Redmond's Restaurant in Cheshire West and Chester

I've been to carden park once before 3 years ago and it was lovely especially the spa but going this year I enjoyed it so much more!! The facilities have always been second to none but this year what made it for me was the staff! They could not do enough for you. It was my birthday and we got upgraded to a lovely suite. Chocolates and card in room. The waiter Brought me a dessert with happy birthday on... Also took the service charge on which we told him to put back on. His name was Rob and he was really lovely a credit to the hotel. The lady Kate on reception was so lovely too! Ken the doorman was fantastic, so friendly and chatty. The piano man in the cocktail bar asked us for requests and even played happy birthday to me. I felt utterly spoilt and this was with a beautiful wedding on and I'm sure Christmas parties. When booking we did think it was a bit pricey but for service like this you don't begrudge it. Had an amazing massage and facial and the spa itself is just wonderful. Can't wait to return thank you for making our stay so special!!

I enjoy attending spas and will try and visit a different one at least every month or couple of months. Carden Park rates itself at the top of the luxury range and their prices are high end, which I don't mind paying for if that is what I will be receiving. However, for the shoddy service, poor quality food, and cold water in spa pools, the price should be half of what they are charging. However, good quality is not what you get and after booking an afternoon in the spa with an afternoon tea and treatment for me and my friend, I can say I was very disappointed. This was supposed to be a birthday treat for my friend and it was a failure. The afternoon tea tasted like it was from the freezer in Iceland, no flavour and stodgy little nibbles and you are allowed only one hot drink each. I thought wartime rations were long over ! The outdoor tubs contained warm water and not hot, considering it was a very cold day and the vitality pool had cold water and there was no one inside it all afternoon. I emailed the Spa Manager (Laura Prigg) the next day about our experience and her response was disappointing. She told me that I should have said something about the food on the day. Then she denied that the outdoor pools were not usable stating that they were within the correct temperature range. To top it off she said that if I would like to return for another visit we would be treated as a VIP guests. When I enquired about this more she said it does not mean that we will be treated to a complimentary visit, but 'we are more than happy to look after you throughout your spa day on return' and offer us a complimentary drink. Considering we both do not consume alcohol this would be a free tea/coffee or a soft drink. Sorry but how can you even call this VIP then and wha kind of remedy is that if we have to book and pay for another spa day to receive a free drink! Carden Park need to try much harder now and in the future considering there are outdoor spas popping up all over the country and they are no longer in a league of their own. They need to do better than this to live up to their award winning name if they are to survive. They are depending on their 'brand' and they are forgetting that to make the brand stick they need to live up to that label/ name and provide the same level of quality and experience that paying customers are expecting at the price they are being charged. The feeling of the place, the reputation, and the promises they are making, well they are definitely not living up to them. As a customer who has been here before and has had a similar experience in the past but thought to give it another try, I will no longer be loyal to them and will just be heading elsewhere with my money. To be told that I had got it all wrong made me feel like I am being told 'you are a liar' then to top it off I am being given a VIP service which is no more than a free coffee. What kind of apology is that and why apologise if I got it wrong, or did they? I have already booked our next spa visit at Hoar Cross Hall and for the same price I am receiving a full spa day with a 3 course meal and treatment, and the outdoor spas and facilities are much larger. I suggest you all do the same !!!

Reet let me tell ya this hotel was proper lush like. Me and me gadgie went for a cheeky getaway and was mint, staff were proper sound ya kna, soon as we got there they hoyed our bags in the gaff and even got some welcome chocolates, the works. Felt like a proper baller me. Room was lush bed was comfy as owt but was canny short though, our gadgies not the tallest and his dogs were hanging off the end a bit like. Still didn’t stop es having the best kip ever! Telly was bigger than me wall in the gaff back home and bathroom even had those posh soaps they smelled well lush, even pocketed a couple but that’s between us aye? And ere get this they even gave es free toothbrushes, dead eco-friendly and made of wood n tha, but honest was like moying on a tree no joke, but it’s the thought that counts ey. Brekkie in the mornin? Belter. Proper portions n tha weren’t skimping on nowt, buzzing with the free coffees and was pure radge fruit flying about, posh as owt! Spa was lush too felt like I was in beefa. Absolute ten outta ten nee bother get yourself booked in anorl.

