Poor bar staff. Ordered 2 pints of guinness. The kid done half a glass and banged them on the bar and said it helps the settle. Did not even get a full pint. Being a guinness drinker I know my pint. Manager unable to speak to me. Lost my service. Trouble is they use kids with no idea what they are doing. Should not be behind the bar unless they know what they are doing. They are not interested in doing the job. When I spoke to her she said that's the way I have been trained. Guinness needs to stand. Go and serve another customer and come back to it. Never do that because they would of forgot what they was doing. Rubbish never again. 🤬😡

A fantastically run pub. Great quiz night hosted by Paul. Mel and the rest of the team provide a warm friendly service and the food is always spot on.

On holidays from Australia, staying in Folkestone for 3 days - came here on recommendation to no disappointment. Great gluten free options for my wife, great selection of delicious food & great customer service (especially Kian, Bethany & Ruby). Therefore, came a consecutive second night with the in-laws.

Good meal,service & atmosphere.

We had a party for my daughter’s 21st, for 21 people. Everything was cooked and on time and very well organized. They timed all the starters and mains all at the same time even telling us when to go up for the carvery so we could all eat together. Well worth the visit especially when you can arrange a big party and everyone at the party left really happy. All the staff were happy and friendly and made us all feel welcome. Thank you

My mum loves to go here for the Carvery. The staff are always welcoming and happy to assist with any questions or special requests. I try to follow a vegan diet and the chef offers to prepare some of the veg without cheese sauces etc. So kind.

Great carvery. Friendly and helpful staff. Good parking. Option to sit outside or inside. Good choice of veg. Our foster son was allowed to try all four of the carvery meats. Good seating and space between neighbouring tables

Absolutely fabulous new year celebration, great food, great company, entertainment was great. Really enjoyed it, we also attended a Halloween party which also fabulous! If your wanting great family time you should definitely visit the rock Rose!!

Staff are always very polite and positive, roast dinner was plentiful and tasty.

It's bland. Typical off some of these places. I have not tried myself but have been told it's very hit or miss In response to your response I have been there many times, just not too eat

Visited here twice this week while away in the area, great food and staff were very polite, clean and tidy. Bonus with there being a kids play area too.

Hi, We visited the RR at 2:30PM on Sunday 20/04/25 and after being shown to our table I went to the bar and ordered 2 standard carvery meals and drinks. We have visited many times over the last 2 years and we both agreed that the meat portions on this visit were very small. I wish I had taken a picture. The turkey I ordered was cut wafer thin. I could literally see through it. Its never been like this before. My wife had the pork and this equally was wafer thin. The vegetables were acceptable (not the best), the roasties had no crunch at all and the Yorkshire was cold. Thank god for the gravy. We were both disappointed with what we got. I don't know what happened since our last visit over 2 months ago and many times before this. I am not saying that we wont go again. We will give the RR one more chance. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pass comment.

Visited easter sunday. Very Friendly staff Quick service even though very busy. Food hot and delicious.

Absolutely amazing. Food was quick to come out and was excellent 👌 Only to be served by Amanda Dodd , she was very attentive. She made sure our meals were satisfactory and catered to all our needs at the same time . This women is an absolute asset to your team 👏.

Went for a 90th birthday party here, very good service and had a lovely burger! Hazel and Ruby in particular were really, really great. Top notch stuff :)

On arrival as pre booked turned up on time. I was unaware that a young toddler counted for a chair, so when I explained and apologised for miss understanding. I was greeted with such rudeness by the Irish lady allocated at the front of the establishment. She rudely explained that they were fully booked and gave us the last available table. The table we were allocated were right near the front entrance, so every time the door opened we felt the draft. Adding to this our two tables pushed together were very unsteady and unable to leave our drinks on. I asked the lady that had previously placed us if it would be possible to move us to another table she very quickly and rudely with no decorum said they were fully booked and could not offer us another table. Throughout our meal, we saw many tables unused. We felt so uncomfortable we left as soon as we finished. sadly I chose this establishment to have my birthday lunch. I will not return. Not because of the food or the other staff members, we can not fault..but Purley on how we were treated on arrival by the the lady we had first interaction with.

After hearing poor reviews, we decided to visit and experience it for ourselves. From the time of walking in, to the time we left, we were made most welcome. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive.

I ordered the garlic breaded mushrooms and bitting into them they were full of oil and in the bottom of the dish full of oil! Not nice at all

Lunch for 3 was lovely. Lasagne, Steak & Ale Pie and Macaroni Cheese. Pie might be my new go-to (over mixed grill). Son loved the Macaroni Cheese and was greeted with an "mmmmm" & "banging". Teens lol. Quite busy but not over powering, nor did we have to wait too long for the food. Pudding was just as good. Might give the carvery a try next as this is very popular.

Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, good food at a reasonable price and Kids eat for £1 makes it even better. Ella, our waitress was friendly and helpful.

From meet and greet to bar service, service of roast meal which was hot, good variety of vegetables to selection of meat it was fantastic. The cost was very reasonable and we will definitely go again. We were checked on that our food was OK and then thanked for our custom. The ambience and location was brilliant with plenty of disabled parking. Toilets were clean and fresh. Well done to all staff members.

