Very friendly welcome in a beautifully decorated pub with a large roaring log burner. Just what you need after a long walk with the dogs. The dogs were made as welcome as we were & the Sunday Roast was outstanding

Gran pub. Ambiente agradable y acogedor. Cerveza, sidra y comida eran fantásticos. Cervecería sería bueno probar en el verano.

Three wonderful courses of great tasting food served in a quaint cottage located in the beautiful village of Funtington. Recommended by a friend, we headed here for a birthday treat and thoroughly enjoyed great food in a lovely atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming team; all visible throughout the evening and all ensuring we enjoyed both the food and evening as a whole. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I am one of four retired men who enjoy regular cross-country hikes. Last Thursday, we started and finished our latest 7-mile trek at the Coach & Horses in Compton, a small town (population 450 approx.), so we were pleasantly surprised to discover this highly civilised pub in the town square. The pub is carefully decorated and provides patrons with a modern setting that manages to create a traditional ambience. Needless to say, the pub offers a splendid selection of beverages. What does need to be said is that the pub also provides a short but appetising menu of simple but professionally crafted dishes. The food is really good. Three of us had cheeseburgers and another had fish and chips. I am fussy about burgers because, so often, they are little more than default options, but the Coach & Horses delivered freshly cooked and highly satisfying fare. Oh, and I'd recommend the apple pie! And, you won't be surprised to hear that the service is friendly and quietly efficient. Believe me, the Coach & Horses is a jewel in the West Sussex countryside.

My Wife and I had a lovely meal here which was a 20 minute walk from a well known touring park nearby. They are a very dog friendly establishment, and accommodating our little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel ( Dexter) was not a problem. Everything was cooked to perfection, and all the young ladies waiting on the tables were friendly and always smiling. We enjoyed our food so much we booked at short notice for the Sunday lunch which many people rate very highly. I am now one of those people, and I would say if you are in the area then book a Sunday lunch here, you will not be disappointed, and I think we can say that it is probably one of, if not the best dining out Sunday lunches we have experienced. We booked again for New Years Eve, and as with the previous two visits, the food and service were excellent. Well done to all the staff at the Richmond Arms, you are doing an excellent job in an industry which is tough at the minute.

We arrived in our holiday home and realised we left our supper behind! We rang the pub who kindly squeezed us in with 2 hours notice. We had the nicest meal and lovely cheerful service. My partner is gluten free and they had a great g.f. Menu and he was very happy. At the end they gave us a chocolate - fantastic quality - what a great place.