Went there with my mum and my sister for her birthday for the afternoon tea. Staff were lovely, professional, and knowledgable, and the location is lovely. However, the raspberrys were mouldy. My mum tried to contact them via multiple channels only to be ignored. Won't be going again, shame because it is a lovely place.

Having recently visited as part of our corporate event all I can say is that it was exceptional from beginning to end. Every member of staff went above and beyond whilst also taking every opportunity to ensure that our client's could simply relax and enjoy every moment. The setting, views and atmosphere were perfect and enjoyed by all. It really was the best location to showcase the JLR Brand on behalf of JLR Chester. Our evening went on to include a private dining experience in "The Vines Restaurant" where both ourselves and our client's enjoyed some exceptional food which was prepared by former Royal Chef Graham Tinsley MBE and his exceptionally talented team. All in all, a fantastic event in a stunning location. Once again, a huge Thank You to the whole team as well as a "Special" Thanks to Julian who was absolutely amazing.

Amazing place! Set in a massive plot with a large golf course. When you arrive at the entrance, be warned that there is another 5 minutes of driving to do. I was there for a business meeting that couldn't have gone more smoothly.

It was pleasant stay. The scenery are lovely .

Me and some friends stayed for 2 nights and played three rounds of golf. The rooms we had were great we fantastic beds, lovely clean showers and Soft linen. We played all 3 round ds on the Cheshire course as the Nicolas was shut due to the weather and time of year!! The course was in fantastic condition with the greens running fast and true, and each round was 4 1/2 hours, so not too bad, fantastic staff, all the staff in the whole resort were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We did have a problem with a dessert, but all was sorted with no fuss at all. Great job!! The pool was clean and warm with the same in the sauna and jacuzzi. Great place for not only golf with one of the best spa facilities in the country. Please check it out !

Beautiful place with lovely rooms and lots of activities to do. Great restaurants and if you want a nice spa day or play golf or do something a bit more challenging come to this place. Service is really good, friendly and helpful. Bar area is great to with lovely meeting rooms. Definitely recommend, if you drive you have a parking space, if not you can catch an Uber from train station.

Great staff. Limited dinner menu but excellent food. Usual self serve buffet breakfast. Plenty of food still available close to cut off 10.00 am.

2 night stay, redmonds service isn't just slow it's terrible made mistakes with majority of tables and they have the cheek to automatically add service charge, breakfast is fantastic but that's self service so not alot can go wrong I definitely won't be rushing back. Rowdy groups of lads shouting down the corridors until the early hours was far from relaxing on our honeymoon.

Fantastic place. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. Food was very good indeed.

A superb venue , very stylish and airy. Our meal of three courses was excellent, perfectly cooked and presented. The staff were friendly, but we felt under constant pressure to eat quickly and leave. We felt there was no time to relax between courses, and we were asked eachh time if our food was OK barely two mouthfuls in. After dessert, coffee was not mentioned. Our booking was at 7.30pm, so not late. We will not be coming again

We have just visited the Carden Park Hotel and Spa. We had our meal in the brasserie restaurant. My wife has dietary requirements & they accommodated these needs very well & nothing was too much trouble . Big thank you to Cornelia & Matilda for all your help to make our evening an excellent experience with the amazing food.

Organised with Jack Darrington 24 golfers for 14 /15 th July and had an amazing time start to finish. Jack D was a star in keeping in touch from start to finish and answered all my messages promptly and efficiently, even bringing our evening meal forward a few hours as requested. Food and service was second to none the golf course was as close to mint as possible . Carden Park did us proud.

Just returned from our stay here and would definitely come back again. The main thing that stood out to me was the service , there wasn't one staff member who didn't go above and beyond . All we're so professional and friendly . We just went for a lead in room but was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the fact it has a balcony. We were impressed with the hotels main pool and will be looking at booking the spa when we return. We booked Redmond's Brasserie and had a fantastic waiter , we both ordered steaks which were delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The location is very beautiful. There are so many activities to do. One to one quad biking for children age 8 years and above. Very good staff member.

