Siempre viene a tomar una pinta fría mientras visita Canary Wharf, tiene una buena vista del Támesis y el 02. Las bebidas son un poco caras, pero eso es Londres! Recomendaría pasar por una pinta si se aloja en el hotel Radisson o Tribe cercano.

I never normally get the chance to eat here, but the service and atmosphere here is what a London pub is all about. So so polite and helpful and with the outside 'garden' (so cosy) it's a must should you passing the Canary Wharf area 🤌

Drinks have got rather expensive

This pub is absolutely lovely! The interior is super stylish, and the outside area is really well-done too. We went on a chilly day, but it felt like a warm hug inside. The food and service were top-notch. I highly recommend the fish and chips - they’re absolutely delicious! And the French onion soup is to die for.

If you are a Guinness person, then this is your place with an amazing view of The Thames and O2. I live 5 mins walk from here so this is literally my go to pub. Service is always great and the bartenders have good knowledge of classic cocktails as well. Must try : Ofc Guinness and Bloody Mary.

It's a nice place but a pit pricey and food is so...so....

Lovely venue. We went for our staff party their and they set aside an area in their lovely new spacious garden area, which was nice and cozy under the canopy and surrounding heaters. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. A must see venue. Look forward to try their sunday roast next! Thanks for showing us a lovely time! The White horse team 😊

A nice gastropub for a quick drink. Looking at the menu. I'm sure that the food is great, as it is not cheap.

Beautiful pub but the food portions were small for the price and left feeling unsatisfied, and the service was abrupt and abrasive.

Prices are a bit on the higher end. Nice atmosphere with different rooms. They can run out of food when there are bigger events. Service is friendly, although a bit slow.

nice pub but a mulled wine for £14 is ridiculous

Lugares encantadores, un montón de áreas diferentes para sentarse, la comida era excelente. Solo una decepción de uno de mis amigos dulce, camarera decidió informar a mi amigo que parte de ella ya no tenían. Compraron el café antes del dulce, que sería agradable disfrutar juntos. El otro dulce amigo tardó 10 minutos en prepararlo, ambos dulces de los que nunca nos informaron, cuando se ordenó o incluso informar a mi amiga con respecto a su dulce. Así que en lugar de 3 dulces solo tuvimos 2 , como mi amigo se salió de la idea , para elegir un dulce diferente, sería mejor informarse antes , hubiera sido de ayuda. Aparte de que la comida fue agradable lo que todos tuvimos, esto no nos pospondrá volver en una fecha posterior. La camarera era muy buena también.

Nuestro viaje anual de Navidad a Inglaterra no sería lo mismo sin tener el domingo asado en el Gun. Nos encanta el ambiente, el personal amable, la gente amable y la comida que siempre está un corte por encima de la tarifa media del pub. Tuvimos una olla encantadora de ginebra, pepino y limonada para empezar y un humo muy sabroso con nuestro asado. El pollo asado era precioso y también todos los acompañamientos, creo que era incluso más grande que en visitas anteriores. ¡Volveremos el año que viene!

It's a really lovely pub in a lovely setting. The food is very good and so is the attention of their staff. We found some dishes a bit too pricey (dover sole), that's the only negative thing I would say, but the quality was very good. We'll definitely be back

I would never have known this place even existed until I saw the DJ food review on youtube. What a lovely place, food, service and atmosphere 5 out of 5. Nice view too. If driving, park at Waitrose in Canary Wharf and its a 10 minute walk from there. Staff were excellent by the way.

It's a hidden gem. Exception service, freshly made food and incredible views.

We visited The Gun on a Sunday for drinks while working along the riverside. From the outside, we didn’t expect it to be so fancy inside—it was a pleasant surprise! The waiters were well-dressed and very polite. The roast food looked amazing, with massive Yorkshire puddings, although the prices seemed a bit on the higher side from what we saw on the menu. We're hoping to come back and try the food soon—will update the review when we do. We sat outside on the new terrace, which was great. There’s plenty of space, and it felt warm and cosy even in winter. However, the drinks selection outside was a bit disappointing, so it’s probably better to head inside for more options. As a Fuller’s pub, they had the expected drinks selection. We had an Asahi, Neck Oil, and a very nice ale—three drinks came to just under £20. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this pub for a relaxing Sunday drink. It’s very comfortable, the view from the terrace is lovely, and the atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

The ultimate gastro pub in London serves up the ultimate Xmas dinner. It's really fine dining but more accessible.

