Jazz Cafe in Poole

We popped in here whilst walking from Bournemouth to Sandbanks. The setting is good , tidy and clean. Service was good and there was a range of food options. We didn’t have to wait long to order and our food was delivered within 15 mins. We had the jacket potato’s and they were lovely. Hot, tasty and fresh. The side salad was plentiful.

Truly awful. This place seems to go from bad to worse. I've come here a few times and apart from the stink of dogs the prices are now truly unethical. I paid £9 - yes, NINE POUNDS sterling for a COFFEE and an ICE LOLLY. I should have refused but I just told them I thought it was disgusting. What right do they think they have to rip people off like that? Truly disgusting. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. On principle.

We arrived at 15:50. Told they were stopping food so had to order quickly. At 16;25, the table next to us received burger and chips. Complained and told “they forgot his order”. Says everything. Not interested and the staff stand around aimlessly.

What a gem of a place. Right on the beach and dog friendly, this cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Just enjoy a beer or coffee or have something off the menu. We had a ciabatta which came with skinny fries and salad and servings are huge! We shared and our friends shared chicken nachos which was also huge and delicious. Lovely staff and really welcoming compared to other pretentious beach side restaurants we tried (rock water is very unwelcoming, everyone head to toe in Zara with wag friendly Louis bags) . Sorry not to have visited Jazz on a music night as I bet it is epic! I’ll be back time and again

Great food, lovely atmosphere but very dubious that there was one price on menu outside and inside some dishes were more expensive… difference of £7 for a platter! Telling a member of staff about this I got a shrug of the shoulders and no comment! Staff not really engaged at all. Pity as place looked great and food was good quality if expensive as expected in the area.

I don’t think I have come across a more un-family friendly place than the jazz cafe. No highchairs just booster seats which is not suitable for babies and even worse no baby change. Food was disgusting, fatty and stone cold. We won’t be returning

No food served between 12-12.30pm which is such a shame. (Breakfast served until 12 and lunch from 12.30). We had to go and amuse ourselves for half an hour but we did get our order taken by 12.30 and were served 10-15 mins later. Food and drinks were both good. Bit pricey but everywhere is these days.

A very nice setting just off the boardwalk between Bournemouth and Sandbanks, with a pleasant outdoor seating area and nice seating inside. That's the good news. The bad news is that it is ludicrously expensive, there are no costs shown for the coffee or tea so it is a 'surprise' when you get your bill. Served by a young man who seemed to have no idea of how to operate the machines or the till so took ages to be served, then the young man disappeared into the customer toilets for 10 minutes (a queue was forming outside) and when he left, no sign of washing his hands or using the hand dryer. So I pity the next customer who were served coffee / tea / cakes by him..

I love the decor and atmosphere at Jazz cafe. it's really worth visiting and seeing for yourself. food and coffee delicious. dogs welcome

£17.25 for 2 coffees and 2 hot chocolate’s that tasted of warm water absolute rip off, won’t be returning The place is pretty filthy too !!

Haven’t been here for years. Same luke warm luxury hot chocolate! The reason I never came back from years before. The toilets are a disgrace. Light fitting hanging out the celling. Toilet paper holder broken, loo roll all over the floor. I’m actually shocked it hasn’t changed or improved for years since I’ve been here. It’s exactly the same! Disgusting. It’s up for sale! You can tell they have no care in it anymore. Although it’s still just a bad as it always was!

Such a bad visit, reminded me of hospital food, but the food I’ve had recently in hospital is better, way too overpriced for a quick lunch of a sandwich and jacket potato, microwaved too, poor potato didn’t see a glimps of an oven. Salad was so old it needed a new hip and was just dirty and run down. Just seen it’s up for sale, hopefully new owners will know what they are doing and it can thrive again ( and the lettuce)

Food extremely overpriced and dripping in grease I couldn’t eat it! Staff were nice and lovely setting for a drink but would not recommend it for food.

Been here before as a couple and it was fine but expensive however went today with two under 2years old and no facilities ! No baby changing area and there were a lot of mums with babies in there at lunch time ! No high chairs just booster seats so useless for under 2s ! Had to sit with 7 month old on my lap whilst holding her lunch in the other hand then nowhere to change her or her sister ! Another young mum asked as her very young baby needed to be changed but no provision

Their own website out of date with opening times. Yesterday they were shut by 3pm. It takes less time to update a website than to make a coffee! Shore road kiosk was open and the view was better.

I don’t usually send reviews but I hated my time here. I ordered a burger which was standard no issues but the manager was HORRID! So entitled and rude to their staff, bless them.

Got here 2 minutes to 12. So breakfast had ended and you can’t order lunch until 12.30. But got told to queue as we could order but we wouldn’t see it until after 12:30. We were fine with that. Queued for 15 minutes and we can’t order food. So then waited 15 minutes to queue again to order over priced food. While sat next to a dripping ceiling. Buckets around us and lights on where the drips were coming from, electricity and water… really? All the while trying to entertain a 2 your old and a dog. So can’t say will come again.

The cafe is in a lovely spot on the Sandbanks beach, and was a cosy retreat from the awful weather, with a lovely open fire. Nice atmosphere and dog friendly. BUT...very disappointed to have to line up to order, and hot drinks are made while you wait, adding to the waiting times. It took me 15 mins to place our order. If the cafe can't cope with table service, please at least bring over the hot drinks once made and keep the line moving. There was a waitress standing around the whole time I was queuing up, adding to the frustration. The big breakfast was tasty, however i wanted something smaller, but there wasn't an option to order a small/half breakfast. The sausage and bacon were delicious. We went back later in the day to get coffee/cake and faced with the same annoying queue to order/wait for drinks. We didn't return.

Such a great place to come to relax and unwind. The staff are brilliant vans make it a nice atmosphere to be in. They make the best coffees and hot chocolate by far. It’s a dog friendly cafe and they are all made to feel welcome. Make sure you visit

Went for lunch and ended up chatting to the owner, got invited to the jazz night that following week with live music. Fantastic time.

Occasionally pop in for a coffee and croissant…never really noticed prices, on this occasion my wife said to me that she had just paid £16.50 for 2 coffees and 2 croissants at the counter (not table service) on checking the menu we had been charged £4.50 for each pastry…by comparison we had recently returned from Palma, Majorca, we visited a bakery in the heart of the city on 3 occasions and were charged €7 for exactly the same, and the croissants were freshly baked twice the size and warm….

It’s kind of a weird set up charging £15.95 for a full English selling it as the big daddy but no choice of a small daddy? Essentially it meant you got 2 eggs and if you ask if they can be poached it’s a flat no and forget brown toast. We sat outside as there is a superb view and the weather was lovely. The tables are wobbly and cannot be rectified as they are actually broken. The coffee was surprisingly nice to be honest. You order inside where who I imagine is the owner is ruling a number of staff with a rod of iron. You can see in the kitchen which doesn’t look great the whole place could do with a good clean and refresh including the service style and menu. Such a beautiful spot inside was very quiet where other places we had past on our bike ride were fully booked and no chance of a seat. Location is the only selling point I’m afraid 😧

This is a relaxed nice friendly place to stop for a coffee or to eat. They do a great sharing fish platter with salt & pepper quid, whitebait, mackerel pate, smoked salmon, salad, bread, crackers, olive oil & balsamic. It cost £29 & was a bargain as it was so generous it could have easily fed three people.

Excellent location, service, standard of food and ambiance. Spent a great couple of mornings reading and enjoying the sunshine there. Bonus was the live jazz on Sunday lunchtime. One negative, however, the toilet (only one unisex) wasn't nice!!