A group of us stayed in the hotel and played the two courses at the location. The hotel and it's rooms / outbuildings we'rell finished to a high standard. The beds were very comfy and the evening meal as well as breakfast were great. The staff were welcoming, it was nice to have staff wish us a good morning when we passed in corridors etc. Both courses were great, most of us preferred the Cheshire Course. A lot of holes on that course were picturesque coming with their own quirks. Both courses were neat and tidy & the bunkers were in very good condition.

Very nice property with two beautiful golf courses. It's a shame that hotel guests don't have any discounts in the new, large spa. No bathrobes or slippers in the room. Very good breakfast.

Avoid afternoon tea We visited goldies lounge for afternoon tea and the lack of customers/atmosphere was not a good sign. Opted for the £40 sparkling afternoon tea option. Sandwiches and scones were nice but cakes clearly not homemade and of poor quality, no patisserie skills and mostly cream or dry cake. Asked for more sandwiches as is usual and expected for £40 and told we had to pay for another afternoon tea to get more. Very poor and will not return. Complaints raised with staff at the time

We came as a couple for my birthday and the whole experience was worth every penny! The setting is stunning with lovely grounds for gentle strolls. If the sun comes out then it's a real bonus. The room was a great size, plenty of pillows, comfortable bed, and impeccably clean bathroom. Little fridge in room was v handy for snacks and drinks. Brilliant breakfast - plenty of choice and replenished regularly. Lovely to enjoy it by the window with the view. We only booked the Leisure Club facilities but this was plenty for a swim / sauna etc. There are specific adult-only areas and times so definitely check with the team. Loads of towels, lockers, mirrors, products and the whole area was clean and nicely maintained. We ate at Redmonds - lots of options, generous portions, good wine list and a fun atmosphere. The staff across the whole estate are kind, well-mannered, attentive, helpful and so considerate. Every single person made us feel so welcome and special. Relaxed atmosphere with a real happy buzz about the place.

Spa experience was good but the evening session is shorter coz of dinner. You loose 1 hour of spa during dinner. Otherwise package is good but pricey considering there are no massages included.

Nice hotel with many relaxing facilities. PGA golf. Park with sculpture garden and vineyard. The food is good. Waiting staff could do with more smiles. The entire hotel was far too hot, so the air conditioning in the room always had to be on. This did not cause any noise, by the way.

Beautiful spa experience but very disappointing afternoon tea. Lack of tea options, no variation of cakes and dry and boring sandwiches. A real let down to the end of a lovely day!

I cannot emphasise enough how lovely the staff were, how professional they were, how the dining experience at the vines restaurant was - from the presentation of the food, the texture and the taste….it was immaculate! Their spa experience was excellent and I will definitely go again and again. Worth every penny! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I just want to thank the staff here from the bottom of my heart. I purchased the Chester zoo package which included an overnight stay. The hotel was Incredible, but I want to particulay emphasize the excellence of the staff, because for me they truly made our short stay wonderful. They were kind, attentive, professional, fun to speak to about our day, just so nice. We don't usually stay in places this up market admittedly, so we were people watching a little when going about our evening. Your staff interact with rude guests so well. I couldn't really understand why the guests were so mad and maybe have formed some of my own stereotypes because of it. When we arrived, we were upgraded to an estate view, thank you so much. We had dinner in the Redmond's, incredible, loved speaking to the staff and their recommendations as well. Service was faultless. Then I proposed in the very big gardens! She said yes. We returned and of course had some room service because why not? Next morning, we had a breakfast buffet, what a treat. You can tell the difference between a Toby's breakfast and here. After, we spent some time in the leisure club. It was probably the cleanest pool we've ever been in. The leisure club was also incredible, so we might have to pop back and see what the spa is like! After we checked out and went about our day. Thank you again for the lovely stay, it was perfect and so nice, and thank you to your staff.