The roast was very tasty but the portions were quite small for the price and the beef and pork were both overcooked. We received half a carrot per roast, which when you're paying almost £30 feels a bit cheeky. Our group was not full after the meal but the venue was really cute and the quality was good.

Why have you started playing music really loudly until 1am. I am a local resident and it’s totally ruining my sleep. Not sure why a cute little pub needs to blast out music like a nightclub. Update: music is now being played in the garden all night. Cannot sleep. Very depressed. Please be considerate to your neighbours. Utterly ridiculous to be playing loud music outside (in a tent) all night long all week. No consideration to local residents.

Tuvimos un encantador almuerzo familiar en 27 / 11 / 24. Este es un pub muy atmosférico con una historia fascinante con vistas al Támesis. Gran felicitación a todo el personal, pero especialmente a Ivo que se aseguró de que tuvimos un gran tiempo!

I’ll leave it up to you as to whether you think the lamb roast pictured is worth £29. In my opinion it’s not. Far from it. The cauliflower cheese was just mush with no actual cauliflower florets in it whatsoever. The rest of our party has similarly poor beef roasts which were also not worth the money at £26 a pop. We did complain at the time but were not offered any resolution other than an apology that the food was so poor. Don’t waste your money on the roast here -Go to blacklock instead.

I booked a reservation for me & my finance on the afternoon 8th of December, the manager gave me the worst attitude ever in my life upon arrival. It definitely made me feel very disappointed. I feel that the customer has to beg on the manager to get nice service. The other staff were very friendly. We were disappointed also as we tried to reserve starters 4 hours earlier on the call but were told that our reservation hadn’t been noted. The atmosphere was also very nice and we had no complaints regarding our meals, we just unfortunately felt very to be down in the dumps within 10 minutes.

Brilliant private dining event at the Gun! Jan was absolutely amazing looking after us. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice place by the dock! Good food too!

I took my family to this place for drinks and dinner, hoping for a pleasant evening. We wanted to sit in the conservatory dining area, but we were told that we had to order food immediately, despite the place being completely empty. We were then told we could have drinks inside and move to the conservatory for dinner later. I agreed and asked one of the waiters to reserve us a table since it was starting to get busy. He assured me there would be a table ready for us. Fast forward half an hour, and we're told a larger group made a reservation, and there were no tables left? What does that even mean? Am I not a customer too? I specifically asked to have a table reserved. After waiting for an hour and speaking with the staff multiple times, we were still left without a table. This is absolutely unacceptable. It’s a shame because the location is beautiful, but the staff's incompetence ruined what could have been a great experience. I won’t be coming back, and I strongly advise others to think twice before visiting.

El pub es genial para alejarse de la parte sin alma del muelle canario. Las cervezas son excepcionales, y el personal es amable que te hace sentir relajado en el bar. Tiene un entorno increíble afuera con vistas al Támesis y al O 2 Arena. He estado aquí un par de veces, y la comida puede ser inconsistente con respecto a la calidad, y lo es. Muy caro que no coincide con la calidad de la comida. Muy difícil de aparcar en el pub también.

Sunday roast with friends that was as good as I'd always been led to believe. Absolutely superb and 200% recommended. Service impeccable- a special mention to Ivo and the pub manager who managed to squeeze us in without a booking which was greatly appreciated. Ticks every box without hesitation.

I visited The Gun for a late Sunday lunch on the 10th Nov, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a friendly and warm welcome, followed by excellent service and truly outstanding food. I’m not usually a big fan of Sunday lunches, but this one was absolutely fantastic and far exceeded my expectations. A huge well done to the head chef! I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Nice venue with great history and super service. Food let it down. Lamb rump main served with fridge cold carrot purée which was very odd. Lamb was chewy don’t seem to have been rested was very disappointing for the price.

Don’t get me wrong the food tasted great, but I went with the veg roast and everyone I was with had the sharing meat roast dinners. As a veggie I was hoping for loads of veg but my plate of food was tiny compared to meat plates. I literally got one carrot (which was delicious), but definitely needed more veg. And before you say, why didn’t you eat some of them veg from the people that was sharing? They had meat and veg on the same plate so I couldn’t even steal some of theirs which was disappointing.

Lovely Sunday roast. Will certainly go back again

This is a great traditional gastro pub just outside the boundary of Canary Wharf. Good selection of beers on tap. Nice traditional pub environment and a dining area at the back that looks out over the O2. I had the burger and chips which was amazing. Never tasted better chips in my life. Service was good and it's definitely a place Id like to go back to. It also a nice contrast to all the skyscrapers in Canary wharf and ia lovely walk if you're staying in Canary Wharf l, especially at night when everything is lit up. Only criticism is the price...it's a bit steep.

