Used to be good many years ago . Guinness was off and and peroni was tasted like pony. Food was OK. Staff were OK but not motivated. I left because I felt like I got judged because I was the least poshest person In there. Would not recommend.

We had a lovely late lunch on a rainy/cold Monday afternoon at The Gatehouse. Food was delicious, atmosphere was cozy and service delivered by Laura was amazing. Thank you all for a great experience 😊

Mal servicio gestión poco amable. A altas horas de la tarde durante la fiesta de York Rise el 8 de septiembre, la dirección no estuvo de acuerdo. En el futuro llevaré mi negocio a otra parte. Under new management from the same people as the Red Lion. Lovely and spacious, friendly staff and very welcoming to our little one. Had beautiful roast beef and pork and a delicious stick toffee pudding. Other food also looked great. Definitely recommend!

So beautiful and charming- was in a smaller room with a cozy fire. Food was excellent and very attentive to detail- good for coeliacs

Chaotic serving area though staff were doing a fair job. Wanted to order some of the nice looking cake but it was displayed unprotected just inches from the faces of queuing customers so wasn't going to take the risk with COVID and colds about!