I went for spa day in the afternoon. The layout of the spa was great. Sue was amazing and very helpful. All the other staff was very professional. Special thanks to Elements for the delish afternoon tea and strong tea as well as requested. Must try-outdoors was pods, herbal sauna and outdoor pool. Indoors must try-aroma aqua sauna, trapezium and Finnish sauna. I thoroughly enjoyed my spa afternoon at Carden. Calm, relaxed and chilled. Much needed during colder months. So lucky we had sunshine all day. I would definitely be back and highly recommend with friends ✌🏽✨️

We attended for a late christmas present! Fine dining and spa stay! Absolutely amazing spa afternoon, gorgeous facilities and superb treatment! We had booked the Vines Fine Dining tasting menu and chose to add on the wine flight. The food was exquisite and allowed me to explore dishes from would never have picked from a menu…. I was not disappointed the food was delicious Special thanks to Julian who took to the time to make our evening so special, explaining the wine choice, the origin of the wine and why it had been paired with the dish… nothing was too much trouble! Overall an amazing experience. Only one criticism would be the sizing of the spa ropes for quests of a larger stature like myself (however to be fair I did not ask if there was an alternative) Highly recommended and will defo be returning!!

The most amazing spa stay we have ever had (we do a lot of them) you will not be disappointed coming here believe me!! The actual spa is something else! Redmonds restaurant inside is very reasonably priced and the food is amazing! So fresh and tasty, compliments to the chef! A lovely young lady called Elysha checked us in, could not do enough for us, so friendly and professional (as where all of the staff here) Lucy (waited on us at redmonds restaurant) was such a lovely young lady, a pleasure and a credit to the restaurant, and Matthew at goldies bar made us the most unreal cocktails and was a lovely young man! Will 100% be coming back here!

Top notch spa experience with afternoon tea

Me and my girlfriend have just been for 2 nights and celebrated new years there, everything from start to finish was perfect!

We got to Carden about 3pm . Lovely and helpful staff at the reception. I asked loads of questions (and they were patient with me) as it was a last minute decision and I had no time to look through activities beforehand. After getting a little hang of possible activities, decided to spend the evening at the pool side. Nice and intimate . Wish the heat experience w as open to ‘older’ kids. The steam, sauna , hot tub were restricted to adults only. The next morning after a nice breakfast we went over to Pursuits which is the activity center. The staff there were so warm and welcoming, 5 stars for that! We got the Segway experience for about an hour including briefing and ‘training’, which we received in a smaller area before setting out on the hotel grounds. Our instructor was patient and great 👍🏾 . It was our first time and we had fun. Unfortunately one of the duo had a minor fall but he was cared for so well by the staff. We had a little break then off to the Vertigo which is a two level, high ropes course which was stated to take 2 hours for the experience! The duo eventually refused to go on lol, I didn’t blame them at the end, any child would think twice. I think there should be a more realistic age limit (it’s currently set at 6, my kids just turned 11😅) or a promise of a part refund 😅. Because they didn’t get on, rest of us experienced just one level and did the zip line just so we could all leave. The pillow drop which I choose was sadly out of commission for the day. The upper level looked much cooler and harder to navigate than the first level. We weren’t able to do all the activities we wanted like quad biking for the kids or archery etc for all of us because we didn’t book on time/weather for some. Carden has packages like Golf experience, spa experience , there is also a playground, sculpture garden etc . Be sure to explore the website ahead of time and make your bookings online or via call. Overall a lovely, lovely experience despite the rain. We stayed overnight. Would Great for family hangouts/picnics and team building fun. Would love to return when it’s warmer for sure.

Absolutely loved our experience there. The view was stunning and location was gorgeous. The staff shouldn't have been more accommodating and polite. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the room was the amount of noise it let in. Several times we were woken up throughout the night by noisy guests, so perhaps noise insulation could've been better. Otherwise, our stay was excellent. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be going back

The rooms are little outdated, however the estate itself is brilliant. Great scenery in and around and they also cater halal options.

