McDonald's in Redcar and Cleveland

THIS IS A FANTASTIC McDONALD'S. Food, a good example of what the company can do. Exceptionally clean, quick service and staff more that helpful, especially the guy with the Ghostbuster car who went out of his way to see that our experience could be as good as it could be.

Called in to eat in last night. The burger was good, but why do they serve cold chips.?

I was thinking of giving up on eating at Macdonalds after several poor experiences at other venues lately. Skelton has restored my faith. Food hot and freshly cooked and my regular hot chocolate was back to the delicious creamy chocolatey drink I thought had been forever substituted for the watery brown slop I’d been served at other macdonalds. Great clean venue too. Thank you!

Always half of resturant is closed. Not as clean as other mcdonalds. Staff are friendly enough but always better at drive through

Probably the worst service I’ve ever had in a McDonald’s. 23 MINUTES for a table service for two Big Mac meals and the restaurant was seriously only one-third busy. Grizzly response from the manageress when I queried after 15 mins. Guess where we won’t be coming again.

spent £20 here today, not only do they get the order wrong delivering it, but then expect u to drive to mcdonald’s to get what yr missing, does this not defeat the point of delivery?? Especially when u cannot drive and trying to get a refund is an absolute joke all because people can’t look at an order and put the correct food in a bag !

I like McDonalds. When the staff get it right, it's a good place for breakfast, not flashy, just reasonably decent food at a competitive price. I emphasise the bit about getting it right because if you order anything that requires an amendment, I'm always on tenterhooks until it arrives. In the past two weeks, I've visited three different McD's and ordered the same breakfast for my wife and I. Two establishments got things wrong, but good old Skelton delivered exactly as ordered. I'm writing this review (based on last weeks visits) as I'm awaiting my breakfast in the Skelton branch. Guess what, yes that's right. My order arrived wrong. I HATE MCDONALDS AND EVERYONE WHO WORKS THERE! Weeeeellll, I've been back to my beloved Skelton branch and my order was perfect. ALL IS FORGIVEN.

This is by far the worst McDonald’s in the north east, chips are always shocking literally not even cooked properly at all. Also always half a box full, burgers always look like someone’s had an arm wrestling match on top of them thrown together again cold, they have no care for the food that goes out to customers and when your paying 20 quid for food for two people you expect it to atleast be edible. I think it comes down to the staff that are working there couldn’t run a bath let alone a McDonald’s just no care for what goes out, if you take anything back they give you attitude like said they just don’t care Avoid this place

this is an amazing place would highly recommend and the food is very nice food and it is good for cost because it is quite cheap

The food here is quickly served but the flavor of the chips is inconsistent and often they may be flavorless of mildly cold. The environment is clean and nice. The customer service is nice

There are dotted around the country some Maccies that are a cut above, this is one, polite staff, fast service and clean and tidy. Lack of Deliveroo peasants certainly helps.

Seen one, seen them all. Table not cleaned, waited 25 minutes for meal. But as in most, staff so polite and helpful. Many thanks to the young man who went searching for our order.

Got wrong order then got ask I'm I shore it is not my order

My Big Mac yesterday, now I know they’re prone to mistakes & missing items etc… but I’ve never seen anything like this, surely someone was having a laugh?? 😂 you can’t get it that wrong, who put that in a box & thought it was ok!

Nearly all the time food is missing and to get a refund is more of a hassle than its worth won't be back. Hopefully we might get bk or subway soon as they have a monopoly over the people with piss poor service

Can be a bit of a long wait at core meal times and sometimes like anywhere mistakes sometimes can be made, but all the staff are extremely professional and will bend over backwards to ensure you leave the place happy.

Got mcdelivery to local skate park... delivery driver was top notch, thanks Lenin, you're a star 10 out of 10

Very busy when we visited. Food was luke warm and the order was wrong..but soon rectified

Ordered a double quarter pounder, it looked very sad, one slice of pickle and I only just found a piece of onion. None of the sauces I selected were delivered, not the drivers fault, packaging is nicely sealed, so McDonald's being lazy or useless? (This has happened numerous times before). The Apple pie had a discard time of 15:48, my (phone app) order was around 6pm. It is so nice to see they are keeping such high standards at the Skelton McDonald's.

Always get orders wrong and for fast food it’s extremely slow.

Used the drive through twice this week,a missing item in my order both times. Not charged for it first time, charged the second. The food we did get was fine.

Got our order completely wrong and the person who takes your order was very down in the dumps

It is never great experience going here. They always get the order wrong and food is always cold. Very bad service

The service is terrible and the staff are really slow. Better of going to the drive through as they seem to prioritise this aswell as uber/just eat orders.

