Hippie Chippy Fish Bar in Bexley

All my life my family have visited the Hippy Chippy. They moved here in 1982 and whenever I'm home we place an order. As a child it was the great treat of the week; the Saturday night Hippie Chippie. But the resturuant I knew disappeared even before the lockdown. Now they regularly forget items and are powerless to deliver the missing items. The best they can do is suggest you get a refund from Uber, which won't be enough to get replacement food delivered. They're powerless. They've also started skimping on chips. Abundant chips used to be a hallmark of the place; big parcels of paper wrapped chips. Now it's an environmentally unfriendly polystyrene box with barely a handful of their once famous chips. The Parade Fish Bar and Time and Plaice are vastly superior options now. I suggest you leave the Hippie Chippy to the past where it belongs.

Diabolical customer service, had to wait an inordinately long time for my delivery order, when i rang the restaurant to enquire about the issue, the attitude was, not my responsibility, its Uber's. When the order eventually arrived, was cold and tasteless. Will be going no where near this business in future. I'm bemused how they've got such a high rating

Ordered online via Just Eat for collection for a large family order, came to £59, which seemed super expensive, but with the cost of living situation we sucked it up and paid. When we got there to collect, every menu item was around £2 cheaper, so we’d paid about £20 more than we needed to!!! I can understand tacking a little increase on for online orders, but that is ridiculous. With that said, the food was absolutely great, so highly recommended- but only if you order in person!

Best fish n chips shop in kent. Always cooked fresh. If you call before arrive that will be great i think now they do delivery's too with just eat or uber eats.