Decided to splash out on a fancy dinner and the food was lovely. Skin properly crisped up on the sea bass, husband said the chicken was perfect, and the fried shredded courgette was delicious. If you reserve a table for dinner you get to sit on the closed deck overlooking the Thames.

I haven't tried the food here so can't comment. I've come here a number of times with family and colleagues. It's very expensive and for what you are paying the service is poor. A 'hello' or 'hi' from the bar staff would be nice, especially because I've remortgaged my house for a round of drinks. The atmosphere is a bit..,....... tumbleweeds. Suppose saving grace is the outdoor area overlooking the Thames. But then you can get better food, drinks and ambience at pubs further up the river that are far cheaper.

Fantastic spot! The food was delicious—lamb, ravioli, and my all-time favorite beef tartare blew my mind. Absolutely top-notch. Now, I hate to nitpick, but that sticky toffee pudding came with what must’ve been the tiniest scoop of ice cream known to humankind. But don’t worry, a glass of port came to the rescue. Oh, and the crispy lager was on point, too!

It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We visited lunchtime yesterday just for a quick drink. However, when we got there, we were tempted by the lunchtime offer of 2 or 3 courses for £20 or £25. I had the pea ravioli to start and fish and chips for mains. Everything was perfect, very tasty and fresh, and a good-sized portion despite being an offer. Service was faultless, just right not overdone or in your face. Everything at the right time. Lovely cosy pub and surroundings next to the river overlooking the 02 arena. Great outside area for the sunny days, too, with bar and music with the perfect Thames view. This is gem of a place and we'll worth a visit.

Popped in for a quick drink plenty of choice friendly staff and nice atmosphere

Had a lunch recently with colleagues and the food, staff and views over the Thames were excellent. We had a fixed lunch menu which was reasonably priced for Canary Wharf area so worth a visit if you are in the area. There are a few nooks and crannies to sit inside if you want some quite, but the best views are in the conservatory area overlooking the Thames and O2 area.

Proper pub, good food, right on the river with views across to the O2. Great in the summer, outside seating.

I came here for a roast dinner I had heard was not one to miss. And wow, they did not disappoint!!! The food was delectable! The service was extremely cordial. If I could give one criticism, it'd be for them to place WARNING HOT WATER signs on the taps in the toilets. The water was quite literally boiling hot within seconds of running the tap. And I needed to soak in cold water to soothe my wrists for a few minutes. If you're lucky enough to get out on the waterside, it's very peaceful to enjoy a drink.

Went for Sunday dinner. The food was nice, but not a lot of it, and in our opinion, it was way overpriced for what you get.

Went for afternoon drinks with a mate. Staff were pleasant and the location is tucked away along the bank of the Thames

Came to sit in the garden but it was closed that day for repairs, and there was no space in the small garden at the back. Other then that it was a great visit, beer was good and the views out over the river was great.

Went for my Birthday meal for sunday Roast Fatty stringy beef Roast potatoes rock hard under cooked stuffing was Iceland frozen processed stuffing pigs In blankets well I couldent even work out what they was cheap ingredients for the prices they charge a total RIP off would never go back

I love the fireplace area indoors for the winter as well as the seating near the water for the summer. The food is decent and the staff polite.

A good place in a atmospheric place

My friend and I went for the three-course set lunch in late August 2024. This is, in all respects, a brilliant gastro pub. Lord Nelson was a frequent visitor here with Lady Hamilton. The décor is a perfect reflection of this pub’s history. Our lunch was truly superb. At £25 for three courses, it was outstanding value for money. We sat on the terrace immediately adjacent to the river Thames, overlooking the millennium dome. The tables were laid out with white table cloths and silver service. The waiter service was impeccable and food beautifully presented and just lovely. We washed everything down with a gavi di gavi. Perfect with the haddock and chips as the main course. Highly recommended. Would I go again? I am counting the days!

Proper British pub on the Thames, within nice views and good atmosphere. My 5th time here. I’m always getting my London visiting friends to impress

I came to the Gun a few years ago and I forgot to give a review so I'm here to rewrite a tremendous wrong. I've always run past this place so one day I thought I should actually come here. The Gun is a historical pub located in the Canary wharf/isle of dogs area and the pub is really warm and welcoming. The staff are amazing, so friendly and chatty. I ordered a Sunday roast and it was divine, I absolutely loved it. If you're in the area, you have to come to the Gun and I promise I'll be back there soon 😊

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed as I informed them it was my partner's birthday, so I hoped to get a nice table by the riverside (this was the main reason I booked this pub). We did not get a table by the water but could luckily change after asking twice (had to do it ourselves though - moving cutlery, napkins, drinks, etc.). Also, our starter was not great, which was mainly down to the burrata. It was freezing cold and hard inside (?) -- Really something you don't expect of a burrata. However, the mains were great - roast dinners. The dessert was good, too. All in all, it was a 3 star experience, really, but because roasts were so good, up to 4 stars.

