Shame I cannot give less than 1 star. No prams or pushchairs allowed inside, I was forced to pack all our belongings to my backpack and leave my stroller outside. Lack of customer service - had to repeat question regarding dairy alternatives 3 times until I had any answer, well, it was only 'yeah'. No hello, no good morning, no nothing. Additional charge for dairy alternative, which is not written down anywhere. Just because of my severe medical condition, I am being forced to pay extra.

The cup is clearly dirty but has an inpatient excuse, her coffee machine makes the black lines down the side of the cup. Therefore, The Mudchute Cafe is unable to provide clean cups. Here’s hoping the cutlery is clean and there’s no sit in my soup!

“I always ask my staff to please treat the customers the same way you want to be treated when going out.” This above statement was made by the female assistant/owner of this establishment and they are doing nothing to be part of the community apart from isolating and making customers feel very unwelcome. We were all out as a family having a wonderfully visit around the farm feeding the many animals, when we decided to grab a drink from the Mudchute kitchen. Once inside the premises, a young parent (I spotted her several times around farm grounds on her own) was behind us with their buggy waiting, the female assistant leaned across her till and shouted ‘see sign, buggy’s outside’ The young woman left, red faced with her infant who was fast asleep in the buggy. It was a hot day and I can only assume at this point, she merely couldn’t leave her baby outside asleep, so came into the premises to purchase refreshments, from what I could see there was no health & safety issues from a buggy being inside and there was plenty of room, in fact at 4pm it was empty inside. But this young mum was instructed bluntly to take the buggy outside, now I ask you all, 1. Who would leave their sleeping baby outside whilst they went indoors without a good view of the buggy? No one!! When I asked the assistant ‘why ask her to go out, that’s not fair & I feel she is on her own with a sleeping baby, how is she meant get some much needed refreshment from the the only option of counter service?’ And the response I got was ‘what’s the problem! The sign clearly says no buggy’s! Seriously guys that’s exactly what was said. Well, I will leave it up to my fellow parents with small children to decide, but we will not enter these unfriendly premises again & will bring pack ups. Please don’t be out off the rest of Mudchute farm as it’s brilliant for all the family, as the rest of the staff around the community farm are all wonderful, helpful and clearly vested in making your visit a lovely experience - I think the owners of the cafe (Mudchute kitchen) need to take note! And learn some empathy and manners. P. S we approached the young mum and offered to watch her pram, and join us whilst I sent hubby back in for refreshments for her as I was still annoyed at this point and dare not enter. The other female member of staff was equally rude, pushing past people eating without a word to water plants around the outside eating area. AVOID!!

Minimum £5.00 spend on card payments. A coffee for an adult and bottle of water for a child should not mean spending £5.00. Minimum spend is a dated trick. Service is below average and staff can be rude. Food is below average and cleanliness of the kitchen (on full view while queuing) is a concern. Mudchute Farm receives sponsorship money as a local charity. The Mudchute Kitchen does not reflect this and requires a review to bring up to satisfactory standards of service and hygiene levels.

We visited the Mudchute Farme Cafe today . We ordered two portions of scrambled egg on toast and two drinks. The food was excellent and the service was brill. No complaints from me and we will definitely be back soon. The meals were very reasonable priced and we were able to pay by debit card. Well worth a visit for families. They also do ice cream!

My children and I went to the farm and were serviced by a rude person with obvious hatred for children (for some reason on that day mine were actually behaving!). The toys are filthy and the tables dirty. The outside tables are full of pigeons and flies are everywhere inside the cafe. Would not recommend this cafe to anyone, especially if you have children!

