The best restaurants serving British food in Farndon Cheshire West and Chester North West

This is a piece of gold. It has 5 Star quality in what it provides which is: beautifully cooked Food ( both thought and quality goes in to providing flavour ) and the Pub itself has the preserves of an original exquisite bygone era full of interest and atmosphere. Unspoiled by modernisation. We had Sunday Lunch which couldn't be faulted . Looking forward to returning in all its seasons as lovely tranquil outside area . Beats most Sunday Lunches by a long chalk.

The smallest slice of Welsh Rarebit I’ve ever had and definitely not value for money . Very little cheese covering the tiniest piece of bread , which look lost on the plate . This was originally a Pub which from the outside still looks like one .However it’s now an upmarket restaurant that doesn’t sell sandwiches. The place was fairly empty with only a couple of diners . Being too skimpy with the portions will not create repeat business . Give a decent portion and customers will return ,skimp on the portions and customers won’t . It’s a nice place and sells nice food ,get you act together especially at lunch time ,not everyone wants a large plate . Save your posh menu for the night time and introduce a proper snack menu . It’s not about the price ,it’s the portions .

We stopped off on our way back to Wales. The service and food were excellent. I can very much recommend the gammon steak with pineapple, mushroom, egg and tomato on top. I would not normally order that, but it was spot on. Thank you to the staff and chef for a superb lunch.

Booked over telephone with a friendly person. Good easy car parking. The venue was very busy and it was only just 18.00. Pleasant atmosphere. Lovely decor. Good welcome and shown to our reserved table. Lovely chatty waitress. Food was excellent. The real Ale was excellent t. My steak was cooked to perfection. Lovely puds of cheese cake etc. Nice pudding menu with small but good choices. Pricesvery reasonable. Overall, a superb evening and I highly recommend this establishment.

POOR FOOD AND COLD AND THE BEER WASNT GREAT AND ITS NOT THE FRIST TIME WE BIN THERE AND GOT THE SAME COLD FOOD AND I WOULD NOT GO AGAIN

After a trip to Chester Zoo, we decided to go for food within walking distance of our BnB. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the steak and fries with beef dripping. Food was delicious and cooked to each of our preferences. Would highly recommend to anyone who's in the area. Great food, great staff, and great atmosphere.

Absolutely wonderful staff and food. Lovely ambience and dining experience. Stayed in the hotel and had dinner at the brasserie. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Excellent communication skills. The food was gorgeous.