First time visiting and it definitely won't be the last. The food was brilliant and great value. Ryan was very welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to coming back

Excellent service food cleanliness and value

It was easy to order food and drink at the table, but the options were confusing. We both chose the same main course, which came with a choice of sauce. I ordered one main, then a second. The website said order one sauce, but didn't make it clear that the two mains had been amalgamated so we both ended up with the same sauce instead of our individual choices. IE it didn't make it obvious whether I was allowed to ask for two different sauces. It wasn't a huge problem, just a minor issue. The sauce was called PiriPiri but wasn't really very spicy. They were also, surprisingly, out of burgers???

A nice pub with all the pub classics in reasonable prices and in a lovely atmosphere. We were told waiting time for food at arrival which was close to the actual time. Great after a day out 👍

Me and my family came to your restaurant for a Mother’s Day meal, and the experience overall was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were attentive, always willing to help whenever it was necessary. I was served at the bar by Amanda, who was just a breath of fresh air. Always had a smile on her face, and was extremely polite to me and my family. Our server, Ruby was outstanding! All the staff were clearly rushed off their feet, and being in the service industry myself, I know how stressful it can be to work in a busy environment whilst still maintaining professionalism, and those two ladies, and the rest of the staff working that day demonstrated that impeccably. I without a doubt will definitely be returning, and highly recommend this place to anyone. Your staff are great ambassadors for your brand, amazing job everyone!

Our party of nine order their food at 6.45pm and was advised that our meal should be ready in about forty minutes due to the restaurant being very busy but unfortunately our food finally arrived after 7.45pm

Service was outstanding, incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delivered quickly and looked and tasted outstanding. The spicy burger was huge and packed with flavour and the skin on fries were crispy and melt in the middle. And the burger sauce made everything taste a hundred times better. The meals were affordable and the pitchers tasted delicious and were a good deal. The Salted Caramel Cookie Brownie was gooey and decadent with a light vanilla ice cream on the side, a good portion size and a delicious dessert. A great thank you to our server, Ryan, who made us feel welcome and maintained an upbeat attitude throughout the experience.

Been here fir over 1hour 15 minutes after ordering and still nothing. It not even busy. What joke! What food would I recommend. How would I know!

This was the first time going here, the staff were warm and welcoming, and very pleasent indeed. Whole place was clean and inviting. Food was very good as well. Will definitely return and recommend in the future. We had the carvery lots of vegetables to chose from and 3 differently prepared potatoe dishes.

Was a nice quiet evening. The only issue to me, it's an self order place lacks the personal touch of a waiter or waitress. The bowls for the starter were rusted, and in contact with the food, a bit of a food safety issue. In general, the food was average, not enough sauces on the plate, but it tasted ok. Would go again but wouldn't be near the top of any list as a must go place.

We went for a family meal at The Rock Rose. Husband had a mega mixed grill and my daughter and I both had steak. I honestly couldn't fault our visit here. The meal was perfectly cooked, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is always relaxed, and the floors and bar were very clean.

Food is good, very good. I am a huge fan of the burgher so I order it most of the time. Is a cosy place, when you seat there you will just lay back and relax. Even when the place is full is never too loud and you can have a normal conversation without shouting. At list twice a month we are there and just enjoy a nice meal and some chill. Service is always fast and the staff is always smiling and nice. Strongly recommend this place.

Popped in last minute for a spot of lunch. Didn't have a booking and wanted a table by a window. Mel quickly got a table ready for us and nothing seemed too much trouble, even they it was busy. Had lunch here with a group of friends. Been here a few times and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is always nice and hot, prompt service and nice atmosphere. Good selection of food on the menu and prices are very reasonable. Lots of space and tables to sit at. Nice place to eat and enjoy a drink.

A lovely experience with friends and children. Greeted at the door and then Ryan seated us. He also made sure we had everything we needed and checked everything was okay.

It was OK, carvery was spot on Came back today 16-02-25 after a stroke and sight lose. Melanie the manager was great helped us out put us in an area easier to get to and from table to carvery. All staff were so helpful and kind seeing me with cane and offering help at every stage. Very good service can not recommend enough well done and thank you for your kindness. A true breath of fresh air

We have visited today for a carvery, from the minute we arrived we have had excellent service. The manager Melanie helped us to an accessible table for my husband, all the team were so friendly and approachable and offered help straight away for my husband who is partially sighted which was a great help for me when visiting with young children. The chefs serving the carvery I think their names were Ben and Ryan were so friendly and brilliant with my children helping them with their plates and making them laugh. The staff have gone above and beyond to help us out and make our visit as easy and enjoyable as possible. 👍

Always consistently good at the Rock Rose. Sometimes forget that we need to order at the bar and not always reminded of this. Food always arrives promptly. Beef burgers a little overdone but in general good value for money

My wife had the roast, which was good for the money, I had beef chilli which was absolutely terrible and cost more than the roast. A soon full of chilli and a spoon full of rice and far more nachos on the plate than anything else. Not again that's for shore.

Solid gastro-pub with quick service. Most people come for the carvery, but the set menu food is usually better. Always comes out hot and full of flavour. Staff are attentive and always willing to help. Try to avoid Sundays as they have long lines for the carvery.

Went here to treat Mum and sister to a Sunday Lunch. Had not been to this place since it changed hands and it was a very nice surprise. The place was clean and well looked after, the staff were all friendly and efficient and had good communication. The Carvery was a pleasant surprise and a good value for money even given its typically more expensive on a Sunday. I could image midweek would be a steal. The food was all good and nicely cooked (carrots maybe left a little long under the heat lamp) and I NEED the recipe for the red pepper dophenires potatos, they were lush. Note, they only give you one square of Stuffing at this carvery when I like it to be on the self services. Would recommend and would go again.