Travelled here for business and it was a beautiful place with spacious rooms, great conference facilities and also the food catered for all dietary requirements without having to ask. I travel a lot for work and it's very rare I am impressed with a place, but this honeslty had it all and worth a visit or business trip

Great evening, good was excellent

We arrived at lunch time check in was smooth and the reception staff were professional friendly,and informative. Lunch was adequate, but the staff need an up date on service, plenty of staff but lack of training means they weren't cleaning the tables several customers actually cleaned their own table. Lunch of stale ciabatta bre ad, wasn't very appealing The hotel was very comfortable, excellent decor, in public rooms also the bedroom where tastefully decorated. The spa was an added bonus this alone made the trip . Well staffed,by informative staff a most enjoyable weekend.

Lovely relaxing place to stay with super friendly and helpful staff.

Rooms are basic, aging and need a good clean. Bed was uncomfortable and the radiator, which was turned off, was loud meaning a poor night's sleep. Bar in shooting Lodge had very slow service, not at all the fault of the staff that were trying their hardest. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were overall very good. Has so much potential but falls short. Unless there for the golf or spa, I'd say you'd be better staying at somewhere like the Premier Inn in Chester itself

Lovely venue just can not justify some of their prices. Booked a spa day but was constantly having to pay little extras here and there for the day.

Beautiful hotel. Immaculate facilities. Unbelievable grounds. Delay on tea/coffee offering at breakfast if you don't want machine coffee, but that was the only 'issue'!

Looks a little dated in the main area. Sat there for half an hour whilst the bar staff were busy laughing and joking with themselves. Not a great service.

Stayed here for conference location was lovely if you like being miles away from civilisation but it was pretty. food in restaurant expensive but lovely. food provided for the conference meals was very poor but that was probably the fault of my company rather than hotel.

Not quite a 5 star, but more than a 4. The hotel and grounds are lovely and are in a great place to explore Cheshire, Chester, Wales and Shropshire. The leisure centre within the hotel has enough facilities to make the extra spend for the spa pointless (unless treatments are a must), swimming pool, hydro pool, steam room, sauna and tepidarium beds. The staff in the leisure centre are very friendly and are more than happy to whip you up a cocktail by the pool from the extensive menu! 😉 Reception staff are great and willing to help you out with anything. I think we stayed in room 432 Montreux which is in one of the outbuildings with a balcony view over the new spa building, the room itself was large and comfortable, however it could do with a bit of refurbishment as it was starting to look a little tired. It looked like this was happening in the other buildings, so sure it will happen soon. We ate in Redmonds Brasserie on the first night, and although there were elements of the meal that were amazing (the dessert), I wasn't overly enamoured with main meal. I had the steak burger and was told I could only have it well done which inevitably made it very dry, my wife had the chicken was apparently nice. The bar area near reception was lovely, with roaring fires to sit next to and soak up the atmosphere and ambience. Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat. Would we eat in the Brasserie again? Probably not. We only used it as a base, but there are loads of things to do on the grounds, Golf on 2 Championship courses, archery, climbing walls, Segway adventures, shooting and a high rope assault course.

Worst stay of my whole life! Management team are absolutely appalling. The grounds are spectacular and the hotel has high potential but was completely let down by the service/ rooms & food. Hotel should not be advertised as luxury - it’s dirty and basic! Our bedding was ripped and carpets/ sofa had stains all over them. Cobwebs & spiders everywhere. Food is nothing short of canteen style so if you’re looking for a plush staycation… save your money, time and hopes for somewhere else. I’d have rather stayed in a backpackers! Hotel needs a complete refresh so if you’re visiting the spa… do NOT book to stay over! Tried to express our disappointment with the staff but they were not interested, was an extremely stressful day … not to mention I am pregnant & it was my birthday. I ended up crying and pleading to the manager to refund us and he refused, admitting he had the ability to do so but simply didn’t want to! AWFUL HOTEL, please do not go!!!

We are coming to Carden Park every year, and it's an amazing relaxing experience. Carden Park Spa is one of the best I have ever been to.

Great golf trip. Hotel is superb. Service, food, pool/sauna/steam room all top notch. Golf course was very wet but playable, which is a huge credit to the golf team. A great time had by my party. Will be back!

