My fiancé and I fancied doing something different today. Having previously worked in Reigate, he’d been to the shop many times and said it was very good. We travelled from Farnham and came away feeling like we completed wasted our Saturday. We were told it was a 15 minute wait which isn’t a problem. 40 minutes later we finally got our food but even that wasn’t what we ordered. We were told after the second time coming in to chase the food, that they didn’t have any pickle so I was unable to get the sandwich I ordered. Why was this not checked upon ordering? It wouldn’t have been an issue at the start but after a 40 minute wait, being told I couldn’t even have what I ordered was a joke. On top of that, we ordered untoasted but they came toasted. At that point it wasn’t worth the hassle. Fair dues, we were given a free coffee which softened the blow. I don’t actually blame the staff, I blame whoever runs/owns the shop. Leaving a young and experienced staff force to fend for themselves on a busy Saturday is a terrible was to run an establishment. I imagine they were very stressed and needed more hands on deck. Overall a waste of a journey, the sandwich was very mid and we won’t be returning again.

Coffee, drinks, sandwiches, cakes and ice cream. It’s conveniently located to grab a bite then walk across the bridge up to Reigate Hill. Toilets on site too. Friendly staff. They take card payments. A bit expensive.

We went for a family Xmas Sunday lunch. The rooms were immaculate as were the staff who were very friendly and helpful. The meal was a carvery of three courses all of which were tasty and well cooked. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel restaurant which ticked all the boxes.

Never again! Hotel close to the train station with a small pub underneath. With the English standards I have no problem with a somewhat “outdated” setup, BUT: - the hallway was full of rubbish and junk that you could hardly take a step without stumbling - the smell of the hotel was unpleasant - the rooms were equipped with the bare necessities, but some of the lights didn't work. The door lock was also broken - we received keys that didn't fit But the worst thing was that the rooms and the hotel were just dirty and disgusting. - Feces in the toilets - (intimate) hair on the sanitary facilities, - Hair and stains on the towels and in the bed - the windows are extremely moldy I am firmly convinced that this matter is not unknown to the employees. When we left the hotel prematurely (and, above all, hastily), we were laughed at and told that we should sort everything out with the booking platform and deal with them about the refund. There was no apology or anything. Kind advice for everyone who wants to fly home safely: it's best to look for other accommodation straight away ;-)

Planning permission was eventually received for conversion of the pub into residential units - and work has now commenced on the car park. A great pity - as this pub has played a large part in the lives of the local Reigate Hill community for many decades, and now has gone forever.