Servers are really not that friendly, especially if they have got your order wrong

Normally very good. But tonight the chips were not good. Chewy 🤷‍♂️ This must be the cleanest McDonald's I've ever been to.

Nice restraint clean and tidy service a little slow more focused on the delivery orders than the customers in the store Went back to this store on bank holiday afternoon and was so disappointed the place was still clean and tidy but the waiting time was shocking I don’t think it can be known as fast food we ordered our food and waited 23 mins for our order to be completed we will not be coming back to this store again sadly until it improves

Worst McDonald's I've ever been to

Skelton McDonald's has some great staff. The app makes it a lot easier too.

After a long and emotional day and a 4 hour round trip and no food all day I decided to pull into my local McDonald's around 8.45pm I really fancied trying the new steakhouse stack with fried onions and crispy onions rings imagine my disappointment when I bit into eat no fried onion no onion rings just raw red onion and I had to sit and wait in a bay for them to bring it out I would of expected with waiting for it to be right I just looked like slop in a box and tasted the same

Ordered the crispy chicken burger for my son paid extra for added cheese ,bacon and ketchup. Had our food order brought to the table. There was no cheese or bacon on his meal so took it back. 5 min later was given the same burger with the cheese and bacon added to the original burger. In the meantime my order was going cold manly my 🍟. Then when I got back to the table their was that much Source been added to the burger we had to use 4 napkins to remove the excess Source as it was just forcing the bacon to just slop out of the bun. It was a mess!!

Sent wrong burger and refused to change it even though I have an allergy to cheese. Tried blaming delivery driver who was lovely. Usually its missing items but now out of pocket and if I didn't look could have led to serious problems, but they understand.....

Only leaving a 1 star only because you can't give half a star as food was shockingly bad Frys tasted like the where made out of cardboard also I orderd a large strawberry milkshake and it was only just over quarter full I would of orderd a small if that was the case. Its not the first time it's happend I've never had this problem with any other McDonald's

Slower than dining in a proper restaurant. Fast food aspect is a joke.

There is always something missing! The ammount of times I've had to drive back to McDonald's after opening my bag is ridiculous! The staff are great at sorting the issue afterwards so I've given another star. The chips are always undercooked, soggy or raw with that raw potato crunch. Milkshakes are never filled to the top always half full and it depends on the mood of the employee if you get ice or not in your drink. Edit. 19.10.22 another order just arrived via delivery, again they forgot a burger so I've had to drive to McDonald's to have it rectified. Why add delivery as an option if you can't deliver what I've paid for?! Edit 20.02.23 asked for a large bigmac, gave us a bigmac with no sauce and added bacon for no reason at all. Drove back to rectify, again, worth the 2 stat review.

All staff were helpful and polite and I have to say this is the cleanest McDonald's I have ever been into. The young man wiping down surfaces etc. never stopped, he deserves a payrise!! 10 out of 10 😁

Think this is the third or fourth Time this has happened do staff not get given allergen training. Burger no cheese get home open my burger has cheese on it waste of a trip

Absolutely terrible this is the second time in 4 days they get the order wrong missed 2 main meals off just had a 12 hour shift and got home and gutted for the kids what a shambles

Called in for breakfast as I didn’t really wNt to wait I. A cafe for food. It seemed they was more interested in getting Uber and food hub out rather that the people in there. Waited 30 mins for food and we still had to ask for it

Would have been a 5 star review,but last 2 times I have come they have mucked up my order,what's is so hard 2 understand about double cheeseburgers with only cheese and ketchup,they don't seem to know difference between onion,gurkins and mustard,same reason why why I stopped going to redcar,improve it or I will stop coming here to and start to go to burger king

Ordered a Big Mac without all the extra toppings, cashier even doubled checked order to make sure and it was correct but when food arrived to the table it was not what I asked for at all, I suffer from autism so it was highly upsetting as i am a very picky eater so I’m not it sure I will be eating here again but I left the 3 stars as the chips were good and Diet Coke was the perfect temperature

Always very efficient, far better than the Mc Donald’s at coulby newham.

I asked for no tomato in my wrap and they put it in anyway not to say milkshake is funny aswell fuming

Good food clean environment, the only thing I'd say is that the orders could maybe come a little quicker as it is sometimes slow but overall amazing

Took 30 mins, missing items. Worst McDonald's we've ever been in. Veggie burger sloppy AF.

We use this place alot and it's our closest one, however they get orders wrong countless times missing items wrong items not listening to instructions added but adding the instructions onto the packages, the food is slopperly put together often lettuce feels soggy and flat like it's been left out for days, when we ordered on the app they left half our order and wouldn't send it out to us because Uber drivers wouldn't redeliver for no extra pay ( not my problem you pay the difference ) if it was only one off mistake it'd not mind but it's several.

