The name marks this restaurant out from the ordinary run of Italians, pointing rather to the raw materials of a cuisine that is well designed and executed. So it is on the menu too, and there is an attractive map of the provenance of ingredients from around the UK. There are also fun cocktails, and a well chosen wine list. Service is cheerful and attentive - this was on a less than busy evening.

We ordered delivery and it was terrible. Out of 5 bagels, we received only 3! The salt beef is actually spicy beef. Why? Nobody does it like this! You can do things your own way, but please write it in the description! We don't eat spicy, se we ended up with only one edible bagel!

Visited this cafe a few times whilst working in Crossharbour. The food is always a pretty decent standard and the coffees are nice. The prices seem to be creeping up quite a lot, but the cafe is always busy and sometimes it’s a struggle for a table, so good luck to them

🚇 Island Gardens 🍺 £5.30 Amstel The Lord Nelson is located opposite, the old Millwall fire station at the southern tip of The Isle of Dogs in the East End of London. The nearest station is Island Gardens on the DLR. The pub was built in 1855 by wine merchant Henry Johnson, whose family ran an ironworks in Ferry Street. Notably, this pub is famous for being part of the history of Millwall Football Club. Between 1886 and 1890, Millwall home games were played at The Lord Nelson Ground, which was situated behind the Lord Nelson pub on East Ferry Road. The pub received a makeover early last year and now looks smarter with a more contemporary look and feel, while still retaining its traditional character. The servery is situated on the right-hand side, with the bar area forming an “L” shape around it. There is plenty of seating throughout, and you'll find a pool table and dartboard at the back, along with a courtyard beer garden at the rear. The beer selection features a lineup of familiar keg favorites and one cask ale. I chose an Amstel; my pint hit the spot, price point was reasonable at just over a fiver. As a wet-led pub, it doesn’t serve food, but plenty of bar snacks are available if you're peckish. We arrived just after 5 pm on a showery Saturday afternoon in October with my brother and fellow pub enthusiast and local Islander @booze_house_tales. On arrival, the pub was fairly busy with a friendly local crowd. The atmosphere was upbeat, and most of the regulars were gathered around the bar and pool table. The service was great; the team member who served us was welcoming and courteous This pub shows live sports on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and hosts Dj and Karaoke nights. Great to see that the @lordnelsonmilwall is still going strong since my last visit in 2018. This pub has retained its soul and still serves the long time locals who frequent this East End boozer. Reasonably priced pints, excellent service and a friendly local pub atmosphere make for a top London pub experience. 📅 12th October 2024 More London pub info on Socials @londonpubmap 🍻