A fantastic dining experience. The service was super attentive and they gave excellent recommendations. The cote de boeuf for two was excellent. The fancy smoked negroni was well presented although I didn’t care for the actual smoke flavour. The triple cooked chips were perfect, and made excellent dipping vehicles for the bone marrow. Unreservedly recommend.

What a fabulous place! Enjoyed a lazy Sunday afternoon in the garden terrace. Fantastic wine and great service. Such a wonderful spot looking out on the O2. Had some homemade chips which were great. Highly recommend. The terrace for dining looked superb and will try next time

What an uplift! The Gun has outdone itself and "shot" it out of the park with its renovation. Easily the best riverside pub in the Isle of dogs. Can't beat it on a summer day! Great vibe!

Chef clearly cares about the food he/she serves. We had the set menu and I must say it didn't feel like a set menu. There was plenty of food beautifully served and very tasty. Great settings. Lovely attentive and engaging waiter. Will be back.

Quality dining, pricey but good service. Wines and wine list were great, sunday roast was tasty. It's a lovely setting, but was nearly £250 for 3 people.

Great location, great history, great beer garden with fabulous views great restaurant location overlooking the water unfortunately the food average at best . Fantastic place for a drink but eat somewhere else. NB Further to this post The Gun Management team responded and asked for specifics by email and we entered a very friendly dialogue regarding the visit. The team were anxious to get things right and although we had a difference of opinion I would compliment them on their response and their desire to get things right (you cant be perfect every time.) Congrats. With this team in place The Gun is in good hands and should only get better.

I recently visited The Gun in Canary Wharf for a Sunday roast and overall, it was a mixed experience. I opted for the beef roast, which was exceptionally good. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavour, making it the highlight of the meal. However, the Yorkshire pudding was a bit of a letdown. It seemed a little old and wasn't as fresh as I would have liked, leaving it somewhat floppy instead of the crispy texture I prefer. The roast potatoes, too, were disappointing; they were soggy and lacked the crispiness one expects from a good Sunday roast. Despite these issues, the meal was quite flavourful, and given the reasonable pricing, I can't fault the food too much. The service at The Gun was impeccable, as it always is. The staff were attentive and friendly, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. After our meal, we visited the Tiki Max bar outside by the river. Unfortunately, this part of the visit left much to be desired. For the price they charge for drinks, I expected the venue to be better maintained. There were cobwebs all around the fence, and the general upkeep of the area seemed neglected. A little bit of TLC is definitely needed, especially given the premium pricing. It takes minimal effort to clean cobwebs, and the overall appearance of the outside area detracts from what could be a much more enjoyable experience. In summary, while the food and service inside The Gun were quite good, the outdoor area at the Tiki Max bar could use significant improvement. With a bit more attention to detail in maintaining the venue, The Gun could offer an all-around excellent experience.

Such a nice pub at Riverside, I love the vibe and next to the river Thames with good views, I just loved the vibe with my friend.

Good selection of drinks. Wish they had some decent vegan food options though. Friendly staff and the most magnificent view of the river Thames and the O2 Arena. The beer garden is quite spacious with wooden tables and chairs, and it also offers a couple of ping-pong tables. I loved this place.

Been visiting The Gun over a number of years it has never disappointed Food Service Atmosphere 5 star It is a little more expensive but As for cost The only expensive meal is one you do not enjoy. Discovered this cute little beer garden and restaurant on a hot day when I was looking desperately for something to drink, And met the nicest bartender who went along with my weird fetish for this blue parrot glass and made my cocktail in it, she even made it extra strong bc we waited for a bit, unfortunately didn’t get her name but she was one of the only girls there - shout out sis 🤩 Overall great pub and cool environment and vibes, next time we’re around we’ll definitely try the food as well

Best Sunday roast I've had in ages

Made a point of calling in for a refreshing G & T whilst I was walking this corner of Docklands. On a hot , sunny mid day I took my drink out into the garden & enjoyed a magnificent view across the river. The Gun is a historic building of great character & a must to visit if you are in the area. There is a board on the outside wall giving a short history of the building.
