Happy Fryer in Dover

I phoned happy fryer up, asked about a breakfast to be paid over the phone and delivery. Was swiftly told “Can you call back in 10 minutes because he had customers waiting.” even though I would consider myself to be a customer. Just about to pay however gone elsewhere due to bad customer service.

Made an order via thier website for home delivery. It never arrived, and on calling basically didn't care as it was now closing time. No reasons or apologies. Frustrating that there was no attempt by them to try and deliver (we have security cameras to prove no delivery)

We would have given 6 stars if we could - absolutely wonderful service & delicious fish & chips. Incredibly friendly, kind & hospbitable, we were offered complimentary tea & coffee whilst we waited a very short time for all our food to be freshly-cooked & prepared. We were made to feel very warm & welcomed & the food tasted all the better for that, although it’s clearly excellent quality. Myself & my partner can’t recommend them highly enough - thank you 🙂

A good size portion and very tasty, friendly people in there too. I had the breakfast Mrs fish and chips (a lot of chips)

Food was good and large portions, although for the price you’d expect that. Not great for children or babies if they want to use the toilets. No baby changing and tiles dangerously hanging off the wall.

The food is about what you'd expect, however for the price, it's not bad whatsoever. Portions are large, food sometimes comes over seasoned.

Took mum to age uk today and whilst walking back, we passed this place, thought hmmm I can eat right now, walked in, was greeted in a very kind and welcoming manner, asked if we would like to eat in or take away, chose to eat in, me and the wife ordered an all day breakfast, which came with one egg, two sausages (really nice sausages actually), two half slices of toast, beans, bacon & grilled tomatoes, My mother ordered the veggie breakfast which was mushrooms, veggie sausages, hash browns, two slices of toast, two eggs, grilled tomatoes, we all had a coke with ice, the price averages about 10 / 12 per person which isn't too bad. The qualify definitely makes it worth it. The menu had a huge variety of different things to choose from, so next time I'm going to try the fish and chips! Highly recommended 👌

Customer service very good, teamwork all round. Food served, hot, tasty and plenty of. Not just a fish and chip shop, plenty to offer, wheelchair access, no parking outside but a pay park a short distance away, telephone orders taken plus delivery. No rush to leave premises, nice friendly place for food stop of with the children. Toilets and cleanliness to good standard.

Good service and good food. This is a great value for money. The batter is excellent and the fish fresh. The fries deserved a bit more cooking but the portion was so big it was all forgiven.

I have just left after having an amazing lunch, the food was lovely, the service, if I could, I would give 10 stars because the gentlemen are always smiling and welcoming and making sure everything is satisfactory. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Also I order from just eat and the portions are always generous, delivered on time and still hot. What an amazing business, thankyou

Went there due to having had good feedback from our friends. Happy to add my voice to theirs. Generous sized portions, well cooked and tasty. Would like to go back when fully open and eat in there as the menu looks very tempting.

Big portions but very greasy and not a very good batter. Some of the worst f&s we ever had. They couldn’t squeeze more mushy peas in the little dish. Tartare sauce in little plastic sachet. Unatmospheric dining area. Far too expensive for what it is.

Fish, cod roe and chips are fantastic - it’s my go-to stop whenever we’re in Deal. Price is not cheap but comparable and the quantity served is pretty generous.

Went for a family meal & it's the best chip shop I've been too. Great service and also has a bar. Cod & chips are the best here. We ordered a savaloy for my son & was going to share our chips with him but they put chips on for him too. Will definitely be back when next in Deal. Staff were lovely.

First time using this chip shop and I'm not convinced it was the nicest. The girl who took my order was polite and friendly, however when I got home there was food missing from my order that I had paid for. Also the quarter pounder burger was like a cheap burger from Iceland, that was also missing the sauce I asked for. Portions were large, but missing food and sauce left me disappointed!!

Waited 15 mins for small chips ... another guy walks in and gets served before us then we get blanked despite waiting for order.

Joke of a place kept me and my son waiting while serving others who ordered way after us we just wanted a small chips

First time visit and very impressed with food, srrvice and atmosphere. I ordered traditional fish (cod) and chips with mushy peas. To be honest, the experience was top-notch. The meal was delicious, large portion... so much that they and I forgot about the mushy peas I had ordered. The service was epic, the place well presentable. Above all, excellent customer service. The cost was about £13, not sure whether that included the mushy peas!!

