Green Oak Farm in Cheshire West and Chester

Haven’t been here in a while, but visited Sunday with my sister. Things have most certainly improved, staff were great. Mike was a lovely host and a good laugh.

3 of us went for a carvery lunch for my friends birthday. The whole experience was great from being greeted at the door, seating and of course the carvery - it was lovely. Well worth a visit will definitely come again.

Adam was helpfull on arrival and through out visit, and Steven on the carvery was super helpfull and generally a helpfull guy,great atmosphere throughout,

Last minute decision to come for food and this is our local carvery we come to all the time, Adam on the carvery made sure we had fresh yorkies and topped up the veg all whilst being super friendly even though it's late on in the day and nothing was too much trouble, Even offered us the burnt ends on the beef! Steven went off to hunt and managed to dig out some cookies and cream cheesecake that we didn't think was available anymore 😍 very happy to spend money here with these guys and this will stay our regular place. We usually love to come for the breakfast 🍳

Find a clean glass - I dare you

I had the vegetarian, every day, carvery. Veggie sausages were cooked to order and looked unappetising, they were a bit tasteless too. There was also the option of cauliflower tart. With 3 roast meat options for meat eaters it would be nice to see something a little different for veggies. The place itself and service were good. Next time I'll try something else.

Visited for breakfast with friends. I would say get in there early ad the food was rather dry as it had been our for a while. Was a god selection of food for the price and we was able to have a lovely breakfast.

The food is good and the portions are huge. Maybe consider implementing a smaller portion option? I could barely make it to dessert. You must have a lot of food waste.

Good food at a reasonable price. Carvery was very filling. Not sure you would need the Large as Standard portion is enough for most

Had carvery loved the board, to say which food was high in points, so I had a slimming world food and it was delicious 😋

We ordered an amazing Sunday roast that came with all the trimmings. I chose gammon. Mine was a kids portion and still huge, with potatoes done three ways (roasted, boiled and mashed) cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, sprouts, my partner's roast parsnips as he's not a fan of them, a huge and crispy Yorkshire pudding, and stuffing. Absolutely delicious, prepared quickly and definitely plenty for your money. We'll order it again.

Great place for family dining out and kids all ages. Polite and knowledgeable staff, amazing food.

We went for the carvery. Great food for the price, huge serving of meat but it would be nice to see more greens as they only had sprouts on which where okay but had been on the hot plate too long. I'm wondering if part of the reason for this is because people from the E.port don't like greens so they don't bother putting them on to avoid waste ? Also, we were standing at the "wait here" podium for far too long. An employee in a shirt walked past us a few times and didn't even pay any notice. Eventually a chef was very polite and told us to go over to the left and find a seat. No information on how the carvery works, I think they assume that everybody is a regular and knows the score so I use my initiative and just paid on the app only to queue for 5 minutes to told by the chef that we needed tickets and would have to go the till anyway to get our meal tokens. I then wait at the till to find out that the tickets had been delivered to our table with our drinks which was probably quick but it would have been nice for someone to tell us and be greeted to avoid the run around. I just want to make a note that my complaint is about the higher management (not the staff on site as they're blatantly understaffed) all the staff in there were working very hard. It's obviously a lack of direction from those in the higher positions. This is just some positive feedback and all in all I was pretty impressed with the quality of food for the low price and the front of house chefs were great.

I always come here either with friends or with the kids they have a good playing area for the kids to play. Carvery’s are amazing and quick service. Would definitely recommend

Came on the 16th March 3.30 pm ,set a tab up and we all had a wonderful meal , we was served buy a wonderful gentleman slim 50s ide say (sorry if wrong) top guy lovely customer service. All round good experiance. kids ares is a nice touch more for younger kids say below 7

What a lovely experience on our first visit to Greenoak, a very warm welcome from Mike , he made us so welcome and had great banter, just what you want from the Management. We ordered food which arrived quickly and was to an exceptional standard. Lovely atmosphere and we were made to feel welcome. Visited with family of 3 generations and had a great time. We don't live far so will make this our new local. Thank you Mike for making our first experience so memorable. Annette Swift x

Just been to the Green oak for food and a few drinks with a friend. The staff on tonight Michael and Steven were lovely, nice friendly bubbly atmosphere. Food was lovely and arrived sp quickly, the pric was very reasonable and lots to choose from on the menu. I will definitely be back 5☆ all around

It's a cheap and cheerful carvery. You get what you pay for.

