We found this little tea room by a search, didn't know what it was like...very surprised, lovely scones, quite little place and very warm welcome by the staff. Get some cakes to go too! As they looked so GOOD. What a gem, we don't make a habit of leaving reviews, but we thought we should. The couple from Norfolk😉

The was an afternoon tea birthday celebration but the standard of the food was disappointing. There were only two types of finger sandwiches. The scones had clearly been reheated and were still steaming hot 20 minutes after being served and therefore the clotted cream melted into butter and were very chewy. The staff did offer more scones. The macaroons were of a poor quality - soft and not crispy on the outside. The venue is lovely and the staff polite and helpful but overall the quality of the food for the price was disappointing.

The staff helpfully opened the lower room indoors for those trying to avoid the wasps in the garden. We stopped for coffee and cake/cheese scone after visiting the castle as we are regular NT café visitors. It was very busy initially and I commend the cashier on her patience and cheerfulness. The coffee and cake was of the usual NT good standard, but it seemed more expensive than the other NT places we have visited. It was the most expensive coffee we had all week (perhaps ever)! Watch out for the upright stones on the pavement corner outside. They are probably an historic feature, but definitely a trip hazard.

This has fast become our favourite spot for a morning coffee and cake. Whether we are sea swimming, kayaking or out on the jetskis, Joe’s Cafe is our go to spot! Welcoming staff, prompt service and incredible view. They offer vegan and gluten free options and are very accommodating of dietary requirements. Be sure to check this beach cafe out. They also do a banging paella night 🍲

We stopped here by chance for some food the other evening whilst trying to find somewhere to eat after a long day at Bovington. It’s easy to miss this as it’s not on the main road and that’s a pity because it’s brilliant. The staff were extremely friendly and the food service was fast and efficient. We had a curry and ham, eggs, chips and peas and the portions were fantastic. Neither of us walked away hungry or disappointed. If it wasn’t for the fact that we had a long journey ahead we could have quite easily stayed for the evening. This is how a proper pub should be: Warm, welcoming and leaving you wanting more. 👍👏👏

The best restaurant to eat at!!! The Fox had the best menu out of all the places we went to and we actually visited twice! I would recommend the dirty fries/Asian cauliflower and chicken wing starters-Pan fried chicken supreme and the Fox Inn burger! The service was excellent and the food amazing!!

Poor quality food. Chips were overcooked and not very tasty. I tasted haddock which was ok. Fish cake was completely tasteless no fish in it just potato covered in batter. I’m at loss how restaurants can serve such poor quality food and think they can get away with it.

I tried to order tea and scones at Knoll House restaurant today but there was no one who seemed to want to serve us. We asked at reception after waiting for ages at the bar for someone and was told to ring the bell. We eventually found the bell which was a door bell and not easy to see and after waiting again for an age, no one came. We rung the bell for a second time and stood waiting discussing what we should do when a very harassed waitress arrived carrying a full tray. When I asked if we could order she was unapologetic and unpleasant and told us she was unsure if we could have scones because they had been busy with a table of 22. I asked her to check to see and while standing there still waiting I felt the whole experience was now so awful that I didn’t want to stay and spend my money here. This was supposed to be a special treat for a friend and I that don’t see each other often and instead it felt like we were a massive inconvenience and completely unwelcome. I know staffing is difficult and expensive these days but treating people that have come in wanting to spend there money with you like that is appalling. We decided to leave and as we left we told the member of staff on reception that we were leaving because the waitress was rude and we couldn’t get served and even then no apology was given, no attempt to retain us as customers and seemly no concern that two paying customers were leaving and taking there money elsewhere. We had a lovely visit in a very fine cafe in Swanage and will not return to Knoll House and judging by the truly awful service we had today, no doubt this feedback will be ignored.
