The best restaurants serving British food in London

Quite possibly the best night out I've had in a long time. Good simple food to start. Great comedy. Then fun music from the 70s and 80s and 90s to finish. Highly recommend.

Comí aquí para almorzar con mi padre un viernes a media mañana de noviembre. Una vez tomé el té con mi esposo aquí unos meses antes, pero esta fue la primera vez que me senté y comí allí también. Me gustó el aspecto del lugar, ya que estaba fuera de la calle principal (lejos de las multitudes) y también mencionó tanto sin gluten y pasteles veganos. Como alguien que tiene alergia a la leche y el gluten, esperaba poder comer allí. Lo primero que hay que destacar es que tienen pasteles veganos y pasteles sin gluten, pero no ambos. El hombre del mostrador dijo que tenían planes de traer uno con ambos en el futuro, pero ese día tristemente no tenía pastel. Es una lástima ya que tenían una buena variedad (¡la torta de pan caliente se veía bien!) Sin embargo pedí del menú del brunch y pudieron adaptarse; había escalfado huevos, tocino rayado y en lugar de muffin de desayuno con salsa holandesa, sustituyeron por pan sin gluten. Mi papá tenía huevo y rollo de queso, los dos tomamos té - el mío con leche de almendras (yo normalmente tengo soya, pero no tenían esa opción). El té era bueno, a pesar de las frágiles ollas, y los frascos de leche también eran lindos. Mi comida era sabrosa, pero tristemente fría. Ese día en particular había estado con mi hijo desde las 3 am y no había comido desde las 5 am debido al trabajo, así que felizmente lo comí. Pero en otro día podría haberlo mencionado, a pesar de disfrutar de la comida. A mi padre le gustó su rollo, pero dijo que estaba un poco empapado. En general, volvería a comer allí, y me alegro de que pudieran adaptar las comidas para mis alergias. Espero que tengan más opciones de pasteles para mí en el futuro y para probar más opciones de brunch también.

I've been here a couple of times and actually it's not too bad. Anything from the fridges e.g. Wine and bottled beer should be avoided as they're not properly chilled . Draft beer is good though. Menu is limited but it tastes nice and fresh ingredients used. The wraps are tasty and good pub food to go with a beer.... bit expensive at £9 if you only want a snack but there is a lunchtime offer. Also a great pub to watch football in as never too busy rarely see kids or large groups in there ...just the lads at the bar

In central London near SH museum tiny place with wide selections of baguettes and paninis with some hot food and breakfast No not a swish place but very cheap interesting food served by lovely unassuming people. Would go again for breakfast

Bouncers patrol the eating area - absolutely horrible place - food was expensive and very poor standard.

All my life my family have visited the Hippy Chippy. They moved here in 1982 and whenever I'm home we place an order. As a child it was the great treat of the week; the Saturday night Hippie Chippie. But the resturuant I knew disappeared even before the lockdown. Now they regularly forget items and are powerless to deliver the missing items. The best they can do is suggest you get a refund from Uber, which won't be enough to get replacement food delivered. They're powerless. They've also started skimping on chips. Abundant chips used to be a hallmark of the place; big parcels of paper wrapped chips. Now it's an environmentally unfriendly polystyrene box with barely a handful of their once famous chips. The Parade Fish Bar and Time and Plaice are vastly superior options now. I suggest you leave the Hippie Chippy to the past where it belongs.

Ordered a hot chocolate and hotdog and chips. They forgot my hotdog and chips. wouldn’t give money back when I said I didn’t want to wait for one to be cooked after waiting for 15mins already for my missed order. Staff were quite rude. When I finally got the hotdog it was inedible and I threw it in the bin.

Came here to get some pie and mash for tea. When I got home that nite and wanted to cook it the liquor was a funny colour and smelt funny. It had gone off. So never gettinng from you again
