldn't care less" attitude of the waiting staff which spoiled the experience sadly. I have waitressed myself for many years and we have also run a few family hospitality business's so we know what it means to smile at your customer and give good service. This needs work with the young staff who were serving that day!!! However, the food was excellent. The meat eaters enjoyed their roast very much and the vegetarian and vegan also had really tasty options. The chocolate brownie for dessert was also really nice and the views are stunning.

Visited today as we do many times a year. Always good service, great food and friendly helpful staff. However, today was the last time I can drink the awful coffee without making a review. As normal today’s Cappuccino was like drinking a glass of hot milk as so weak. Then asked for a flat white, well a flat white it certainly was not! Can I suggest you visit Coffee Saloon in Wareham who make the best coffee ever. Why is it that some places just do not know how to make a good coffee, especially seeing what they charge. Anyway, here’s hoping they take note and on my next visit I am rewarded with a decent Cappuccino!

For the same price as a carvery at other restaurants you can enjoy a superb, served Sunday lunch with freshly cooked vegetables (not stewed under lights) and stunning roast potatoes and home made Yorkshire puddings and the best quality meats and gravy perfectly prepared. Have the sticky toffee pudding for afters you will never taste anything better. Incredible value for money. You need to book early. Very tasty roast. They do a different roast each week and I have had the lamb one week and the pork another. Both absolutely gorgeous.

I love this place. The staff are excellent as is the food here. They offer a great range of food, a locally sourced menu called 7 Mile (meat and veg sourced within 7 miles!) and also Vegan options. I had a Sunday roast yesterday and it was superb. I'm particular about my Sunday roast and this has topped anything else I've had in Dorset. Furthermore, what I love about this place, is it is set in Durlston Country Park which means you can either walk your dinner off in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) or work up an appetite. Either way, great food, polite staff and beautiful surroundings! Gets a 5* from me!

As a recent new resident in Swanage I always take the coastal path to Durleston Castle to eat, when I have visitors but this will not be the case again. I ate their last Saturday when I had visitors down. The Fish n Chips were fantastic.

Mark's cooking is some of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. Specials are always surprising and just that little bit adventurous, beyond the usual and ordinary and different to what you would expect or have eaten anywhere before having that personal twist that each chef imparts when preparing his own recipes cooked from scratch with fresh, quality produce. The various tastes on your palate combine perfectly and complement the dish as a whole to make eating here a truly rewarding and satisfying experience. All dishes on the menu and not just specials are prepared to the same high standards and quality. You can tell that the chefs really care about their work and that much thought, care and attention to detail goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen. Menus are well balanced and allow for every taste, hunger and budget. Good quality wines and drinks add to the pleasure! Home made sweets and excellent coffee round off your meal and give you that aaaahhh! feeling without the feeling of over indulgence and what better to ready you for that walk around the cliffs! If you never do anything else go to Seventh Wave at least once in your life! Spoil yourself and go again and again. you won't be disappointed.

We’ve been going here for breakfast for years -every time we are on holiday and still love it- the staff are really friendly and helpful, food terrific and setting and view can’t be beaten. Pay and display parking free for blue badge, and wheelchair friendly lift between cafe and toilets. Dogs are allowed in terrace and in an inside section of the cafe. Menu and (I assume) suppliers do change frequently but all have been fine. Thanks!
