The best restaurants serving British food in North Deal Dover South East

We had expected an a la carte menu for a special occasion. We’d checked the website which promised venison, duck and 28 day steak. We even told them it was a birthday celebration. Instead we got tapas. Perfectly good tapas at a fair price. But not what we wanted. And no happy birthday. Victuals used to be the fine dining restaurant in Deal. Now it is little different from Frog & Scot, which has also repositioned. Shame.

Proper old-fashioned tradtitional bakers. Excellent. The pack of 'mini rolls' is just right for a light lunch or tea-- just slap on the butter! yum

A nice, cheap hotel just as expected. Great location. Room was clean and tidy. I was in a room with shared bathroom which are pretty tired. Nice breakfast. Nice staff

Bloody fantastic!!!! The food is delicious and perfectly cooked. They don't skimp on the food you get a royal portion. It is more then enough for a grown working man. The people are really nice, I made a mistake I wanted it deliverd but I ticked that I would pick it up. They gave me a phone call and the man on the phone was really lovely. I can not praise this restaurant enough and we will definitely order again. Thank you for the lovely meal.

I phoned happy fryer up, asked about a breakfast to be paid over the phone and delivery. Was swiftly told “Can you call back in 10 minutes because he had customers waiting.” even though I would consider myself to be a customer. Just about to pay however gone elsewhere due to bad customer service.

Good pub-pub, great ale, good atmosphere.

We stayed in one of the balcony rooms, the room was huge with lovely decor. There was a big bath in the room. We had a balcony right by the beach which was also lovely. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Unfortunately, this was my second time here to give it the benefit of the doubt, as on my first visit I had to complain. I had a breakfast which was greasy, but edible. I wouldn't order again. My friend had the veg breakfast, and the burger was very dry. Desert was okay, except my friend had the apple pie with ice cream. It wasn't mentioned when ordering that the ice cream was extra cost. Cherry pancake was the best out of the bunch.

We happened on this place for breakfast on a Thursday morning. We had wanted to go somewhere else, but hadn't booked. It was big and deserted at 10am. We had two standard full English and a bacon buttie and a sausage sandwich and a hot chocolate and a latte. Everything was nice and the breakfasts were a sensible size. The food arrived fairly quickly.