I don’t normally leave review as opinions are very subjective, and probably can be based on singular or isolated experiences that paint a wrong picture about an overall service. However, after my family having been almost weekly customers of this restaurant for nearly 4 years, i feel more qualified than most to give my opinion, and after this week compelled to do so. We come here because our children love the animals and the farm, and the restaurant is convenient. Sadly this latest episode is the final straw that won’t see us or our friends attend this place again. We have been coming here for 4 years so have largely accepted the low quality of food that is served because the kids love the setting of the farm. We have also accepted the fly infestation that this restaurant seems to have at all times (the horse flies from next door seem to have found a good home), we have accepted the filthy toys and cutlery (we sometimes bring our own to eat with). We have also accepted the rude, at best discourteous, service because we are all used to disgruntled servers, in a big city. However, one thing I will not stand for or abide by is owner’s (Greta Dzidziguri) bullying behavior towards a child. Over the years I have heard her say: I love dogs but hate children, i wish I could never have any at my restaurant. Recently we felt the full extent of her hatred towards a child: My 11mth old baby was eating at the table and my 2.5 year old toddler (before his mother and grandfather could react) stood up on his chair and lent on the table to swat a fly on his sisters food. Ms Dzidziguri screamed (i paraphrase a long tirade): get your filthy child’s feet off my furniture.. You and your child have no respect for other customers...this is disgusting behavior...this is my restaurant and i will not allow it... We explained that we always come here and the servers have previously thanked us for always using baby wipes to clean the table after us, but the tirade continued for a while. Needless to say, it left my wife and more importantly children shaken after a vicious assault by the owner. At an age where children are susceptible to experiences, the last thing I wanted to expose them to is bullying and abuse, and surprisingly by an adult that they are familiar with, and an owner of what is falsely advertised as a “child friendly” restaurant. All too often episodes of vile behavior go unchecked in our communities. We justify it to ourselves to let them go because we don’t want to cause a scene, or perhaps second guess if we have done something to cause them, but when a baby and toddler are the subjects of abuse I urge all to stand up against bullying of the worst kind. I say this as a warning to anybody with children. Avoid this place if you don’t want your children to be a subject of bullying by an adult, or please go if you want to stand up against this behavior (from the comments previously left here I see we are, unfortunately, not alone in this experience). I stress that you can treat my opinions on the food in this place as subjective and I may be wrong in my assessment of the quality, but my account of bullying is not subjective and i write this because I do not wish it upon anyone.

The Mudchute farms is a delightful slice of green neighbouring the much concrete Canary Wharf area. Where else can see you Llamas in the London:) And add to that, you can relax on a bench and table overlooking the horse stables and enjoy a yummy home cooked English Breakfast at great prices! The kitchen menu is simple and good, the service was great and the atmosphere was happy and buzzing with so many people:) Would definitely go back!

We went on a Saturday, lunchtime-ish. There are a lot of places to sit and eat, both insidge the kitchen and outside. Waited a bit longer than average to queue and order our food, but it came quite quickly. It was ok - I had the vegetarian gnocchie and my son had the beef gnocchie. A bit overpriced for the quality, but not awful. Would come back and have a cup of tea there, but would rather bring our own food to eat.

Unexpectedly came across this little cafe at the Mudchute Park and farm at the weekend - very nice atmosphere with surprisingly good choice and quality of food. Prices good for London with attentive staff bustling about clearing tables and providing cutlery where required. Although small, the Cafe has a friendly and inclusive family feel to it, being dog friendly and busy in a homely way. The cafe features an eclectic short menu which included amongst other things, hearty soups, two gnocchi dishes, (one with an interesting blue cheese/vegetarian sauce) and a variety of brunch items, such as Canadian brunch which featured banana bread alongside bacon egg etc! Even the burger looked and tasted home made which was a real surprise and not what I had wrongly anticipated given the venue! All tips go to charity too which I thought was pretty decent.

Stumbled across Mudchute Park & Farm and this café while walking from Canary Wharf to Greenwich. As mid morning, I just had tea £1 and cake £1.50, which was lovely - they had a selection of four fresh & homemade cakes (coffees are £2 - £2.50). Also available are breakfasts / brunches (most expensive items on menu at £7-£8), sandwiches, jackets, chips and a few more substantial daily special homemade lunches, e.g. pasta with prawns & salmon. Loads of seating inside and out. Highly recommend.

When ordering food, the woman behind the counter kept complaining that several children as well as my own child were coming through the entrance and opening and shutting the entrance curtains. She appeared to think that they would damage them more than the adults just by opening and closing them. I explained to her, this is a farm, it is full of children, the only way in or out of the cafe is through the curtains and the children were not pulling on them directly, they were just choosing to come in and out often, as children do. She did not seem to understand and went on and on at me and all the children about her curtains. If you are going to run a cafe in a farm full of children and you do not have the patience for children, especially around your precious curtains, do not run a cafe in a farm full of children!!! Otherwise, deal with it, stop moaning at your customers, provide some actual pleasant service and show some patience to the children. Sad, as the other staff were lovely. By the way, we are talking about see through plastic curtains which are more than robust enough to deal with children coming in and out. It is an entrance and exit and if you are so concerned about the curtains, simple, just don't have them there!Food is ok and yes, I had eggs sunny side up there today and the whites were completely undercooked....