Food was piping hot and tasted better than any other McDonald's in the area (don't know how that happens but it's true) and the staff every time I've been have been awesome. Polite, professional and friendly. *EDIT* Despite my previous glowing review, I will not be returning to this particular restaurant. While the majority of the staff are polite and professional, on my most recent visit.... well. Let's just say certain members of staff should be retrained on how to make sure the mic is turned off when they choose to mock customers.

Poor McDonald’s, often forget sauces, breakfast bacon roll might as well have been fat and gristle roll - vile. Must be one of the worst in area

I orderd a meal here and we were waiting for it but when it was close to us the delivery driver called saying he is close but then it got lost and we had to wait another 40 mins for it and it caused us a lot of messing around!?

Considering some rude customers , I was impressed by the good manners of this guy cleaning and serving around , Matty on his badge ,very kind to my friend's little son . Thanks x Unfortunately is not possible to review some dirty customers!! My stars are for him , overall a clean normal Mcdonald:)

Really clean when we visited, waiting time was short & staff were very friendly. We ate breakfast inside and got lunch to take out. Everything was hot and they put extra dips in our bag which was brilliant.

Hot and tasty. Should be easy but too many McDonald’s seem to struggle with this.

We were in North Yorkshire on holiday. We stopped off at McDonalds in Skelton for a burger. It was the worst McDonalds I have ever tasted. We did the drive through. The chips were like biscuits and were cold. The burgers were absolutely disgusting. You need to do some serious shaking up of this particular McDonalds restaurant before you poison someone.

I like this Macdonald's already usually buy coffee, when sitting outside you can see the sea in far distance. The staff are very friendly,clean too always someone clearing up.

Better than most McDonalds. Always check your order if you change anything as there are often mistakes at busy times, just like most fast food places. They regularly put cheese in my autistic sons burger for example which has resulted in a few meltdowns, even when ordered via the app. There seems to regularly be a problem with the McDonald's app failing to load the menu when trying to order for click and collect (Redcar works strangely though). Any problems I have ever had have always been rectified with super fast speed and with a smile by the wonderful Jojo. She is a credit to the company and I look forward to seeing her on shift as I know things will usually be right with my order. I do however agree with some of the other comments as the delivery drivers can be quite rude and always park in the disabled spots or click and collect bays. Not ideal.

Went in specifically for mcflurrys, was charged for them, waited 20 minutes and was then told the machine was broken and I wasn't offered a refund.

Macdonald's is what it is. However, this one never serves anything hot. Management needs to sort that out.

Consistently get orders wrong. Dont put in sauces which have been ordered and delivery drivers are just everywhere. Adequate food, good service.

Sadly this is our local Maccys. It never fails to let us down. Slowest “fast food place” in the UK. Always stingy on the chips and we have had multiple incorrect orders.

Tidy maccies, no queue inside during the day, good outdoor seating although next to drive through was quiet and shaded

Changed review,, the purple haired woman who does the first window on a night is 5* knew messed up the previous order the night before and went out her way to sort it tonight she should be manager in my opinion 5* just because of how friendly she is and actually sorting the job compared to the manager who didn’t have a clue the night before.

Service was a bit slow. We were asked to wait in a bay and 5 other cars behind us left before we got our order. But it was hot and lovely, so all forgiven.

Lovely, clean, quiet and most enjoyable

Certain member of staff, young gentleman here, a pleasure to meet. Really a credit to the company. Lovely bloke. The place is clean and tidy with plenty of seating.

Utter chaos when only slightly busy. They literally cannot cope. I waited 20 minutes just for a black coffee, and then had to remind them. Although that was nothing compared to the poor people having to leave empty handed as they were there during their lunch break and had to get back to work. Fast food it certainly isn't. The delivery drivers park in disabled bays as well. Almost as though there is no management at all. Worth going for entertainment purposes only.

Not usually a McDonald's person however, I've been wanting to give the McSpicy a try.....Im glad I did as I was pleasantly surprised, enjoyed it, lovely soft bun, loads of mayo and lettuce and the McSpicy lived up to what it said it would be...it was indeed spicy, not too much though just the right amount, the skinny chips were yummy too.

If I didn't have to give this place a star, it wouldn't get any. The service would have been laughable if it wasn't so bad. Staff were stood around behind the counter chatting, ignoring the customers who were waiting. The floor, seats and tables were all dirty, but nobody bothered to clean anything. I only wanted an ice cream, but gave up after waiting for 5 minutes. McDonald's really needs to improve its customer care training.

All special. ordered a BBQ big tasty with no lettuce for first to get just the burger with just crispy onions then went back round complained spent 10 minutes explaining to get a burger with big Mac sauce and raw chopped onions on it 😐