My first time here, with my mum and dad and their dog, my husband and 2 children ages 6 and 8. We are so pleased we spotted the sign for this place up by the beach. Just a short walk from the arcades, through the carpark. A very warm welcome on arrival and settled quickly into the lovely atmosphere. Delicious food, large portions and very friendly, helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal, the children loved their Oreo milkshakes to. We would definitely recommend here with the family, for a friendly, relaxed dining experience. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

Friendly service and great fish and chips. I ordered Rock and chips and it was cooked to order, large portion of fresh rock perfectly cooked with fresh crisp chips. Recommended!

Asked for a large sausage and small chips. Ended up with a small sausage and two lots of chips! Very annoying when people serving you don’t listen properly to your order and it ends up costing you more for something you didn’t even want! A lot of chips going in the bin!

We have eaten here - in the restaurant or take away - many times. The range of food offered is excellent & is invariably well cooked and the service is always prompt and friendly - even to noisy small boys

All good not a huge choice but most things with chips or a great salad. Our 4 meals were very good and not expensive. You can eat there or enjoy a picnic on the Walmer green across the road.

Got 2 chips, one salt and vinegar and one with just salt. Both completely tasteless with barely anything on either of them. Chips were undercooked, stodgy and powdery inside. threw them away and went somewhere else. The guy was also pretty rude and grumpy.

When eating in the store everything is perfect beautiful chips, fish, sauce, sides and homemade dishes. But, ordering for delivery is different and constantly bad, chips arrive mushy, sauce and sides are cold. I do not recommend home delivery if eating from here.

Excellent plaice and chips, really large fresh fish , option to have salad or peas. Efficient service by friendly staff , meal cooked to order. There is also a good range of alternatives to fish, mainly traditional English dishes , all good value.

Placed an order for delivery our drink didn’t arrive chips were cold and there was sauce in the burger which we didn’t ask for tried calling the shop 2 but no answer.

Ordered a breakfast the sausages were deep fried and that lool like charcole that sent half of breakfast well disappointed I advise not to order from here

We had an excellent meal. Well cooked and presented. Everything is reasonably priced and the menu offers something to suit everyone. The service is fast and friendly. Every age group is catered for here.

10/10 hands down fish and savoli are banging/delicious much better than some of the chippies you get in my manor finchley can't fault this establishment. Shout out 2 all the bossman and the blonde bird doing the hoovering she was very polite very welcoming with a lovely smile. Keep up the outstanding graft guys 👌👌👌👌👌

Not just a Fish and Chip shop, though the fish and chips are superb, this is a great place for all sorts of home cooked food. We went with my parents and the kids, so 3 generations, we all had something different, and everything was delicious. Top it off with excellent, friendly and attentive service, and owners who truly seem to care about their customers. Love it!

Really lovely place! Great customer service and very tasty food with large portions and great value.

Such a disappointment. Ordered Fish, curry sauce and small battered sausage and chips and charged £16.60 !!! Called up to try and sort the ‘over charge’, and they even worked out bill as £12.10. I wasn’t asked if I wanted a refund or anything but passed to a different worker who recalculated the bill and made it . . . . £16.60 ! No apology no return custom. I would advise to travel to Mill Hill and get your chips from The Golden Fillet !!!

The people of the Happy Fryer couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did they deliver to us at a holiday park, accept cash on delivery, but because we had just arrived in Deal for our weeks holiday and didn't know where any shops were, they went out of their way to pick us up a couple of pints of milk so we could have a cuppa after our long drive. Now the food. What can I say. It was the tastiest chippy tea we'd had for years. Everything was perfectly cooked, hot when it got to us and really gave us a sense of having a chippy by the sea. I don't think I can recommend this place enough. If you are in Deal then get yourself to the Happy Fryer for a genuine culinary delight and some of the best and kindest service I've ever experienced

Very friendly service. Really enjoyed my brunch. Only criticism fried eggs hard but I didn't mention i liked them runny.

Breakfast was reasonably priced and well presented. Staff were attentive and pleasant. I haven't eaten here for a while and certainly would again. Good breakfast selection available.

Came to visit for a breakfast date and the space, food and service were all exceptional. I regularly order fish & chips here as it’s my personal favourite, but their breakfast menu selection, prices and quality are amazing. Would give more stars if possible! X

Nice little local chippy. We turned up outside of a typical lunch time (many other chippies were shut at the time). The staff were friendly and welcoming and the range on offer was better than one might typically find. We done in and the food was good with very generous portions.

Having phoned my order in on Friday night on arriving still had to wait 20 minutes whilst the cooked the fish cakes and cod. Then on getting home found they had actually managed to burn the bcod batter
