The best restaurants serving British food in Canford Cliffs Poole South West

A very enjoyable and good value breakfast, efficient service and dog friendly, we all look forward to returning in the near future.

This used to be our fave coffee shop in the area. Changed hands a while back and we’ve given it a few shots to impress but it hasn’t, so won’t be going back. First ordered toasties and coffee to go. Coffees arrived but food took so long the hot coffees were cold. My daughter ordered an iced coffee and it looked nothing like the drink she’d had there previously and tasted and looked like the coffee shot had been forgotten. Mentioned this to the girls making the coffees who spoke to a lady that I believe is the owner. She basically said that’s how we make them if you don’t like it we,ll put a shot in but it will be 1.50 extra. I explained I didn’t think it had been made right but they were borderline rude to be honest. Went back in recently for a couple of banana breads and a couple of coffees. (Flat white and mocha) Pretty gobsmacked that this was £16.50. Waited for the bread and the girl serving walked past and literally threw the box of bread on the table in front of us. No words, no smile. As a comparison we went to the incredible bigwigs bakery the next day had the friendliest swift service, 2 of the same coffees and delicious homemade praline pastry and a huge sausage toastie to dine in for £15.10. We are regular visitors to the cafe, generally for coffee and chat, but sometimes with friends for lunch or brunch. The staff are so lovely- we always have a warm welcome and the drinks and food are consistently good.

Our Christmas day was amazing the food was excellent, the service was above and beyond. Was a very calming and relaxed atmosphere. We felt very welcome. Thank you so much. Sue

Took 30 minutes to get our first drink and about 45 minutes to get our food order, food was basic at best and my pizza was dry and just had pepperoni on it, very basic and not very nice. Finished food and they left our plates on the table for one hour, waited for 2nd round of drinks for over 45 minutes, at which point we asked for the bill due to the delay. The staff had a no care attitude, we’re totally disorganised and completely chaotic. When you come for a meal whilst being on holiday you expect professional standards and a restaurant to want their customers to have a nice time, neither applies in this case. Worst restaurant experience I’ve had in many years - avoid at all costs!!

So-so disappointed, we went there as it was a friend’s birthday and had pizzas but they were as tough as old boots, the knives would not cut through the base, when I tackled the waitress she said it was the way we cook them! I’m 75 so had many pizzas in my time and this is way down my list. The sweet course was nice but at £9 + the slice of cheesecake is the smallest I ever seen and they didn’t even give you a fork so had to use my finger to get it on the spoon. What a let down for a high class area!!!!

We popped in here whilst walking from Bournemouth to Sandbanks. The setting is good , tidy and clean. Service was good and there was a range of food options. We didn’t have to wait long to order and our food was delivered within 15 mins. We had the jacket potato’s and they were lovely. Hot, tasty and fresh. The side salad was plentiful.