Come regularly as live on estate across road. Steve and all the staff members are always friendly and polite and serve you in timely manner. Food always been decent standard when eat there. Nice atmosphere when your in there 👍

Came for a Sunday carvery and everything was cooked perfectly. Good value too

Absolutely appalled by the food today. I paid £13 for a ultimate chicken combo, when it arrived I can get more food for less price from McDonald's. The wings where so small the look like that came from a chick and so did the chicken breast. Not worth the money for the food you get.

The carvery was the best I have had in a long time if not ever. Hot tasty and plentiful. We booked but we were no better off than non-bookers who came in behind us. Had to wait to get our table then the queue to order food was 20 deep. No queue whatsoever for the carvery, there must be a better system than that. Other than that excellent.

Brilliant, Food was delicious, even the sprouts. Desserts OMG! 🤯 You could feed a family with one serving! Well worth the money. Staff really pleasant and helpful. Mike is so welcoming, makes you feel special. Staff really pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend. Going to give quiz night a go on Monday night. Starts about 7 pm.

Called in for an early dinner before going out. Pub was quite busy so we decided to order on the app. My partner had the beanburger which was sadly overcooked and very crispy! I had the mixed grill which was fine. We decided to have a dessert as we were still quite hungry. We selected the Giant eclair and the chocolate fudge cake. Wow! They are absolutely huge and really tasty. Actually struggled to finish them! Just a side note to say the member of staff who brought our food out was lovely. Extremely helpful and polite :)

Not a all u can eat buffet !!!!! After regular visits! Today things have changed !! Dry end of the day served Turky! was told our 2 thin half slices of meat was now all u are allowed as the cheffs have been retrained to give smaller portions. When returning for more potato for my boys they were told that it wasn't allowed !: Veg was cold gravy pots were empty dry lumps at the bottom . Spoke to the manager who said she could not do anything about it as that's what they have now been told to do . Won't be returning soon !!!

I ordered from this carvery a few weeks ago, and it was enjoyed so much, that I made an order today. I ordered 3 kids carveries, and I was really disappointed with this order. One meal contained 15 parsnips and loads of carrots, one meal had 4 parsnips, but overloaded with broccoli, and one meal had no potato, but all the meals had beef and turkey, which was overcooked and dried up, and wasn't really edible, even soaked in the gravy.

Visited around 4pm Saturday, ordered food via the app. Halloumi fries were overcooked and dry. Our drinks didn't arrive until after the starter had been finished. A lovely lady brought our meals and drinks over to us, and apologised for the long wait which was due to a lack of staff. Our mains arrived, my bean burger was practically burnt and so dried out it crumbled, could hardly get the knife through it. I don't like complaining and didn't want to send it back as we were heading to Wrexham for a show, so didn't have time. I made the most of it but it was probably the worst burger I have ever eaten. The only redeeming aspect of the experience was the lovely server who was very attentive. Will not be returning and won't be recommending the place to anybody else.

Ok , so since changing company the food at breakfast has gone down hill rapidly, gave it a second chance today I can honestly say I will not be returning again.

Green oaks is nice pud to eat in the food is similar to hungry horses. Food was good a d staff were ok 👍

Very helpful, got me a table at short notice. Generous with the meat at the carvery. Great value for money. Thats why it is busy.

A lovely place to go to for a meal. There is plenty of choices to choose from the menu. The staff are so nice and friendly and there is plenty of car parking available.

food is brilliant all you can eat breakfast staff need to be bit more helpful 5 people stood waiting to give tickets in for plates there was 3 staff members stood chatting while we were waiting then left 1 lady filling up breakfast food by her self had to ask for bread apart from that it's good

Very poor standard of service carvery dry and hard, meat if you are lucky to get any always none left and if you book in advance a table they always say you are not booked in though you have booked in advance tried repeatedly this place as it's local but after last night no more it's a miss from now on .

