We called here for some dinner, we got there about 5pm, there was a lovely lad serving behind the bar I wasn’t very well at first he brought our pint of madri and latte coffee to our table a really nice lad he was, the boss of the place was nice too, I had a calvery which was all cold but the gravy was warm so warmed my meat and veg up, my partner had a southern fried chicken bun and chips well all 8 of his chips that is all he got 8 frozen chips it would of been nice to get a decent portion of chips as there so cheap anyway especially frozen ones, I went back to the bar to ask for more chips for him as the meal would no way fill my partner, so the boss brought another 8 chips yes another 8 he was still hungry after his extra 8 chips. We had a 1 month old baby with us our granddaughter who needed a bottle making up I had everything apart from some boiling water I even had a jug so I called one of the young female waitresses over there was 2 on duty, the one who came was the dark haired one with dm boots on with white socks over the top of them she did not smile at all so I asked her for some boiling water to make our baby’s bottle she took the jug away then came straight back and said no I could not have any I said I beg your pardon I need some for the baby she said my work colleague has said no I asked her who had said no her reply was just leave it just leave it waving her hands at me I was fuming, she was so so rude I could not believe the way she spoke too me what a horrible rude ignorant girl she was I got up and went to the bar to the boss and asked him he said yes no problem at all I will bring it to your table I cannot understand why she said no to me when clearly it was not a problem for the boss to bring me some we will not be returning to this place years ago you could not get a table but yesterday it was dead especially on a Saturday and Easter weekend too, no wonder with staff like her and rubbish food. Save ya money and go and get fish n chips from Redcar sea front

I found that the restaurant has a good range of food at reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful. The soup is always very tasty, they have make your own or pre made salads that are good value. The hot food caters mainly for the local area with things like parmo's, fish and chip shawarma's and the like available on different days. the restaurant seating area is well presented and very modern if not a little cold on some days

What a place. We were greeted warmly at the bar and taken to our table. The dining room was simple with lots of rustic charm, and the menu had enough choice for both of us. The garlic cream mushrooms were extremely good and it was just the right amount for me. My wife had the gammon steak with egg and chips, and she said the chips were the best she had ever had. I had the Veggie parmesan which was more than enough and the salad was beautiful and the dressing was lovely. We were offered dessert but had to say no as we were so full from dinner! However the desserts are all homemade and looked lovely. What really struck us about this place was how nice the staff were, nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend the Water Wheel, and will definitely be back!

After shopping in M & S Food felt the need for a pitstop. Wasn’t impressed by the range of food but ordered a flat white and panini. The coffee was fine but can’t understand why saucers seemed to have disappeared from M & S Cafes. It must be easier and cheaper to wipe tables than wash saucers. Enjoyed the panini and the staff were friendly and helpful.
