Cosy little cafe with lovely friendly customer service. Best breakfast me and Dad have had since moving to Wigan. Defo will be going back for the lunch menu as its highly recommended. PS. Thanks Gemma for the home made slice of Kinda Bueno cheesecake - tasted absolutely amazing. Can't wait to try the Biscoff equivalent 🥰😋

A party of 17 attended who had various meals. Found service slightly a bit slow but put it down to numbers of clientel. I did not have a starter as nothing was on the menu that I liked the look of. Main was flat iron steak. Was a bit tough. Noticed there was only one toilet for everybody. Not what you can call hygienic.

The food in here is really good, however it’s absolutely rotten, come on guys surely you can invest in a decent cleaner? Absolutely minging everywhere, the window sills, tables, chairs, tatty flower arrangements, every single thing is covered in dust and cobwebs Sort it out guys, come on

Popped in for an early lunch on a Tuesday, expecting it to be quiet. Opened the door to find it was packed. Welcoming staff managed to find us the last available table. Other customers were very warm and friendly, some coming from miles away, because today was pensioner's day with special discounted offers. My wife and I enjoyed a fish chips and mushy peas, with two lovely pints of Guinness for me and two enjoyable glasses of wine for her. Service with a smile, fantastic home-made food and drink. Other pubs we have visited, reviewed and been disappointed at, should come here for lunch and see how it is done properly, at an affordable price. £31ish overall for us! Very well done to the Union Arms, we'll be back again soon. There is no parking, but you can park up in nearby side streets. Thoroughly recommended

We called in with friends for a meal on Friday. What a mistake. We ordered one meal deal which included a starter (or dessert) a main meal and a drink, plus one main. Our friends ordered the same. Firstly we waited well over 30 mins for anything to arrive. Then one starter arrived and one main. Then about 15 min later another main. Then the second starter with what was supposed to be a main. Evidently the order had been taken down wrong (it was spicy meatballs and pasta as the main) all I got was the meatballs which was a starter. Eventually the final main meal arrived. By this time we had been there almost 2 hours. All the food came out at different times. They did offer to do anther pasta dish but by this time didn’t really feel like waiting. A member of our party did speak to someone (not sure if it was the manager or landlord) and we did get one free drink. Only of the two mans were acceptable. Won’t be returning.