Just been tonight for a family meal and the service and food was absolutely fantastic would highly recommend 👌

Good food & prices. Slightly let down as soap dispensers in men's toilets not working at the beginning of my meal, I let staff know and when I went again at the end of the meal they both were still were not working. Children's play area looking a little tired. Staff very friendly.

We always come here for breakfast when visiting family. The customer service is great, really friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was lovely, as always. High quality food and for £7.49 you can eat as much as you want! We will be back

Another nice chilled afternoon here. Always made to feel welcome by staff members. Steven, Jen and Michael were on today and they were pleasant, polite and helpful, as they always are.

Must have been a team member or two down that night. Service was slow and sparse to the extent we put all our plates from our 4 tables onto the next after that party had left. I wanted rump but was told there was none (at 6:00pm) so I had to upgrade to sirloin at my expense. And that (med to well) sirloin was tough and chewy. Rest of the plate was ok 👍 Visiting from Australia and was the second time there this month. Very disappointing 😞 on this occasion

Lovely staff and place but wow so stingy with the meat. I may only be tiny but one slice of turkey! We will not be eating there again, one piece is ridiculous.

The food was alright but the service was by far one of the best as Michael, was really friendly and helped with anything we needed. His charisma is unmatched and highly suggest coming.

Terrible service no one to greet you 2 staff behind the bar waited ages for food when we asked were it was its just being cooked was the answer ,30 seconds later we get food cold unappealing presentation terrible (obviouslybeen sat on the side).Manager apologised got some free deserts which was nice of him.Afraid will not be going back!

Michael (the manager?) was very welcoming and gave friendly service. The food was good value for money. Only slight downside is queue but that’s expected if you go on a Sunday - wasn’t necessary to book a table but would recommend for slightly bigger groups

From the start of our visit- to the very end- Kirsty was extremely warm and welcoming. Food was excellent, very tasty and enjoyed by all 😊 Would highly recommend to my friends and family. Thanks again Kirsty - for an enjoyable meal and great atmosphere. (And for the empty tub- for our travel sick child on our continued journey to the ice cream farm. It was very much appreciated ❤️)

3/5 for breakfast, it's nice to choose your own and have as much as you want but the food quality could be better. For the same money the breakfast at Chocks Away in Broughton is far better and freshly cooked.

We are regular customers for breakfast. There is always plenty on offer, but it's the staff that stand out for me, always welcoming and friendly and really helpful. That's why we keep coming back.

Horrendous. Waited 15 minutes for someone to cut the meat and then another 30 minutes for gravy, which came out like pudding. Don't waste your money.

Yorkshire puddings 5 days old ,cold rock hard , turkey still pink so un edible ,beef cold and very tough ,malibu and coke flat , person behind carvery with dirty rag , no clean cutlery , knives still had food stains on them , Obviously landlord is struggling financially so purchased cheap basic food from Booker and forgot to order any gas canni as ters , ie so gave food zero stars as made us both sick , Staff have no basic food handling training

Pleasant welcome to begin with and told we had the table for 2 hours. Once seated we received our starters, we were slightly dissapointed as the soup looked like it had come out of a tin. We were asked how our food was which okay. We then had our main carvery Christmas dinner. Again we were asked how our food was whilst a mouth half full yet again! As soon as we finished our main, we were asked if we would like dessert. We replied we would like 5 minutes to let our food settle. No more than a minute later another waiter asked if he could please serve our dessert, again we replied no we would like five minutes. 30 seconda later for a third time we were then asked to either box up our dessert to take home or take the dessert now as another customer was waiting for our table. We hadn't even been at the table for 45minutes! After a discussion which became heated we reluctantly accepted our dessert just to be away from the restaurant. We barely finished our dessert as we were absolutely stuffed. Overall not an enjoyable experience we will not be spending Christmas dinner at the venue again!