Visited for my daughter's wedding. Fabulous location. Staff were incredible, Service was top notch and the food fabulous. The additional sports and spa facilities are excellent.

All spa packages come with a meal and despite staying at the hotel, spa access is neither included with treatments nor available to be purchased separately. When already visiting for a lunchtime conference this is extremely unhelpful and wasteful.

Excellent services, room was clean and beautiful with a balcony over looking the garden. Five star🌟 fine dinning what else? Regret not booking the spa. All round fantastic experience worth every penny. Will do again 👍

Took my better half for a spa day for her birthday, while it's not the cheapest option out there, you certainly feel like you're getting what you paid for, nothing is too much trouble, the whole place is geared for relaxation and the treatments were great. We'll be back.

Me, my husband and young son dined here over the Christmas period and had a lovely and relaxed experience. It was fancy enough to make an effort with dress but relaxed enough to feel family friendly. My son thought the service was exceptional and even got upset that he couldn’t finish his dinner, incase he upset someone haha. Will return.

The food at the Redmonds restaurant was divine. It was honestly the tastiest meal I've ever had! Every member of staff we encountered was so helpful and friendly, we genuinely felt very welcomed here. The spa day was incredible, the spa garden was so much fun and the drinks service straight to the hot tub was a nice touch! Inside, the spa facilities were luxurious and the ice water fountain was cool, haven't seen anything quite like this before. Overall, an amazing stay.

The restaurant was part of our golf package so we had an allowance each night which would have covered 2 courses easily. There were plenty of options even for my husband and he is a fussy/selective eater. The food was gorgeous and the staff excellent.

We had a business conference at this wonderful venue and what a terrific setting. Alongside the superb rooms, food and staff we took advantage of some of the activities as well. These were superb team builders delivered by experts and in a fun way. It was also not as expensive as you think looking at the venue so we'll worth an enquiry.

Fantastic stay with two very good golf courses, good spa and dining facilities, but best of all GENUINELY NICE AND COMPETENT STAFF. People at clubhouse nice and chatty, but got myself in a tough position needing some printing from a mac-based application and the girls at reception (Carys and Dani - apologies if spelling bad!) got everything sorted and then delivered to me during dinner. Honestly can’t remember service like it (would have been a hassle for them to sort and easy to just say no). 10/10 guys would recommend for all types of trips (I was a golf trip and best facilities we’ve been too)

Spa experience is lovely. Food very disappointing, especially for the price, expect alot better!

Beautiful location. We had breakfast, lunch and a spa treatment all of which were very good. We enjoyed using the outside area and saunas inside too. Would recommend.

Amazing Spa Day, We spent the afternoon here for a Spa day just using the facilities. Great choice of jacuzzi's sauna's steam rooms with the option of both the indoor and outdoor pool! Loved the fact there was a bar area where you could get drinks throughout the day. Ruth was great and gave us a good overview of the facilities whilst serving us lunch before we headed down to the Spa area. Will definitely be back!

Excellent food, friendly and professional staff

The garden spa on a mild day is lovely

Nice rooms and spa. The garden spa was our favourite, was lovely in the sun. Some of the staff in the spa were unhelpful e.g when we received the wrong food at afternoon tea, not being able to operate the lockers with the magnetic bracelet etc.

Using some vouchers from gifts we opted for the spa and dine package. Relaxing massage was good and all staff and facilities there were excellent. We upgraded to the taster menu in the Vines restaurant. I want to mention all the staff in there by name, because they were all friendly, professional, personable and knowledgeable. Valerie, Abi, Rhian and Lucy. It was fairly busy, but between the 4 of them, service was excellent and courses were time managed well. Food was good and wine flight went well. It was pricey, but I couldn't fault the service or food served. Our room was a little basic for the price. A couple of niggles such as usb points on lights not working, and door handles loose. Breakfast was buffet and decent enough. Again though, the staff were excellent in there, as were the reception desk staff. All in all, a lovely, if quite expensive stay. (We chose to do the extras so fully accepting of cost)

Just a lovely place the views are to die for

Fantastic hotel and great facilities. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Hotel reception staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely brekfeast 😊
